Kurt and Blaine layed on the couch, both with barely open eyes. Watching the credits of the third movie they'd watched since Ben, left roll across the screen. The door creaked open and both men's sets of eye's moved towards the door.
They both just stared at the boy for a moment as he stood in the doorway holding the duffle bag slung over his shoulder so tight that his knuckles were stark white. The men on the couch holding each other's hands just as tight. The three in the room sitting quietly waiting for the other to speak up. The silence seemed like it was never ending until a small noise came out of their teenage son.
"Dads."
Ben had practically whispered the word, his hand immediately flying to his mouth to quiet the sobs that were inevitably coming now.
Both Kurt and Blaine practically leaped off the couch and had their arms wrapped around their son. Silent tears falling from both of the father's eyes. They stood in the middle of the neatly decorated living room for what felt like hours before Blaine promptly led them over to the couch so they could sit down. Kurt and Blaine on either side of Ben.
"I'm s-so suh-sorry." Ben stuttered over his words, wiping tears roughly off of his face. "I'm s-such an" he hicupped, and tried to catch his breath. "-idiot."
"You're not an idiot." Blaine assured him. "But you did do something really stupid, but we love you."
Kurt sighed and looked down at his hands thinking about how just hours earlier their oldest child had stormed out of their house, bags in hand to his car, promising them he wasn't coming back.
The husbands tried their best to remember that Ben was only a kid and that he'd be back soon, he was only being dramatic like they used to be when they were younger. But when Allison their youngest came in the living room, tears streaming down her face, asking her dad's if her brother was ever coming back again, they didn't know how to answer her.
They paced the house for the first hour, trying to decide whether or not to call the police. They both decided to give him the night, incase all he decided to do to get away was spend the night at his best friends house.
Neither parent really wanted to give him time. They both just wanted their son home. But they knew that calling the police would only cause more panic than they wanted.
A few hours later they both found themselves lying on the couch, their twelve year old daughter inbetween them, watching her favorite movie trying to distract her. Alli's eye lids finally drooped shut and Kurt picked her up and carried her back to her bedroom, tucking her in and kissing her forehead, a few tears falling from his eyes as he did. He returned to the spot he'd been in, only this time bringing himself closer to his husband, who's shoulders were shaking again.
"What if he doesn't come back?" Blaine whimpered into Kurt's shoulder.
"We C-can't think like that." Kurt responded, running a hand through Blaine's untamed curls.
"Do you guys hate me?" Ben spoke again, his voice rough with tears.
"Sweetie we could never hate you." Kurt pulled his son towards him, Ben colapsing into his Daddy K's shoulder.
"I'm so sorry, I was being a jerk. I love you guys and Alli so much." He spoke, regaining his breath and being able to speak without hicupping.
"We love you too, more than anything, never do anything like this again." Blaine swallowed the lump in his throat.
Ben nodded agains Kurt's shoulder.
