As soon as school was out Kurt ran to his car. He wanted to see Blaine. They may not get to be “together” at school but it was a comfort being able to feel him sitting just inches away. The emptiness in glee club and in the hallways without Blaine made Kurt feel vulnerable and exposed. Thank god that the drive to Blaine’s house from McKinley was short. Kurt pulled up to the mansion that was Blaine’s house. The blue mustang was missing from the driveway and Kurt knew that Blaine’s parents were out. Mrs. Anderson had come to accept Kurt’s presence at their home even if she still hadn’t accepted what Kurt and Blaine were to each other. Kurt’s phone rang.
Blaine: The door is open, you can come in :)
Kurt: a little anxious are we?
Blaine: I miss you :(
Kurt got out of his car and made his way into the house. The stairs to the second floor were right in front of the door. Kurt made his way up, down the hall, and into the bedroom on the right. He made a small knock as he opened the door.
“Oy, matey!” Blaine had an eye patch on his right eye and a huge grin on his face.
“Oh no. How long am I going to have to put up with this?” Kurt sat down on the bed
next to Blaine and dropped his face into his hands. He loved Blaine’s childishness most of the time but pirates? He could handle Harry Potter and aliens but pirates?
“Doc says a week, maybe a week and a half,” Blaine said a little more seriously. Kurt crawled across the few inches left between them and wrapped his arms around Blaine’s waist and laid his head on his chest. They stayed like that for a few minutes. Blaine wrapped around Kurt as well and pulled him closer, as if it was possible. Blaine’s cheek fell onto Kurt’s hair. A couple of minutes later Kurt lifted his head to rest his chin on Blaine’s shoulder and look into the beautiful hazel-green eye of his boyfriend.
“Thank you.” It was barely more than a whisper but it was full of every emotion; gratitude, love, guilt. Blaine didn’t say anything, just held Kurt closer.
“I’m so sorry that you got hurt.” Blaine could tell that Kurt was going to do and say anything to blame himself for what happened.
“Hey, you don’t have to be sorry. Even if I had known that there was something in that slushy, I would have jumped in front of you.” Kurt stretched his neck up and lightly kissed Blaine’s jaw. It was a lingering kiss full of affection. Kurt rested his head back into the curve of Blaine’s neck.
“I just, I’m afraid that if you get hurt,” Kurt took a deep breath, “that you’ll leave.” Kurt squeezed his eyes shut not wanting to cry. It was a thought that was always at the back of his head.
“I’m not going to leave. When I made the decision to transfer I knew it would happen eventually. I must say I’m a little surprised that it took so long.” Blaine smiled a little when Kurt chuckled. He could feel the vibration through his entire body. He loved being so close to Kurt, especially when they were so close he could feel Kurt’s blood pounding through his veins. Blaine pushed the thought from his head, now wasn’t the time for that.
Kurt pulled his arms back from Blaine’s waist. He reached to his own waist, removing Blaine’s arm and interlacing their fingers. Kurt sat up a little from Blaine’s side and locked his gaze. Blaine had come to know the look that was now on his boyfriend’s face. Kurt leaned in and pressed a light kiss to the corner of Blaine’s mouth, pulling back and lingering with his lips just barely brushing Blaine’s mouth. He looked into Blaine’s good eye to tell him he was interested and to see if Blaine was, too. Blaine pressed his lips to Kurt’s and pushed him down onto the bed next to him. Kurt tugged on their laced hands to pull Blaine on top of him. Blaine let most of his weight rest on Kurt’s chest.
Both boys loved the pressure of how close they were, bodies and lips smashed together. No room for air, just warmth and love. Kurt turned his head slightly under Blaine. The thing about being pressed together so tight, although wonderful, is that they actually needed air. Blaine lifted up onto his forearms. Their lips separated momentarily with a small pop before Kurt reached up to meet Blaine’s lips again. This time their lips were softer, moving with each other. Blaine shifted over Kurt so that he was slightly off to the side but still on top of him.
Kurt began to bite at Blaine’s bottom lip asking him to open his mouth and Blaine gladly did. He tried to suck on Kurt’s tongue as soon as it slipped past his lips but Kurt pulled it back quickly. Blaine could feel Kurt’s sly smile against his lips. Kurt bit his bottom lip again and flicked his tongue out to sweep across Blaine’s lips. Blaine’s mouth parted instantly and he didn’t dare try to take control again. A moan escaped his throat as Kurt’s tongue explored every inch of his mouth as though it was the first time they had kissed like this. Kurt began to lightly drag the tip of his tongue along the ridge behind Blaine’s front teeth. Kurt repeated this action, tickling and teasing Blaine, feeling him smile against his lips.
Letting his hand rest on Kurt’s hip, Blaine took control. He pushed his tongue against Kurt’s and into Kurt’s mouth. Blaine loved the way Kurt tasted. He pulled away and started to kiss along Kurt’s jaw. Kurt sighed and Blaine kissed further down his neck stopping to press several kisses to Kurt’s collarbone. Kurt draped his arms over Blaine’s shoulders and twisted his fingers into the soft, lightly gelled curls. He pulled Blaine up from his neck to kiss him again. As they fought for dominance, Blaine traced his fingers up and down Kurt’s side. Their bodies had progressed to shifting together creating a friction that made both boys moan. Blaine hooked one finger under the waist band of Kurt’s insanely tight jeans. The cool touch of Blaine’s finger against his warm skin sent a shiver up Kurt’s spine.
Blaine sat up, straddling Kurt and tugging lightly at the waist of his boyfriend’s jeans. For a minute he watched Kurt’s chest rise and fall as he tried to catch his breath. He lifted his gaze to meet Kurt’s eyes.
“I love you,” Blaine said as Kurt lifted his hand and placed it on Blaine’s thigh. Their eyes didn’t leave each other as Kurt’s fingers began to draw soft designs onto Blaine’s thigh.
“I love you, too.” Blaine leaned over and kissed Kurt. Despite what had just been happening, the kiss was sweet and gentle. Blaine pressed their foreheads together, breathing in Kurt.
“I want to protect you. For the rest of my life.” Blaine spoke in a whisper, pouring his heart into his words and closing his eyes. He wasn’t embarrassed, exactly. Blaine knew what his words implied. It wasn’t that they hadn’t talked about the future before. Since Mr. Shue proposed to Ms. Pillsberry, Blaine had been thinking about what it would be like to actually marry Kurt; the proposal, the day, the ceremony, the music. He opened his patch-less eye and became lost in the crystal blue of Kurt’s eyes. Kurt wasn’t staring, he was looking at him with every bit of affection he felt. Blaine knew that he wasn’t the only one who had been thinking about the future over the last week. Kurt brought his hand to Blaine’s neck.
“As long as I get to be a knight in shining armor, too.” A smile played at Blaine’s lips as he reached down to gather Kurt into another kiss. It was long and gentle and confirmation of everything that they felt for each other.
