This Is Not Goodbye
My take on why Blaine did not see Kurt off at the airport in 4x01. ONE-SHOT.

'Are you sure?'
Blaine's voice was small and uncertain. The idea of not seeing his boyfriend off at the airport wasn't the most pleasing in the world.
'Yes,' replied Kurt firmly.
He glanced at Blaine over his half-packed suitcases and boxes of stuff that his dad planned on shipping to New York later. Kurt could see Blaine wasn't happy with the situation, his face looked like that of a kicked puppy. Or at least it would look like that if puppies had triangle-shaped eyebrows and gigantic amounts of gel in their hair.
'Come here,' Kurt said, climbing on top of his bed and reaching out to Blaine, who sat opposite him. Their joined their hands between them.
Blaine dropped his eyes, clearly trying not to break down completely.
'Hey, I'm not leaving you.' Kurt extended his hand to pull Blaine's face up. 'I don't want you to go to the airport, because I promised not to say goodbye to you. So I won't. This is not goodbye, okay?'
A short nod was the only answer Blaine could manage at this point.
'Plus, I don't think I would be able to resist crying, if you were there,' Kurt added, causing Blaine's lips to arch infinitesimally.
'We're going to be fine, right?,' asked Blaine, finding his voice again.
'Yes, we are. I love you.'
'I love you, too.'
Kurt leaned forwards for a kiss and a hug, cherishing those last moments of tenderness they had before his departure. And when he dug his face in Blaine's shoulder, inhaling his smell, he felt tears creeping their way into his eyes. He could barely imagine being torn away from Blaine.
But then again, Blaine was right; he had to leave and move forwards. Move on from everything, but Blaine had to remain a constant. He could never say goodbye to him. And he never will.
