“She’s so tiny.” Blaine’s voice was a whisper as he stared into the room, his brown eyes trained on a small pink bundle lost among the other newborns. He rested his knuckles against the cool glass, eyes stinging slightly as he kept his eyes on the little girl on the other side of the glass.

“She is,” came Kurt’s voice beside his ear as the taller man rested his hands on his shoulder, resting his chin there, his gaze following Blaine’s. “And so beautiful.” His voice was laced with something Blaine couldn’t make out: Happiness? Awe? Maybe a mixture of both? But whatever it was the dark haired one loved it, and he turned to pull the other’s into his arms.

The long hospital corridor was quiet as he gave a large smile to the other. “And she’s all ours,” Blaine murmured, looking back at the little girl.

“All ours,” Kurt echoed in awe, his lips pulled into a huge smile. His eyes swam with tears as he held close to Blaine, not believing they had come so far. From the chance meeting in the Lima Bean to this moment in time where they were beginning to start their new family.

Blaine looked up and caught Kurt’s glassy eyes. He turned fully and wrapped Kurt up in his arms. He kissed his neck gently before he let his lips find their way to the bottom of his chin.

Someone cleared their throat behind Kurt and Blaine, and they turned, their faces not even flushing at the kisses. A short plump women dressed in the generic blue scrubs was smiling at them, her hands clasped together as she took in the couple for a moment. “Anderson-Hummels?” she questioned, her large smile not leaving her face.

“Yes?” Blaine straightened up, and Kurt reluctantly stepped away, moving his hand down to intertwine their fingers.

“Would you like to meet your daughter?”

Kurt looked over at Blaine, his blue eyes large and bright. Blaine took a second to decide, turning back to the nurse before he smiled and nodded. “Of course.”

“Follow me,” the women beckoned, having them follow her into the room. She shushed the two new whispering fathers, laughing softly at the joy she saw in their eyes. She led them to the small cradle-like-thing that held the pink bundle, reaching in to gently lift the newborn. “Who wants to hold her first?”

Kurt raised his hand quickly and flushed, glancing over at Blaine, who nodded, his lips spread in a teeth bearing grin. “Go on,” he urged, stepping behind his husband, resting a hand on the small of his back.

Kurt followed the nurses instructions, holding the baby the way she told him to. He held her delicately, knowing just how fragile she was in this moment. He took in a shuddery breath, running his fingertips over the side of her face, the skin smooth beneath his own. A few tears spilled down his cheeks as he held the tiny bundle that was breathing within his arms. The tiny bundle that was his and Blaine’s. Kurt stared down at the baby girl, smiling happily. “Elizabeth,” he whispered, still a bit in awe over the bundle.

When it was Blaine’s turn to hold her, he chuckled to himself, reminding himself that this bundle of warmth was nothing like the large bundle of fur they had a home now. This was their little girl, Elizabeth Anderson-Hummel, the start of their family. Blaine felt his own tears stinging his eyes, his own breaths coming out shuddery and tight. He reached up, carefully running his finger over the little girl’s fingers. The small delicate fingers opened, and Blaine slipped in his finger in, his smile growing larger as they curled tightly around it. “She’s ours. And she’s so beautiful.” Blaine’s voice was broken and a whisper, tight and hard to control.

He looked over at Kurt, and without a second thought, he leaned over and pressed his lips against his favorite pair. He pulled away, smiling and his eyes bright with tears. “I love you.”
