Kurt inspects the list in his hand then looks up again at the row of books in front of him.  "It doesn't look like they have Rabbit, Run.  They have Rabbit Redux, though."

Blaine's face turns up from around a shelf, frowning a little, "Are you sure?  I was really looking forward to starting the series... Anything else by Updike?"  He stands next to Kurt, an arm already full of novels, and examines the titles in front of them.  "Ooh!  In the Beauty of the Lilies sounds interesting.  What's that about?"

Since Blaine's arms are already full Kurt shifts the ones in his to the crook of his elbow and flips the book over, reading the synopsis on the back with a somewhat dubious tone, "‘When a Presbyterian minister suddenly loses his faith and leaves the pulpit to become a salesman, he becomes a movie addict as well,'" Kurt clicks his tongue against his teeth.

"Interesting.  Add it to the pile," Blaine says before immediately moving down the aisle and around a corner to another section.  "What's next?"

"Blaine, don't you think this is enough?"  Kurt nearly trips over Blaine, who has crouched down to a lower shelf, his stack of books on the floor next to him.

"I'm a fast reader," is all Blaine says as he plucks another book off of the shelf and places it with the rest.

"I'm all for taking advantage of discounts but really," Kurt glances down at the list again where titles range from The Notebook to Ivanhoe to And Then There Were None.  "When the pile starts to become almost as tall as you are I think it's time to stop.  We don't have room for all of these."

Blaine heaves his collection of books back into his arms and stands up, fixing Kurt with a sassy glare before turning on his heels and asking again, "What's next?"

Kurt's eyes move down the list to the next item that hasn't been crossed off and immediately they narrow.  "Blaine.  I don't think we need this next one."

"A bit cocky, aren't we?"  Blaine throws back, apparently well aware of what's next on the list.

"If you think we need that then you might want to look into some self-help ones while you're over there," Blaine's already moving toward the shelves but Kurt can hear him laughing in response.

Kurt stares down at the words Kama Sutra scribbled in Blaine's neat handwriting and snorts derisively at it.  When he turns the corner to where Blaine is standing, his boyfriend already has his nose buried behind the pages of a book boldly titled,The New Bottoming Book.

Kurt face immediately heats up as he looks frantically around but breathes a sigh of relief when he sees no one else around them.  Grabbing the book out of Blaine's hands, he shoves it back on the shelf, "I'm not just being nice Blaine, but you really don't need that."  He smiles sweetly down at Blaine who just grins back at him.

"I'm flattered, but there's some really interesting stuff in there.  And look!"  Blaine grabs at a bright yellow book, "There's one for you, too!"  Kurt stares at the companion book, The New Topping Book and feels his face flush deeper.

"I don't know if I should be intrigued or insulted," but he sighs, relenting, "If I let you get those can we go back and get that sewing kit?"

"Are you actually trading sex for sewing right now?" Blaine asks, amused.

"I'm going to need something to do while you read all of those, aren't I?" Kurt gestures to the massive pile of books at Blaine's feet.

Blaine pouts a little, "I was sort of hoping we could go home and do some... reading together?  Maybe start on page 39?" Blaine pushes a green book in his arms toward Kurt, who flips to the indicated page.  Blaine watches as Kurt's eyes widen and then look around them once again.

"I--Well I've always been an advocate of learning," Kurt swallows, snapping the book shut and clutching it to his chest.

"Looks like quite the page-turner, hm?" Kurt can plainly hear the smugness in Blaine's tone as he kneels down to gather their books off the ground.

Kurt pushes at Blaine's shoulder a little toward the front of the store and hisses, "The sooner we leave the sooner you can read to me."

At home, the couple do plenty of reading yet a tall stack of books remains practically untouched.
