A Klaine one-shot based around Taylor Swift's song I'd Lie.
Author's Notes: Disclaimer: I do not in any way own Glee or the amazing mind of Ryan Murphy and co. Unfortunately, I also do not own Chris Colfer or Darren Criss. Likewise, I own nothing of Taylor Swift's.A/N: Firstly, thank you for reading! This is based on Taylor Swift's song I'd Lie. It's quite a different style of writing for me so I hope I managed to make it work. Enjoy!

Kurt's breath catches as Blaine holds open the door of his car for him, gesturing for Kurt to sit down with a ridiculous (and completely adorable) flourish of his free hand.
Kurt knows he should be more upset; he and Blaine had just confronted Karofsky on the stairs and it hadn't gone as well as it could've. Kurt had also stupidly admitted that he had never been kissed before-at least not one that counted.
But all of that had seemed to disappear when Blaine had said those simple words: "Come on, I'll buy you lunch."
And so now he was getting into Blaine's car because that passenger seat was just too good to pass up. And so maybe Kurt is staring at Blaine for almost the whole of the drive to-well to be honest Kurt doesn't know where they're going, he just hasn't been paying attention-because, well Blaine is right there! Next to Kurt! Taking him to lunch!
So Kurt sits and tries to focus on what Blaine is telling him: They have Warblers practice tonight and Wes will probably abuse that poor gavel again, and no doubt he'll be bombarded with questions about why he skipped double Maths this afternoon, and then later on 'the guys' are having a Halo tournament, 'or maybe Call Of Duty' Blaine adds as an after thought, and Kurt can't help but find that utterly adorable and...well dorky!
And Kurt is trying really hard to focus on all of this but it's so hard when Blaine keeps looking at him with those eyes! And even though it's just quick glances between Kurt's face and the road, it's enough time to allow Kurt to just kind of count the colours in Blaine's eyes. If he had to, he would label them as hazel-but that just doesn't seem to cover it. Because hazel implies green and brown but there's also this amazing golden honey-ish tone that appears in regular specks in Blaine's eyes. There's some dark green, and then some lighter green. And even a few flecks of blue that Kurt can spot.
So hazel doesn't even begin to cover how amazing Blaine's eyes are. And Kurt's always been more attracted to blue eyes but-well he knows that he's already more in love with Blaine's eyes than he was ever in love with Finn as a whole.
And then Kurt realises that Blaine has just told a joke, though Kurt has no idea what it was (too busy staring at Blaine's eyes to focus on his mouth, which is also kind of ridiculously gorgeous!) so Kurt laughs along to-well whatever the joke was-but it doesn't really matter what the joke was because Blaine is laughing and Kurt just kind of falls in love with that too.
And then Firework comes on the radio and Kurt smiles to himself because-well because he knows Blaine loves everything Katy Perry! And Blaine is sitting there singing along just softly, and Kurt's pretty sure his brain just melted from how amazing he sounds without even trying.
And then Blaine's laughing, running one hand through his hair as if trying to dislodge the gelled curls Kurt knows are hiding there, as he swears that Katy Perry is probably the only person he'll ever love. So Kurt just kind of laughs along half-heartedly because-well that can't be right, can it? And then Kurt's thinking (kind of pathetically) that, well if Blaine needs someone to love that he is right there and ready to be loved-especially by someone like Blaine!

So now they're sitting in this gorgeous little caf, sipping lattes, and Kurt is still just sort of staring at Blaine. But this time with more curiosity than awe. Because Blaine is just looking around the room, smiling at the lady cooing over her baby on their right, grimacing when he hears someone break something out back, sweeping his eyes over Kurt's face with a smile before continuing to observe the room.
And Kurt's just a little confused because-well because surely it shows on his face? Surely Blaine should look at him and just have this little light bulb go 'Ding! Ding! Ding! Kurt loves you!' But Kurt has Blaine's face and all of his expressions memorised and there's no new expression on Blaine's face right now that could possibly say 'Hey, I've just realised you love me'. And so Blaine just sort of innocently overlooks the truth, and Kurt wonders how he manages to do that when-well surely it's obvious, right?
So Kurt just kind of pushes those feelings down a bit more because-well if Blaine can't see it now then Kurt doesn't want anyone to see just how very much he wishes he could call Blaine his.
So he sits there and listens to Blaine tell him about how the world is straightforward and just kind of simply black and white in his eyes; that there's the reason something happened and there's the consequences of what happened and that that's just kind of it really. And Kurt just falls for him that little bit more at the simplicity of his way of thinking.
And Kurt can tell that Blaine is hurting, can see how his eyes sort of glisten over slightly before his eyelids (which, and Kurt really thinks this is ridiculous, are kind of beautiful in his opinion) blink away the tears that had threatened to escape, no doubt because Blaine was thinking about his own bullies and how he ran from them.
And Kurt kind of admires that strength about Blaine; that he won't let anybody see him cry. But Kurt also secretly wishes Blaine would let down his guard just a little bit, because-well because maybe Kurt could help him a bit then.

And now they're just sort of standing outside of Kurt's locker (which Kurt doesn't really want to open in front of Blaine because of that picture he's got hanging up with the mini 'courage' collage) because unfortunately Kurt still has to go to French, no matter how good his grades are, so Blaine had driven him back to school.
And then Blaine's leaning just kind of casually against Kurt's locker, turning to him and smiling, whispering and leaning towards Kurt as he says something about having a good time at lunch.
But Kurt kind of can't breathe and so can't respond because-well because Blaine is really close to him right now and acting like the rest of this Neanderthal-filled school doesn't matter, that only Kurt matters.
So Kurt just kind of nods his head dumbly, licking his lips, and attempting to find a way to get air into his lungs which just don't seem to want to cooperate with his heart, which seems to be having it's own problems in the form of palpitations.
And then Blaine's looking up at him through his lashes and smiling in-well in the most amazing way Kurt has ever seen. And then just as suddenly he's walking away, leaving the school and heading back to Dalton.
And Kurt's really wishing he could have said something, could have said something like 'I'm holding every breath for you…' But then again-that sounds kind of creepy upon reflection.
So Kurt just leans against his locker for a minute, reminding himself how to breathe, and then grabs his books and heads to French, acting as if he hasn't just had the most amazing lunch with the most amazing boy in the world because-well because he doesn't want anyone to see how much he really loves Blaine already.

So it's a few weeks later and Mercedes is questioning him about his-well it wasn't a date he assures her-about how he and Blaine went to see Rent on the weekend. And Kurt just kind of starts gushing and telling her everything-or almost everything-because he's just so glad to have someone to talk to about this stuff-almost as glad as he is to actually have this kind of stuff to talk about!
And he's telling her all the random little tidbits he's managed to pick up and store in his mind. Like how Blaine's favourite colour is green, and how he loves to debate and argue, and that he was born on the seventeenth of July, and how he hasn't mentioned it yet but Kurt saw a guitar in Blaine's room and his hands are kind of coarse in a way that implies quite obviously that Blaine must play guitar (and Kurt doesn't admit it to Mercedes but he finds that really quite hot).
And how when they met at Blaine's house he had the opportunity to meet Blaine's family and well-his sister is so gorgeous, really beautiful! (And yet Kurt can't help but think that Blaine is the real beauty of the family-but maybe he's just biased, so he doesn't tell Mercedes this). And how Blaine has his father's eyes and yet-Blaine's eyes are still so very much his own in their own incredibly stunning way.
And Kurt finds himself admitting, kind of sadly, that he thinks Blaine can see through everything except his heart and that-and he doesn't tell Mercedes this-every morning when he's sitting down to do his moisturizing he kind of just wishes with everything he has for a miracle of some kind.
And then Mercedes is turning to him with an eyebrow raised and asking him, with a smile on her face, if Kurt loves this new dapper prep-boy he's found.
And Kurt just shakes his head and laughs because-well maybe it's a little too soon to be feeling so strongly for this boy. And maybe he isn't prepared to admit it to anyone just yet and maybe he just doesn't want anyone to see how much in love with Blaine he is after such a short time.
And so he finds himself lying with a simple, "No, Mercedes. I don't love him." When really-well yeah, he kind of really, with everything he has, honestly does.
