The investigators of 206 Baker Street - Chapter 2
This is a Klaine/Sherlock fanfic I have written about investigators Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson. The pair travel London investigating private crimes together and this is the first chapter of my fanfic which I wish to carry on. Please tell me what you think about it because I would love to know, thank you.

The letter had led two investigators to a small abandoned 4 storey flat on the outskirts of town. The walls of the property were covered with thick clusters of ivy and weeds that had begun to rot over the years and were slowly peeling away from the wall. It appeared as though the earlier owner had tried to black out the first floor windows with large pages of newpaper but over the years those too had began to sag and tear, reavealing some parts of the interior to passers by. The grass surrounding the flat had over grown and now stood knee high in some places and there were remains of a 'For Sale' sign carelessly slung on the cobble stone pathway that lead up to the front door.
Kurt cautiously glanced around for the 5th time as he and Blaine walked hand in hand up the path in silence. Blaine saw Kurt's wide eyed expression from the corner of his vision and grinned, squeezing he's partners hand in reassurance he let the torch he held in his other hand flick toward the ground so that they could see where they were stepping. Their footsteps echoed in the air and even their breathing sounded heavy in the dead silence of the night. Once they reached the entrance to the building Blaine handed the torch to Kurt and dipped his hand into his coat pocket, fished out the letter and unfolded it. Slowly he read the message aloud, "Dear Mr Anderson, I heard that you enjoyed riddles. Meet me at apartment 275 on Walker Street on the third floor at exactly 9:00pm and all will be explained. Don't arrive and you will face the consequences." Kurt glanced at his watch and confirmed that it was infact 9:01pm, "What should we do? I mean no one's here, we should leave.. it was probably a joke. You know what kids are like these days" he said to Blaine while trying to slowly edge his way back down the path.
"No.." Blaine shuck his head causing some of the combed back pieces of his hair to fall out of place "It says on the letter we have to go to the third floor, so guess where we're going?" Kurt looked up hopefully and asked "Home?" but Blaine just frowned disapprovingly toward him and turned his attention to the set of double doors that led into the foyer of the building. Blaine pushed on the left door gently several times but after the door didn't budge he rattled the handle and rammed his shoulder up against the glass frame until he could hear the hinges begin to groan and whine. After a while the hinges began breaking and large cracks had appeared in the glass, until finally the door fell to the ground with a loud bang. Blaine nodded, satisfied and stepped through the doorway and into the flat. He then spun on his heel, eager to see Kurt's approving gaze to find him instead gently push open the right side of the door and laugh as Blaine gaped at him. Kurt merely rolled his eyes in reponce, muttered "You always have to do things the hard way don't you Anderson" and walked over to Blaine.
They were stood in the centre of a small, dingy room that faintly smelled of rotting animals and mold. There were long rows of rusting mail boxes lining one of the walls and at the end of the small room there was a door that presumably led to a janitors closet. Next to the closet was an elevator and next to that there was a flight of stairs. There was also a rectangular fuse box next to the janitors closet, someone had clearly tried to yank off it's door but it still dangled from one of it's hinges. As the couple walked closer they could clearly see the cables inside had been cut so that the electricity throughout the building wouldn't work. Once they neared the stairs Kurt reached out and grabbed Blaine's hand, this suprised the boy a bit but once he noticed the nervous expression on his partners face he just squeezed Kurt's hand and pulled him closer. They then together began carefully trudging up the long flight of stairs. Some of the steps had begun to gradually rott away over the years so the pair had to ensure that they didn't stand on any broken steps. They each took it in turns to place one foot on the step above them to test if it would hold their weight and would then climb onto it and repeat the process.
As they got higher up the stairs both boys began to relax gradually until they finally gained the courage to whisper to eachother, "How far up is it now?" Kurt asked quitely. Blaine shone the torch up toward the spiralling staircase above them and squinted his eyes, making his eyebrows knit together. "One more flight I think" he whispered, still staring up at the stairs above them he allowed the beam of the torch to shine across the fourth floor landing. He was just about to bring the torch back down when he noticed a dark shadow looming over the edge of one of the banisters. He slowed down, trying to work out what the shadow could belong to.. It didn't move for a while but once Blaine slowed down to a stop it quickly lept back from the banister. Blaine moved the torch with it, and could make out the outline of a human between the shadows rushed movements; the person was short and had large bulky shoulders and didn't appear to have any noticable hair. Blaine tried to memorise as many details of the persons shadow as he could but after a few seconds it was gone.
"Kurt!" Blaine hissed as he ran past him and continued up the steps, choosing to take two at a time now "Did you see them? The person upstairs?" he shouted down to Kurt, no longer bothered about staying quite. "No, but whoever it was, it must have been who sent us the letter right?" "Exactly what I was thinking Kurt" Blaine replied as they reached the third floor, "Come on we can't loose them!" Blaine was already half way up once Kurt reached the third floor, so Kurt tried to pick up his pace. Taking three steps at a time he launched himself up the steps, using the banister to help support himself he quickly began catching up to Blaine. He felt safer being closer to him, knowing that Blaine would always protect him from anyone and smiled to himself. At the thought of this he pushed himself up faster, giddy with the thought of being with Blaine, of- Kurt heard a sickening crunch as he felt himself loose his footing and his left foot plunged through one of the steps. The sound echoed around the empty building and stopped Blaine in his tracks. The small boy yelped as his other foot scrambled to keep him up right and failed, causing that foot too to fall through the wooden step and drag him down with it.
