It's Kurt and Blaine's fist night with their new son. Just for Klaine Week. It's Un-betaed and written in 30 mins. Please let me know what you think. Also sorry about not updating OTWT. I am working on the next chapter it's just not working out...
"Blaine what are you doing up so late?" Kurt walked over to his husband where he was leaning against the door-frame looking into the second bedroom, rubbing his sleepy eyes. He had woken up and realized that Blaine was not lying next to him and worried he went out looking for him.
"Sorry. I just can't believe he is ours" Blaine sighed and rested his head on Kurt's shoulder, wrapping his arms around his slender waist. "I can't believe they let us keep him." They had just gotten the news that day that they would be James' permanent parents. After three months of watching the little boy grow in their house, unsure if they would be able to keep him forever, the social worker finally called and let them know he was officially James Alexander Hummel-Anderson.
"I know. We are finally a family." Kurt leaned over and kissed Blaine's forehead softly squeezing his husband in a tight hug. They had been working with the adoption agency for over a year, trying to get approved. Even in the year 2024, when gay marriage was allowed in every state, it was still more difficult for gay couples to adopt. They never gave up and the proof was laying in the blue crib in the middle of the room, sleeping soundly.
Blaine pulled away from Kurt's grasp and led him over to the side of the crib. "We really shouldn't wake him up should we?" It was three in the morning, and James had just begun sleeping through the night. They both stared down at the dark haired boy, his lips parted and thumb in his mouth.
"No we really shouldn't..." Kurt walked behind Blaine, using his height to his advantage and wrapped his arms around Blaine's waist, watching their son over his shoulder. They could finally say that. He was their son. The final part to their little family. Their cat was asleep in their bedroom and now they had the final puzzle piece in his own room.
Blaine quickly glanced over his shoulder at his smiling husband. "He will never remember if we wake him up though... he is only 8 months old..." Kurt could hear the pleading in Blaine's voice and avoided looking him in the eyes, knowing that he wouldn't be able to resist the puppy dog look he was sure his husband was giving him. He glanced once again at his son and let out a loud sigh.
"I'll go get some food ready" He kissed Blaine's neck before walking out to their New York kitchen. James had only been theirs for a few hours and he had already had them wrapped around his little finger. Kurt couldn't help but chuckle when he heard Blaine cooing to their son, trying to get him to play with the dozens of toys they had bought him.
Yes. James was the perfect addition to their family.
