"I cannot believe I let you and Santana convince me to do this."
"Oh, come on. You're excited and you know it." Kurt sat on the bench in the boy's locker room staring up at Blaine as he pulled the polyester shirt over his head.
"I think I would be a little more excited if I didn't have to wear this stupid uniform."
"They're not that bad." Kurt stood up and put his hands around Blaine's waist. "I was a Cheerio once too, remember?"
"No, I don't remember because you refuse to show me pictures." Blaine playfully threw his hands in the air only to let them carefully land around Kurt's neck and he pulled him in for a quick kiss.
"And for a good reason." Kurt smiled up at Blaine, "I do not do polyester. Besides, the uniform looks so much better on you."
"Is that so?" Blaine raised an eyebrow and tilted his chin so he was looking at Kurt through his eyelashes. He had done this so many times before he knew exactly how it would affect Kurt; he watched as Kurt's eyes darkened, only for a moment, before he blinked it away and removed his hands from Blaine's waist.
"You better get going. Coach Sylvester makes you run five laps for every minute you are late for practice."
"Okay..." Blaine put on his best puppy dog look and earned one last kiss from Kurt.
"I'll be watching from the stands."
"I won't take my eyes off you." Blaine winked at Kurt and walked out only turning back at the door to catch Kurt checking him out in his new uniform.
"Alright everybody, listen up! I look out at all of you and I am disappointed. Not a single one of you looks fit enough to be in glee club, yet alone on my Cheerios. Winter break was not a time to eat all the holiday candy and sit around. Do you know what I spent my winter break doing; passing kidney stones while running on the treadmill. Now, I want ten laps from each of you and each time I catch any one of you walking I will add on three more laps. Now go!"
Coach Sylvester put the megaphone down and went to sit at the bottom of the risers not noticing Kurt's disapproving look from just five rows up. He came here to watch his boyfriend and the rest of his friends on the Cheerios practice their routine for regionals, not watch as they sweat their entire body weight off.
Kurt pulled out his phone to check his Facebook while they continued to run. He didn't really care about anybody on his newsfeed besides the few posts from his friends in New Directions but he continued to scroll anyway.
He was so busy on his phone he didn't notice when Blaine dropped out of running and bent over on the side of the track.
"Hey, Burt Reynolds! You just added three more laps for everybody, get your butt moving."
Blaine didn't start running though; instead he collapsed to his knees pulling his arms above his head. Eventually Santana stopped running to check on him.
"Blaine?" She ran over and squatted next to him, "Blaine!" When he continued to wheeze she turned panic stricken towards the risers. "Kurt! Kurt! I think we need your help!"
Kurt looked up from his phone to see the rest of the team and Coach Sylvester running over to Blaine's side. Before he could completely register what was happening he was on his feet running down to meet them.
"Blaine? Babe, where's your backpack?"
"In... the locker room." Blaine managed to squeeze his words out between his short quick breaths.
"Santana, I need you to run and grab his inhaler. It should be in the small pocket on the side. Hurry!"
Kurt thought back to the day he found the inhaler in Blaine's backpack at Dalton. After Blaine explained how he used to have asthma he went home and researched everything he could on what to do when someone was having an attack just in case. Get the inhaler, keep them sitting up, don't give them too many doses too quickly; wait a few minutes in between each one.
She got up from her knees and ran around the corner back towards the school. Kurt sat down behind Blaine and pulled him back so he was resting against his chest.
"Porcelain, how come he never told me he has asthma?"
"Because he hasn't had an attack in years, not since he started boxing." Kurt worried his eyebrows together as he looked back down at Blaine.
Without the inhaler his breaths were getting shallower. Kurt stroked his hands up and down Blaine's arms to try and calm him down but he could tell he was growing dizzy from the lack of oxygen.
"Blaine, honey, it's okay. Just try to breathe, relax, Santana is on her way."
Just then Santana came running around the corner with the small inhaler in her hand. She got down on her knees next to Kurt and Blaine on the grass.
"Santana, come sit behind Blaine here I am so he stays sitting up."
She and Kurt switched places quickly and he took the inhaler from her.
"Are you ready?" Kurt held the inhaler for Blaine and he placed his lips around it nodding at Kurt to go ahead.
After the first dose Blaine was able to catch his breath a little better but he still wasn't breathing properly.
"Santana, can you help him up? I am going to go grab my car and take him to the hospital."
"No, I don't need to go." Blaine was trying to refuse Santana's help but one bitch look from her was all it took for him to stand up.
"Blaine. You haven't had an attack in years. You need to go have yourself checked out; no questions or I'll call your mom to come take you herself."
"Fine. You can drive me."
"Good."
Kurt ran ahead already pulling out his phone to call Mrs. Anderson and tell her to meet them at the hospital. Once he got off his phone he pulled his keys out and drove over to the field to meet Blaine and Santana.
He crawled into the front seat and took another dose of his inhaler before putting on his seat belt and leaning his head back against the seat.
Kurt looked over at Blaine while they were driving; he could tell Blaine was worried even though he tried to hide it. He reached his hand over to take Blaine's and rubbed small circles with his thumb. Blaine opened one eye and looked over at Kurt with a small smile on his face. His heart skipped a beat like it always did when he caught a glimpse of Kurt and he closed his eyes again concentrating on his breathing.
By the time they got the hospital Blaine was able to weakly walk himself through the doors with Kurt at his side just in case.
Blaine sat at the seats in the waiting room while Kurt talked to one of the nurses at the counter trying to get Blaine in to see a doctor.
Eventually he was given a room to wait in with Kurt while one of the doctors finished up with another patient.
Blaine was forced to change into one of those horrible hospital gowns and lay down on the bed. Kurt pulled a chair up next to him and took his hand.
"Do you know why it came back again? I thought the doctors told you it was going away."
Blaine pulled Kurt up from the chair to join him on the bed. He placed both his hands on Kurt's cheeks and pulled him in for a kiss. He tried to deepen it but his breathing still wasn't normal so he started coughing instead.
Kurt rubbed his back while he worked his way through the coughing until Blaine finally settled back.
"You take my breath away." Blaine's smile grew from ear to ear as he turned to look at his boyfriend.
Kurt rolled his eyes but smiled back at him.
"You're so cheesy."
"But that's what you love about me?"
"I wouldn't change a thing."
Kurt leaned over and kissed Blaine's cheek before turning forward and letting Blaine's head fall to rest on his shoulder.
The two boys sat there in silence with intertwined fingers waiting for the doctor. Finally about ten minutes later he came in to take Blaine away for his tests.
"He should be done in about thirty minutes, maybe an hour."
"Can I wait in here for him?"
"Of course."
As Blaine was walking out the door he turned back on time to look at Kurt.
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
"So, I guess you got what you wanted, huh?"
"What makes you say that?"
"You can't do Cheerios anymore."
Kurt and Blaine sat down next to each other at the lunch table that Friday. The doctors still were not sure about what brought back the asthma so quickly but they told Blaine to avoid sports for a while.
"I guess so."
"That's too bad, though. I really enjoyed those pants on you." Kurt winked at Blaine before grabbing his fork and starting his salad.
"Well, you know," Blaine a little towards Kurt to whisper in his ear, "I don't have to return it to Coach Sylvester until Monday."
"Is that so?" Kurt raised an eyebrow at Blaine. "In that case, what are your plans for tonight?"
"I don't know but whatever it is I won't be playing sports."
"Well maybe we should just spend the night in bed then." Kurt looked up at Blaine with darkened eyes, "And don't worry, if you get too tired and have another asthma attack I can always give you mouth-to-mouth."
Blaine shivered and had to look away.
Kurt giggled before planting a kiss on Blaine's cheek and turning back to his salad.
Eventually the rest of New Directions came and joined them at the table and lunch continued on as usual.
As they were parting for their next class Blaine quickly looked at Kurt smiling.
"Tonight?"
"Tonight."
They both shut their lockers and walked in opposite directions to their next class.

So much drama! I love that Kurt rescued him, but I'm surprised Blaine never even showed gratitude to his brave boyfriend for saving him. That seems to be an oversight!
