Author's Notes: Written before the whole "I'm only a Junior" thing...

Blaine felt guilty.  He couldn't help it.  He knew how much Kurt wanted him to transfer and there was a part of him that wanted it too.  A part that was only going to grow bigger by the day as he faced hours and hours away from Kurt.  Sneaky text exchanges during the day and grabbing coffee at the Lima Bean when they could?  Blaine hardly was thrilled at the prospect of that being his modus  operandi for his senior year.

But there was more to this than a simple desire to spend more time together.

During the summer they'd been (metaphorically) joined at the hip.  Whenever they could they spent time together.  Lazy summer evenings where they talked of nothing more important than events on The Bachelorette.  Hot and humid days where they'd packed in more sights and events than was probably healthy.

Long weeks of hand holding and hugs and kisses which had progressed to fingers slipping under shirts, brushing against hidden skin...  And that first time when a simple kiss had become so much more and desperate rutting against the other had only been halted by Finn and Rachel coming home.  After that they had been almost desperate to find another time and place to do it again, to explore the feelings and sensations that had overwhelmed them.

They'd finally managed it, two days before the start of school.  It had been messy and uncoordinated and the awkwardness afterwards had been almost crippling.  But eventually they'd laughed and hugged and kissed and suddenly they were so much more.

Blaine felt like Kurt had actually moved into his brain since that day.  He couldn't go anywhere or do anything without thinking about him.  It was like he was addicted, like this boy who had been on the staircase that day had just woven himself into his life and now there wasn't a part of Blaine that Kurt didn't have an effect on.

And he wouldn't have it any other way.

He'd done everything that you do in this situation.  He'd made a list of pros and cons (pros : I get to be with Kurt; cons was a much longer list but somehow it balanced out), he'd spoken to his friends about it and they'd been less than useless.  He'd tried to talk to his parents but they had been so damn tactful about it all.

"We'll always support you, Blaine" and "You need to think long term, love" and "It's your senior year, you need to focus on what's important".

In short, Blaine was being told to do what was right and to focus on what's important.  And he had very little clue about what that was.

He loved Kurt, he really did.  Each day he woke up to that realisation and it was just as overwhelming as it had been that day at the Lima Bean.

He was settled at Dalton, he was working hard and well in his classes.  He was pushed and challenged and was predicted to leave High School with a fantastic GPA and could pretty much have his pick of colleges.  (Which, since an excited conversation with Kurt, had all been in New York.)  Changing to McKinley would mean new classes, new teachers, and given what Kurt had told him about the school there would be so much to deal with.

But this was Kurt.  This was him and Kurt and them and they would be together.  Maybe they wouldn't be able to hold hands and sneak kisses the way they did at Dalton.  It wouldn't be a safe haven, they would have to be as discrete as they were in public.  He could do that... it would kill him to be that close to him and not just reach out and hold his hand...

In an effort to try and find something to tip the balance, one way or the other, Blaine decided to hit the internet to research what could be his new school.  Time was public school made his skin crawl but Kurt and the website was simple and outdated but Kurt and some of these photos clearly had been photoshopped but Kurt and why the hell would they link to a student's blog?

Curiosity lead to him clicking on it and then a video entitled "GLEEKS HAVE NO CLUE".

And Kurt...

"Married by thirty, legally!" Kurt sang, waving his left hand.

And oh god, Kurt...

They'd talked about New York, they'd talked about college.  Since that day last week they'd started to talk about... y'know ...that, and they talked about love.  They were in love, so much, and at times Blaine wondered when he was going to stop falling and just be in love.  And there he was, talking about marriage and Blaine fell that little bit more.

Because in his head it was him there with Kurt.  In his head it was him putting a ring on that finger.  In his head it was him, married by thirty.  Legally.  New York held so much more promise to them since the summer than it had before then and his excitement had only grown since that announcement.  He suspected that it was the same for Kurt but he'd been scared to talk about it.

There had always been a small part of him that looked at Kurt and wondered why he'd waited, why he'd given this daft private school kid a second chance after being rejected, friend zoned, hurt so badly by bad, bad choices made while under the influence.

But Kurt had waited and since that day when Blaine's eyes were finally opened it had only gotten better.  And now here he was, on a blog video, his voice singing with happiness at being married.  Legally married.  But married.

To Blaine.  Kurt and Blaine.  Husbands.

That day in the coffee shop Blaine had admitted his love knowing, just knowing that Kurt loved him back.  He didn't need to hear it (but damn it was great to), because he knew.  And listening to Kurt saying – singing – that he knew.  He just knew who Kurt was thinking of.

To hell with lists and asking advice.  To hell with weighing things up.  He loved Kurt and Kurt loved him and married and he couldn't hide forever and married and it would mean spending time with Kurt and married and they wouldn't be competition at Sectionals and married and it didn't matter which school he spent the next year because married.  He would be spending forever with Kurt, he just knew it.

Guh. I love how you are able to take one or the other and get right inside their heads and make us see exactly what they are thinking at any given time. Kudos to you!!! XD
