Blaine wants to ask Kurt a very important question.
"I can't do this.." Blaine put his hands in his pockets and paced around the room.
"Yes you can." Finn patted him on the back. "And you'd better because everyone knows you're going to, and if you don't everyone will know you just wussed out."
"You told everyone?!" Blaine's eyes widened bigger than Finn thought was even possible.
"Everyone but Kurt." Finn patted his shoulder again, but this time it was more of a punch.
Blaine rubbed his shoulder and sighed. "Thanks..I know I can count on you to keep secrets." He scoffed sarcastically.
Finn rolled his eyes "Just go."
Blaine walked nervously out of the kitchen and into the living room of the Hudson-Hummel house where Kurt and his closest friends and family were sitting. Everyone from the glee club to Cooper were in town for Kurt's twenty first birthday. He'd decided this was the year he wanted to do something exciting, and Blaine wouldn't let him do something small even if he asked.
He took his hands out of his pocket, knowing that it was a tell-tale sign that he was nervous. He sat on the couch next to Kurt and put his arm around his waist. Kurt looked over at him and smiled before returning to the conversation he was having with Santana about her upcoming production she was going to be in.
Blaine tried his best to keep conversations going with anyone he could so he didn't immediately have to talk to Kurt and put his plan into place. And when Finn announced that it was time for Kurt's suprise, in which Kurt had no idea that there was any sort of suprise, Blaine was so nervous he wanted to throw up.
He could perform in front of huge crowds, his disaproving family and anyone else in the world. But this, wasn't half as easy. Blaine took his hand off of Kurt's torso where it had been resting after he'd wrapped himself around his waste and stood up. He walked over to the corner of the room where there was a piano that Blaine had loved since the first time he came over to Kurt's house. He walked over to it and sat down and began playing the beginning notes of a song.
if you are the one
then us meeting here is fate
future with a dog named Ben
buy a house with a fireplace
this is the first I've seen your face
but there a chance we are soulmates
I know that this might sound crazy
cause you don't know my name.
Kurt watched him from the spot across the room he was sitting in. His eyes huge and the smile on his face even bigger. Blaine could practially hear the giggles from the girls in the room and he could see all of the knowing glances exchanged by the guys.
but we can't
we can't tell
the future no
but that's just, the beauty of the world we know
so baby, what if
Blaine's hands started to shake before he began the second verse of the song.
picture me on one knee
with the perfect diamond ring
we just met, but if you say "yes"
we'd have our wedding on the beach
it could happen, raise three kids
and we grow old so happily
I know this may sound crazy
cause I don't know your name
When he sang the line about proposing there was a collective "Awe" around the room from all of the girls.
Blaine breezed through the second chorus and the rest of the song for that matter, he'd practiced so much that he was used to it. But this was the unrehearsed part. He stood up from the piano and walked over to Kurt, who had tears bluring his eye-sight. He reached out and grabbed his hand. He stood infront of him and got down on one knee. All of the air practically left the room in one collective fake gasp. The guests didn't know, but Blaine knew that all of them were in on the 'surprise'.
"Do you know why I sang that song?" He asked hoping Kurt wouldn't know the answer.
Kurt shook his head no, with the biggest eyes Blaine had ever seen.
"It's what I should have sang the first time I met you.." He choked out before having to catch his breath because he was so nervous.
"Because I know how cheesy this is going to sound." He laughed along with the rest of the people in the room. "But I knew." Kurt wiped a tear from his eye. "I knew that you were the person that I was going to want to spend the rest of my life with. "
He heard a few voices say "Awe" Again as he pulled the ring box out of his pocket.
"So I wanted to ask you.. Kurt Hummel, will you marry me?"
"Yes!" Kurt practically jumped into Blaine's arms and kissed him. "Yes! A million times yes.."
Blaine kissed him back clutching him so hard he could hardly breath. When they finally took their lips off each other, the whole entire room was buzzing with exciment and a few of the girls were crying.
Kurt leaned into Blaine one more time and kissed him.
"I love you.." Blaine mumbled into Kurt's lips.
