Blaine gasped as his back crashed against the stone wall behind him, before the jocks that had pushed him just walked away, laughing, as he slowly sank to the floor.

“Oh my…” Blaine could hear a familiar, shocked voice, as quick footsteps approached him, before glasz eyes he loved so much came into his line of vision. “Baby are you ok?” Kurt asked worriedly.

Blaine looked up at him, intertwining his fingers with those of Kurt’s hand, which rested on his knee. He smiled weakly.

“I’m fine as long as I have you.”

Blaine just wanted to lean forward and kiss his boyfriend, but he knew he couldn’t. Not here.

“Let’s get outta here.” he suggested, and Kurt helped him get up, their hands firmly locked together as they made their way out of the Lima Mall.

“I love you.” Kurt whispered softly, his hands running over Blaine’s bare chest as he lay in his arms.

“I love you too.” Blaine replied lowly, placing a gentle kiss on Kurt’s hair.

“It’s gonna be hard.” Kurt started, his voice choked “One year Blaine…I can’t believe that tomorrow I will leave for one year. That I will go to New York. That I will leave you here…in Lima…Ohio…all by yourself. I’m so sorry Blaine.”

Blaine could feel hot tears on his chest, and his heart constricted painfully. Yes it would be horrible, and yes he wished he could go with Kurt, or that Kurt could have stayed with him for another year, but at the same time he was so proud of his lover for making it out of this, and he believed that they would make it through this year of separation.

“Kurt, love, listen to me: You are the best thing that ever happened to me. There’s so many things I regret. But you are the one thing…” Blaine stopped here, as tears threatened to fall from his eyes too “You are the one thing I will always be proud of. That you love me… that I get the chance to love you…There is nothing in the world I would trade that for. We can make it through this. Just remember I will always love you. And I am so proud of you.”

Kurt smiled at that.

“Only if you promise me the same. And Blaine, no matter what happens, or how far away I am, I will always be right beside you in my thoughts ok? And you will always be right with me. In my heart.”

Blaine nodded, before rolling Kurt over, so that he was on top of the brunet, kissing him softly.

The next morning Blaine stood with Burt and Carole, watching as the plane went and took his boyfriend away from him. He wasn’t ashamed of the tears on his face, but at the same time he knew that this goodbye wasn’t forever.

Just one year. They could make it. It was only time.
