Author's Notes: My friend Haley and I were under tornado watch when I wrote this. She had the idea. I had the words for it.
The rain slammed against the side of the Hummel-Anderson house with such force, cracks began to appear on a select few windows. Kurt was wrapped in a blanket, trembling in his husbands arms, and Blaine was slowly running his fingers through the taller man's chestnut hair. Kurt never liked thunderstorms, and this was proving to be the worst thunderstorm either man had been through.

A familiar tune, hummed from Blaine's vocal chords and grasped from a distant memory, swirled around them both, barely audible over the whistling wind and pounding rain. It was the first song Kurt had ever heard come from Blaine's lips.

You think I'm pretty, without any makeup on.

He snuggled farther into the warm sanctuary of Blaine's chest. It was only rain, and he and Blaine had so many good memories involving rain.

Kurt remembered a picnic Blaine set up one summer day their sophomore year of college. There was a wicker basket, a checkered blanket, and even a portable iHome to play music softly in the background. Blaine had thought of everything... except the weather. Ten minutes in, a large rain droplet fell onto Kurt's nose. His boyfriend giggled before kissing it off. Two minutes later, everything was ruined, but the iHome was still playing.

"May I have this dance?"

And they danced in the rain... even after the music stopped playing.

It was only rain.

A loud siren rang through the darkness, shattering Kurt's attempts to calm himself. Blaine tightened his hold on his husband's shaking body as a loud, foreboding voice came on over the storm.

"A tornado warning has been issued for all residents of Buckley, Pairing, and Hocking County. At around 10:13 pm Eastern Standard Time, a tornado landed outside Fairfield. Seek shelter immediately. Go to a pre-designated shelter area such as a safe room, basement, storm cellar, or the lowest building level. If there is no basement, go to the center of an interior room on the lowest level away from corners, windows, doors, and outside walls. Put as many walls as possible between you and the outside. Get under a sturdy table and use your arms to protect your head and neck. Do not open windows. This warning will be in place until 1:13 am Eastern Standard Time. Once again, a tornado has touched down in Fairfield. Seek shelter immediately."

Kurt began crying as Blaine lifted him off of the white couch and they made their way towards the basement door. He flinched at the first of many balls of hail rapping against their French doors. He didn't know why, but he couldn't stop the shaking breaths he took in at rapid intervals.

"It's okay sweetheart. I know how scared you are, but we are going to be okay." Blaine placed a gentle kiss to his husband's forehead before he made their way down the metal stairs. There wasn't much in their basement yet. Blaine wanted to make it into some sort of game room. Maybe they could have a pool table in place of the boxes of miscellaneous items... and random dining table. Kurt, on the other hand, wanted to make it his studio. Ever since launching his new line of clothes, Kurt wouldn't stop rambling on and on about how much more work he could accomplish if he had an at-home studio. Blaine sighed. He probably would cave sometime soon; he hated seeing that kicked puppy look Kurt gave him every time they discussed the topic. That, and he would do anything for his husband.

Blaine lowered Kurt and him under the long table covered in a white tablecloth. He pulled out his iPhone 7 and played the soft instrumental accompaniment of Phantom of the Opera's "Music of the Night". The glow lit the small space just enough for him to be able to see Kurt's pale face. Tear tracks ran down his soft cheeks, and Blaine sighed at how tragically beautiful he looked.

"Hey." He whispered, kissing his husband's wet cheek.

Kurt looked up and gave him a watery smile.

"I love you." Blaine watched the peaceful smile spread across his face.

"I love you too, Blaine." He pushed his head up to capture Blaine's lips in a sweet kiss. For a few minutes they forgot about the storm. Kurt nestled into the solid warmth of his husband's torso and almost started to drift to sleep.

"The Fourth of July is next week. Have any plans for watching fireworks?"

Kurt smiled against his chest, laughing softly to himself. "Mmm. There is this one man I plan on watching them with."

Blaine let a breathy laugh escape his mouth as Kurt pressed against his neck with his soft hair.

"Oh, really?"

"He has dark brown hair and a smile that can light up a room so quickly; he puts the sun to shame. He's a little short, but has a heart larger than the moon. And his eyes—" He sighed. "Oh my gosh, his eyes. Every time I look into them, I feel like I've entered another world with golden oceans and the greenest of grass." Kurt had enough time to smiled a little before his lips were caught by Blaine's. It was so heated and full of passion that Kurt found himself sway slightly. He would never get tired of Blaine's kisses; he would never get tired of Blaine kissing him. He turned to where he was straddling his husband's lap and surged forward even more. They broke apart and pressed foreheads together, panting lightly.

"That's nothing compared to the guy I get to lay across the grass with watching fireworks. He's perfect, whether he sees it or not. His eyes put the ocean to shame. The blues, greens, and greys crash together more beautifully than any wave could ever dream of. They always hold this spark that makes me see life in a new way. He's opened me up to so much that it's a wonder I ever survived before he came along. My life must have been so boring before him."

Kurt could stop the smile that took over his face. They kissed again.

"What did I do to deserve you?"

"No clue." Kurt laughed before a gentle roaring filled his ears. He jumped back into Blaine's lap the way he was before. Blaine brought the blanket around them both, clutching his knees so he could keep a shaking Kurt as close to his heartbeat as possible.

The roaring drowned out the music.

It grew louder.

And louder.

And louder.

"I found two more!" A bright light shined in Blaine's face and he instinctively tried to reach up to shield his eyes, only to discover that he couldn't move anything past his shoulders because of a crushing feeling all around him. He turned his head.

He was being crushed.

The Hummel-Anderson house was flattened.

Something moved against his chest.

Kurt.

"Blaine?" His voice was scratched and soft.

"Kurt. I'm here."

"It hurts so bad."

"I know. Some people are coming to get us."

"Blaine. It hurts!" Kurt's voice was heavy with pain and Blaine felt tears escape his eyes. He had to be strong for Kurt.

"I'm sorry, Kurt."

"Blaine." He was openly crying now.

The light was still on his face, even when it turned dark.

White. All he could see was white.

Shapes began forming. They were in a white van.

An ambulance.

Blaine turned to the side a broke down.

Kurt had blood covering half of his face, yet he was looking at him with the most loving expression Blaine had seen since their wedding day. His eyes traveled down the man's lean figure and stopped at a plank of wood sticking out of his husband's right leg. Kurt was still crying as Blaine reached for his hand weakly.

"I love you." They said those words together, and it was more than a statement. It was a promise.Rapid beeping filled the ambulance and Blaine watched as Kurt slowly closed his eyes. Panic flooded his senses.

"Kurt! NO! KURT!" He went to clutch Kurt's hand with his other, but stopped. Nothing happened. He felt light.

He refused to look away from Kurt, but he knew: his arm was gone.

He cried even harder as Kurt fluttered his eyes and whispered something Blaine was sure only he could hear.

"See you later, love."

He straight-lined.

Blaine's feelings stopped working, and for a moment he knew what it felt like to feel nothing. He vaguely heard someone shouting 'clear'.

They shocked Kurt once.

Twice.

Three times.

Four times.

Blaine's heart shattered as someone said the time.

"Time of Death: 2:17 am June 29, 2019."

His emotions returned just in time for a scream to rip through the air.

His scream.

He clutched Kurt's lifeless hand, and a cold feeling progressively swept over him. It felt as if someone was slowly injecting morphine into his body. His eyes began falling as the rapid beeping returned.

"The other one is going too!" Someone yelled, but it sounded fuzzy. It was like there was cotton in his ears.

"See you in a bit, Kurt." Blaine whispered. He wasn't sure why he said it, but there wasn't really a reason to question it before the light took him over.

When he awoke there was more white, only this white light was different. It didn't feel like the end, but the beginning of something fantastic. Off in the distance was something that looked like a large archway. The closer he became to it, the more he could make out a strangely familiar sound drifting around him like the very air itself.

Blaine stood there for a moment, pondering the sound. It sounded like someone's voice, but at the same time it was nothing like a voice. It was something more. He closed his eyes and progressed towards the archway again, the sound becoming clearer with every step he took.

It was laughter.

Blaine was running now, his eyes open and searching the basically empty landscape. He knew that laughter. It was Kurt's laughter.

He stopped. Some invisible force was preventing him from advancing through the large archway. Blaine wanted to cry; Kurt's laughter sounded as if it was right next to him, but his husband was nowhere to be seen.

Just as he was about to collapse onto the white, a pair of warm, familiar arms were encircling him, and pink lips were visible in his peripheral vision. A tear rolled down Blaine's cheek.

"I told you I'd see you later."

He turned to see Kurt standing there as perfect and whole as the moment he met him. Blaine took his soul-mate's hand.

"Yeah. Yeah, you did."

Kurt laughed again before they disappeared through the archway and into forever, sure to watch the fireworks together.

ohmygod, this is the sweetest thing ever. Just imagining it is choking me up! Good job :)

Oh...oh the tears...

(hides behind the unicorn) BLAME THE TORNADO WATCH! IT GAVE ME THE IDEA! Thank you for reviewing. It honestly means soooo much to me. Originally, only Kurt died, but as I was reading over the story... I changed it cause the way Blaine reacted made me cry so hard I couldn't even see the freaking computer screen. PS- Is it weird that I read your "WHYYYY" in Holly Holiday's voice when she yelled/sung it during Sexy? (shrugs)

WHYYYYYYYY. I can't even ahhhh I am sobbing.

I am so glad you liked it. I don't think you realize how much that means to me. I originally put this uup on fanfiction, but I put it up here as well to see if I could get any more feedback. Thanks again.

akdjskglfdjs that was amazing but sad ah I love it! sakfhsjdf

it's so incredibly sad that kurt and blaine perished in this tornado. but they will love together forever, in eternity–and that was comforting to me. that and they were able to watch the fireworks together.

I don't know why but this review just made me get all misty-eyed. (sniffles) I'm glad you liked it and me and Haley didn't COMPLETELY disappoint you. Thanks again for reviewing.

Ohmygosh. I'm crying now. That kind of reminded me of Charlie St. Cloud, except not really. This was really good, I love how he was humming Teenage Dream.

Thanks. Every time I read over this story I start crying a little... granted it's not as bad as when I actually wrote it down. The e idea gave me chills, but writing it down was just horrible. I actually said, "I'm sorry I have to do this! Blame Haley's sadistic mind!" when I was writing it. I'm glad you liked it though. I've never seen Charlie St. Cloud. It's pretty sad cause I was supposed to see it when it came out. (sigh) Thanks again for reviewing. It means a lot to me. :D

That was so sweet and sad, I cried at the end! Brilliant work.

So this story scared me, broke my heart and made me chuckle at Klaine. If one goes te other follows. Love it!
