"Do you ever think about having kids?" Blaine allows the question to fall from his mouth well before he realizes what he's said. "I mean, not with me." A pause. "Not- not that I don't want to have kids with you. We're not even married yet."
"Yet?" Kurt smiles, lifting his head from Blaine's chest and glancing up at him with the most taunting smile lacing his lips. Blaine blushes profusely and stutters, yet again.
"I mean, I'm not assuming anything. We don't have to get married. I mean, god, do you even want to get married? I've never asked you that." Blaine's eyes widen. "I mean-"
"I hope that wasn't a proposal, because it was a shitty one." Kurt teases. Oh, he's swimming in how flustered and terrified Blaine looks right now. Kurt rolls his eyes and flicks Blaine's nose lightly. "Hey. I'm only joking." Blaine lets out a huge breath and rubs his nose where Kurt flicked it.
"You're awful." Blaine smiles slightly. "Only, no, you're really not." Kurt grins back up at him.
"I know." Kurt pauses and rests his chin back on Blaine's chest. "I do hope to get married some day. I'm not going to jump the gun and say to you, because I don't want to make that presumption either. But it's not a bad thought." He smiles wider. "And I do think about having kids, too." Blaine nods his head slowly and hums, staring back up at the ceiling the way he'd been doing before his little mental breakdown.
"Have you picked out any names, or is that just me? I've had my kids' names picked out since I was seven." Blaine admits, reaching down to run his hand through Kurt's hair absentmindedly. Kurt leans into the touch and wraps his arm around Blaine's waist intimately.
"It's not just you. I've had mine picked out for just about the same amount of time."
"I love the name Anthony." Blaine blurts. Kurt snorts.
"Anthony? That's so unlike you, Blaine. I was hoping for something more like Batholomew the Third." He giggles, squeezing Blaine's waist. Blaine laughs and pushes at Kurt's head gently.
"Oh hush, you." He groans, petting at Kurt's hair again. "Then what about you?"
"Annabelle." Kurt smiles, his tongue rolling out the name nicely. "Isn't it lovely?" He sighs happily.
"Ah, that is, indeed, a lovely name." Blaine nods, leaning down to place a soft kiss to Kurt's forehead. They share a few moments of happy silence, both mulling over each other's picked names, both overthinking the fact that they each want to get married some day, and both contemplating how they'd come to an agreement on names if they did have a child together. Moments, seconds, minutes later Blaine interrupts the solemn quietness. "I'm surprised you didn't pick the name Barbra."
Kurt waves Blaine off with his hand. "No, no. That's Rachel's name. She's had it claimed since she left the womb." Blaine nods slowly, pausing momentarily before bursting out into laughter. Kurt follows shortly after when he realizes how ridiuclous he sounds. They laugh on and off for a good ten minutes, nearly bringing themselves to tears with it. When they both stop laughing, Kurt leans up to press a soft kiss to Blaine's lips. A kiss that they both can't help but smile into. A kiss that promises many more to come, and maybe, just maybe, a real proposal in the future.
