Blaine walked in the loft Kurt and him were living together now. Kurt was sitting on the sofa watching TV. Blaine figured that he could slip by and up the stairs unnoticed for after his experience that day, he didn't really want to talk to Kurt or anybody else for that matter.
"Hey, Blaine how did it go at the doctors?" Kurt called. "Dang it." Blaine cursed himself. "Oh you know." He then started to walk up the stairs, but was stopped when Kurt began to speak again.
"What happened did the doctors give you painkillers for the pain?" Kurt walked into the foyer where Blaine was. "Uh...yeah" Blaine answered. "What did he say was it just migraines?" Blaine nodded. "I told you so." Kurt kissed Blaine on the lips and then went back into the living room. Blaine walked up the stairs to their bedroom and he plopped down on the bed face first. "God, please make me better soon and please don't let Kurt find out." Blaine turned over on his back, looking up at the ceiling as his tears began to fall.
Kurt walked into their bedroom, where he found Blaine reading a book "Hey Blaine." He sat on their bed. Blaine looked up suripized and threw the book to the other side of the bed onto the floor. "Hey Kurt." He forced a smile. "What are you reading?" Kurt asked leaning over and picking the book up from the floor. Blaine snatched it from him and put it behind his back. "Nothing just some book, you know."
Kurt reached behind Blaine and took the book. He looked at the cover of the small book and read the title. "Blaine why exactly are you reading a book on cerebral cancer?" the room fell silent and Blaine turned his gaze away from Kurt.
"Blaine... answer me." Kurt said to Blaine. Blaine looked at Kurt with tears in his blue eyes. "Because Kurt, I have cerebral cancer." Kurt's mouth dropped in shock before he sat the book down, stood up from the bed and backed away from it.
"Kurt, where are you going?" "Say something, Kurt." Kurt looked at Blaine and Blaine saw tears in his eyes as well. "I have to go." With that Kurt ran from the room. Blaine's tears increased and he picked up his book and flung it across the room before falling back onto his pillow to do what he did every night since his diagnosis; cry himself to sleep.
The next morning...
Blaine was sitting on the steps in the foyer when Kurt walked though the front door. He looked at the one person he knew for years and turned away immediately. "Kurt why are you treating me like I'm contagious?"
"Because Blaine, you lied to me you said that it was migraine headaches you were going to keep it from me, weren't you?" Kurt looked at Blaine. "No Kurt I was going to tell you when I was ready and I figured out how exactly to go about telling you." Blaine said.
Things were quiet for a few moments before Kurt broke the silence. "How bad is it I mean the doctor's they can cure it, right?" Blaine lowered his head before shaking it. "What do you mean no?" Kurt questioned.
"No they caught it to late and there's nothing that they can do about it." Blaine looked up at Kurt as his tears began to cloud up his eyes again. Kurt sat down on the step next to Blaine before hugging him close as he began to cry.
Later that evening...
A few of the glee club were called mostly the ones close to Kurt, Finn, Rachel, and Puck the other's couldn't make it because they were still in Lima but Rachel was in New York and Finn and her were together and living together and Puck was visiting in town.
"Okay Blaine, why'd you deiced to have a meeting tonight?" "I have to have a date" Puck said to Blaine as some of the glee club sat in Kurt and Blaine's living room for the emergency meeting Blaine had called.
"It won't take long, Puck you won't miss your date I'm sure." Blaine said. "Well can we hurry it up?" Finn and Rachel said the play is in about thirty-five minutes. Finn said looking at his watch. "Ok, then I'm Sorry that I've messed up your evening and that I figured that you could spare two minutes to tell you that I'm dying there you go that's my news now, you go to your play and on you're stupid date." Blaine said in an agitated tone.
"You're what?" Rachel said, for Blaine now had the full attention of the other's. Blaine sighed. "I'm dying I have cerebral cancer and it cant be cured." Blaine repeated in a calmer tone. "But that wont be for a while, right I mean you'll still be alive for a couple of more years or so?" Finn asked.
"Finn...I don't know the doctors say I have some time, but... I don't know exactly how long it will be" Blaine said. The other guys went quiet as they sat back on the sofa in alarm and anguish.
"That's all you guys can go no." Kurt said. "I don't feel like going to the play anymore," Finn said. "Me either" Rachel agreed. "And suddenly, I don't feel like going out" Puck said. "Guys, go out enjoy life." Blaine said.
"I can't enjoy it knowing that you're about to die." Finn said before his tears fell, causing the others to start crying to. "Finn don't cry I'll be here for a long while to come you'll see." Finn hugged his friend before they all shared one big embrace.
One month later...
"KURT!!"
Kurt hurriedly ran from the kitchen of her and Blaine's home to their bedroom where he heard the scream come from he rushed into the room to spot Blaine lying on the floor crying and holding his head in his hands. "Blaine... what's the matter?" Kurt knelt down on the floor next to Blaine and pulled him close to him. "My head...Kurt... it hurts so badly..." Blaine whimpered. "Okay, Blaine I'll call Dr. Kelly right now." "Okay did you take something for it?"
"Nothing works Kurt please make it better" Blaine cried. "Okay Blaine its going to be okay just stay there." Kurt said then hurried over to the telephone and called Blaine's oncologist.
At the hospital...
"Kurt...let me talk to you out here for a moment." Blaine's doctor said to Kurt and Kurt followed the doctor out of the clinic office. "Yes Dr. Kelly?" "Kurt, I'm afraid that my news about Blaine isn't happy news," Dr. Kelly said. "What he's okay right" Kurt said. "Kurt...Blaine's tumor has grown in size massively over the past few months and what was once the size of a small tomato is now bigger than a tennis ball."
"What?" Kurt exclaimed. "How could you people let this happen why wont you do anything?" "Kurt screamed, eliciting some stares from other people around him. "Kurt listen please you have to understand that doing surgery would have most likely killed him and neither radiation therapy nor chemotherapy would do any good there is nothing that we can do to help him." Dr. Kelly tried to explain to Kurt.
"Well, can you give him something for the pain?" "I can increase his milligrams in the medicine he's taking and we'll see if that works." "So...he...how long left?" Kurt tried to hold in his tears. "I don't know, but I predict it will not be much longer I personally will give him three months at the most but Kurt until that time I suggest that you all continue with your plans. I've spoken with Blaine and he says he wants to continue his life as it is until."
"Does he know about how long he has left?" "I have explained it thoroughly to him and he seems to understand but Kurt he needs you now try to make his last few days alive worth it." Dr. Kelly said.
"No need to worry Dr. Kelly I will I'll make sure Blaine has the best few months of his life.
Five Weeks Later...
"Happy birthday to you happy birthday to you happy birthday Blaine happy birthday to you!" Puck and Rachel and friends sang at Blaine's 31st small birthday celebration they had in their loft. "Thanks guys this is so awesome Blaine laughed. Kurt began to cut his cake. "I know you rock Blaine!" Kurt said and kissed him. "It was no biggie we figured you could use the surpize" Finn said. "Aww thanks guys." Blaine passed Kurt a slice of cake.
"Hey, you needed some cheering up" Puck said. Castle forced a smile before he sat down his own plate of cake and left the room. Kurt followed him, sensing something was wrong. "Blaine what's wrong?" Kurt found Blaine in their bed in their bedroom. "My head hurts." I'm going to lie down for a little while." "Oh okay I understand I'll be in the living room with the other's if you need any of us ok?" Kurt said and kissed Blaine's forehead and he nodded before turning over on the bed and closing his eyes.
Kurt went back to the living room. "What's wrong with Blaine" Finn asked. "Headaches" Kurt said. "He's okay, though right" Puck said. "Yeah he's probably just a little tired to." Kurt said joining the other's while eating cake.
"Oh" Finn said. "Good night, Blaine sweet dreams we love you!" he yelled loudly. "Night, Blaine!" the other guys screamed. It was a long night everybody left around two in the morning.
The next morning...
Blaine wake up! It's already two I have to go out today Kurt yelled at Blaine from the stairs. Kurt walked into their bedroom and over to Blaine's sleeping form on the bed he proceeded to shake Blaine in an attempt to awake him. "Blaine?" Kurt said, when he realized that his shaking wasn't doing anything. Kurt pressed his head to Blaine's chest. No heartbeat no signs of breathing. Kurt fought the urge to faint and got enough energy in his legs to run out of the bedroom and call, Puck, Finn and Rachel.
One week later...
Kurt started down at the closed coffin, which held Blaine most of the guests had left the cemetery and were on their way to repast, but he just wasn't ready to leave yet. He felt a hand on his shoulder before turning to spot Puck, Finn and Rachel, Santana, Sam and Mr. Schue.
"How you holding up, Kurt Puck asked. "Guys why him, why did it have to be Blaine why couldn't it have been someone else why couldn't it have been me why him?" Kurt cried, falling to the ground tears beginning to fall from his eyes for the first time that day.
The other's looked at each other before sitting down on the ground next to their weeping friend all of them knowing that nothing would ever be the same again.
