A short song-fic based on the song "Marry Me" By Train.
Forever can never be long enough for me
To feel like I've had long enough with you
Forget the world now we won't let them see
But there's one thing left to do
The words rang through the speakers of Blaine's car, while he was driving himself and Kurt home from their much needed date before Kurt left for New York. He only had one more night with Kurt before he left to go off to college.
He didn't want to think about it, he didn't want their last conversation to be about how much he would miss Kurt. But the thought wouldn't leave his head.
The other thought that never left was Chandler. And even though Kurt had told him not to worry about him anymore, and that they weren't talking. Blaine still worried, because they would be in New York while Blaine was still here in Ohio. He'd wanted so badly to pass all of his senior classes right then in the car just so he could go to college with Kurt. But that was no where near possible. Blaine worried that since he wasn't there maybe Kurt would need somebody, and it would be Chandler to the rescue. But he shook the thought out of his head because it wasn't worth freaking out over.
Now that the weight has lifted
Love has surely shifted my way
Marry Me, Today and every day
Marry Me, If I ever get the nerve to say "Hello" in this cafe
Say you will
Blaine looked over at Kurt who was quietly singing along to the song with Blaine. He smiled. He wasn't really sure what he was thinking, but the next thing he knew, he was pulled over in the parking lot of the local park.
Together can never be close enough for me
Feel like I am close enough to you
You wear white and I'll wear out the words I love you
And you're beautiful.
"What are you doing Blaine?" Kurt asked, still smiling because of the moment they'd just had singing to eachother.
Now that the wait is over
And love and has finally shown you my way
Marry me
Today and every day
He opened up the console in his car, he looked to see a small black box. It had a ring in it. The ring had been there for almost six months. He'd put it in there almost the same time that he'd given Kurt the ring made out of gum wrappers. He had lied and told him gum rappers were the only thing he could get him, because he was worried that the real thing would be too much. He didn't know how his boyfriend would feel about this huge gift.
Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say "Hello" in this cafe
Say you will.
"Kurt, I love you, like more than you even know.. and I want you to always remember that, okay?"
"Blaine you're starting to worry me.."
"No, it's nothing to be worried about.." he smiled and pulled the box out of the console.
Kurt's eyes widened. He looked like a dear in the headlights. His jaw was slightly dropped. "Blaine I-"
"It's not an engagement ring.." he smiled reassuringly. "It's a promise.. more than the one a gave you before, this is a real promise, that when you're in New York, you'll remember that i'm here waiting for you to come back, waiting for me to be able to come to you, and that I love you.."
Promise me
You'll always be
Happy by my side
The biggest smile came across Kurt's face while Blaine slid the ring on his finger that also had the gum-wrapper ring. "Thank you.." He tried to say, but it came out more like a whisper because his voice was cracking due to the fact that he was about to start crying.
I promise to
Sing to you
When all the music dies
Blaine turned up the music and sang along with the song that was playing. The verse about singing was always his favorite, because he and Kurt had, had some of the best moment's in their relationship because of singing, and they both swore they would always sing to the other.
And marry me
Today and everyday
Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say "Hello" in this cafe
Say you will
Marry me
The song ended and Blaine looked over at Kurt.
"One day, I want to sing this song to you.." He smiled.
"I can't wait.." He responded and leaned across the seat to kiss Blaine.
