Just a fluffy future!Klaine fic that popped into my head, and begged to be written! This is my first ever Klaine fic, so constructive criticism is much appreciated :)
"Kurt! I'm home! Kurt" I called as I entered the house, it was in complete darkness apart from the light coming from the lounge at the end of the hall. I walked into the lounge, dumping my suit jacket onto a hook in the hallway, and I pushed the lounge door open. It was then my heart melted, as I saw Kurt, and our son Jake curled under a blanket, the movie "Elf" playing on the TV.
I walked over to the couch, placing a kiss on Kurt's cheek, and I stroked Jake's dark hair gently.
"Hey," Kurt whispered, moving his head to kiss me on the lips.
"Hey, baby" I said, my lips barely inches away from Kurt's. "Looks like my two boys are very tired campers." I said gently, keeping my voice low so I didn't disturb Jake's slumber.
"One tired camper and one ill camper, Jake's been sick." Kurt replied, turning his head to look at Jake, moving his hand gently up and down Jake's back, placing a soft kiss onto his hair. My heart melted as a sad expression came onto my face, as my baby was ill.
"Poor Jakey," I said as I felt his forehead, feeling Jake's warmth under my hand, he clearly had a bit of a fever. Jake's eyes began to flicker, before they opened, his blue orbs looking into mine as he blinked sleepily.
"Daddy!" He croaked, his eyes glistening with excitement, even in his ill state.
"Hey, little man. How are you feeling?"
"I'm ill Daddy, but Poppy has been taking care of me!" he told me, his voice breaking slightly as he spoke.
"I have indeed! Calpol, cuddles and movies seem to be doing the trick." Kurt said to me, his eyes resting on Jake.
"The cuddles and movies sound good, the calpol not so much." I replied, and Jake nodded in agreement.
"I don't like being ill, Daddy." Jake said, his tone sad a downbeat, and my stomach clenched at his sad tone.
"I don't like it either, little man, but if you take your medicine and get lots of cuddles from Poppy, you'll be better in no time!" I smiled at him, his blue eyes lighting up as he smiled softly.
"Hey, Jake, how about we let Daddy join in with the cuddles too, then you'll get better twice as quick with twice as many cuddles!"
Jake giggled and nodded his head. Kurt sat up, Jake still snuggled in under his blanket. I climbed onto the couch, wrapping an arm around Kurt's shoulders, placing a kiss on his cheek. Jake moved over so he was sitting inbetween the two of us. When I say sitting, I use the term loosely, he was sprawled across us. Jake sighed, and cuddled into his blanket more, his eyes focusing on the TV were Buddy the Elf was mixing spaghetti with syrup. Jake's giggled, and Kurt and I looked at each other, our adoration for our son could be clearly seen.
It was a while later when Buddy the Elf and Michael were helping Santa fix his sleigh that I looked over at Jake, seeing he was fast asleep once again. I looked over at Kurt to see him looking at Jake with such adoration in his eyes that my heart just burst from love for the two of them. Kurt turned to look at me, and I placed a gentle kiss onto his lips, my hand coming up to rest on his cheek.
"What was that for?" He asked, opening his eyes and smiling widely.
"I love you." I whispered, stroking his cheek softly. His eyes softened, and he leaned up to kiss me once more.
"I love you more." He replied, snuggling into my side, tightening his arms on Jake, Jake snuggling into Kurt's neck. I grinned at him then, kissing him again.
"I think we should get him to bed." I said, moving my hand over to stroke Jake's back.
"Yeah I think so too." He said, kissing Jake's head and standing up, blanket still covering Jake. Jake grumbled and Kurt shhed him, rubbing his back and kissing his head, beginning to make his way to the stairs. I got up and followed, needing to be close to my boys. I made my way to Jake's room to see Kurt taking the blanket off of Jake, putting it ontop of Jake's toybox. I moved over to pull back Jake's covers, and Kurt put Jake down, Jake's eyes slowly opening.
"Poppy?" He mumbled sleepily, rubbing his eyes with his little fist.
"Hey baby, are you ready to go to sleepytown?" Kurt asked, stroking Jake's hair softly. Jake nodded, cuddling his teddy, George, and snuggled into the covers. Kurt kissed him gently on the forehead.
"Night baby, I love you." Kurt said, stepping back to let me say goodnight to our son.
"Sweet dreams, Jake. I love you." I said, also kissing him on the forehead and pulling his covers up to rest on his shoulders. Jake's breathing evened out as he succumed to sleep once more. Kurt and I watched him sleep for a few minutes, Jake's chest rising and falling with every breath he took. We both left his room a few minutes later, hand in hand, Kurt leaving Jake's door open slightly.
We made our way back downstairs, chatting about our days, mine being filled with countless phonecalls from clients about their cases, I worked for one of the major law firms in New York City, so it came with the job. Kurt's day had been looking after Jake, supplying endless amounts of cuddles, his eyes softening and lighting up as he spoke of our son, the love for Jake shining clearly in his eyes. We fell onto the couch, Kurt's head falling onto my shoulder. I turned my head to place a soft kiss on his hair as we settled down to watch the rest of "Elf." This is what I class as perfection. Having my husband and my son by my side. I'm their forever protector, and I thank whatever deity that allowed me to have a life as perfect as this. I was clearly lost in my own world, as I turned my head to see Kurt staring at me.
"Where did you go? I've been calling on you for the past five minutes!" He grinned, kissing my neck.
"Just thinking about how perfect everything is. I have the best and most gorgeous husband in the world, who is the best Poppy in the world," I said, as he blushed, snuggling his face deeper into my neck, "I have the best and most beautiful son in the world, who is perfect in every way, I'm just...I'm extremely lucky." I said, looking deep into Kurt's eyes, Kurt smiling softly. Kurt kissed my lips gently, opening my mouth with his tongue, our tongues meeting and that spark I felt years ago being ignited once more, as it was everytime I saw Kurt. We broke apart, Kurt resting his forehead against my own.
"I feel the same. I can't believe how lucky I am to have you both in my life. I love you both so much. And for the record, you're the best Daddy in the world." Kurt smiled.
"We make a fine team, best Poppy in the world and best Daddy. We're the ultimate parenting team." Kurt giggled at my words, shaking his head and kissing my neck.
"That we are!" Kurt grinned and I laughed. Kurt once again snuggled close to me, swinging his legs around to come across my lap, and I moved one of my hands to rub up and down his leg gently. I sighed softly, pulling Kurt closer to me as he pressed play. This is perfection.
