Heat had struck Ohio. Humid, unwelcome heat, Kurt thought where he sat huddled up in the shadows. Keeping his skin perfectly lotioned and his whole self hiding under a parasol, he watched as his friends laughed and played and dashed water around like this stupid heat didn't even affect them. If they only knew how much damage that unforgiving sun was doing to them, they would be rushing inside. But they remained ignorant, pushing each other and splashing water all across the lawn. A pool party. At Rachel's. Kurt sighed. He should have stayed home, he should have stayed inside and read Vogue and watched Project Runway. He should have-
All thoughts vanished when suddenly, right there in front of him, a wet and warm and glowing Blaine Anderson appeared. Dressed in nothing but red boardshorts, the ex-Warbler smiled as he sat down next to Kurt. The warmth of his skin radiated and Kurt watched in awe as tiny droplets of water chased each other down his boyfriend's chest. "Come play," Blaine said, begged almost, leaning in to kiss Kurt's neck, right beneath the ear and Kurt closed his eyes. "It's too warm," he whispered, but felt a sudden spark when his hand rushed up into Blaine's hair. His ungelled, wet, curly hair. Kurt's eyes remained closed as Blaine left slow kisses down Kurt's neck, slow and lazy kisses, and then suddenly, Kurt's body shuddered when Blaine's wet and warm and perfectly summer-y hand escaped up underneath Kurt's gray tank top. "I want to make out with my boyfriend in that pool," Blaine said, his voice low and sweet but yet so very demanding somehow. Kurt opened his eyes to look at his boyfriend.
Blaine's burning eyes had Kurt speechless. They were dark and unruly and full of a desire that sparkled incredibly, and Kurt blushed. All over, he blushed. Pulling his shirt of, letting Blaine kiss his lips tenderly there in the shadows before stepping out into the harsh and unkind heat. It was horrible. Those seven steps towards the pool were horrible, burning and melting and making Kurt regret every single one of them, until Blaine hopped into the pool and water splashed up across Kurt's legs, and Kurt saw nothing but the stars in Blaine's eyes as he encouraged Kurt to jump in after him. And for a moment, Kurt just watched his boyfriend's smile. It was lovely and wonderful and possibly every single word to describe something beautiful, and it was all for him. And Kurt leaped and jumped and splashed water across everything and everyone, and Blaine was right there when he found his footing, and the water was cool all around him, and Blaine was smooth to brush up against.
While their friends played and laughed and shouted all around them, Kurt and Blaine remained standing still, right there, right against each other, kissing and smiling and holding on to each other, completely ignoring the unfriendly heat. Blaine's skin was sunkissed and wonderful to touch. His eyelashes were wet and long and dark and in the following hour, Kurt changed his mind about the unkind heat.
End.
