"You know," Kurt began conversationally, turning from the movie to look at his boyfriend, "you would look fabulous in one of those red and gold scarves."
Blaine raised his eyebrow, turning away from the screen as well. "I'm sure you could pull it off much better than I could."
"While I'm sure that, yes, I would most definitely give most Gryffindors a run for their money, the colors would suit your skin tone much better than they would mine." As he said this, he reached his hand up to cup Blaine's face, gently skimming the pad of his thumb along the other's cheek bone. They shared an adoring look before Kurt pulled back, returning to his casual tone. "Besides, I'd be wearing Ravenclaw's colors: blue and bronze."
Blaine was about to argue, because surely Kurt would be in Gryffindor as well, but then recalled the traits of a Ravenclaw – intelligence, wit, creativity, and individuality – and thought better of it. That definitely sounded like Kurt. He almost let the subject drop in favor of continuing to cuddle when he thought of something else.
"Wait," Blaine said, because Kurt seemed to have put some thought into this and maybe his original comment wasn't as off-hand as it had appeared. "Why are you so sure I'd be in Gryffindor?"
"Oh, come on, Blaine." When it was clear that the younger still didn't get it, Kurt rolled his eyes. "One word: Courage."
"Hey, you can't base your whole argument on that." Blaine frowned a moment, thinking. "Maybe I'd be a Hufflepuff." His boyfriend snorted at this. "No, seriously. That's what? Hard work, patience, loyalty? I'd like to think I could fall in that category."
"Maybe," Kurt conceded. "You are all those things, but you really do just scream Gryffindor. Bravery, courage, chivalry. That's you."
Blaine opened his mouth once, saw the look on Kurt's face which clearly said this debate would only end one way, and shut his mouth once more.
"Fine," he sighed, admitting defeat. "I'll be in Gryffindor."
"Good." Kurt nodded and placed a quick peck on Blaine's cheek. He was obviously quite pleased with himself. "You can be the Harry Potter to my Cho Chang."
"They don't end up together, though," Blaine pointed out. "I'd much rather be the Harry Burns to your Sally Albright."
Kurt barely had time to say "Deal" before Blaine had taken his face in his hands and kissed him soundly.
"Mm. Ten points to Gryffindor," Kurt murmured against the other's lips.
"Only ten points?" Blaine grinned. For that, he received a smack from the other boy.
"Twenty points from Gryffindor," Kurt responded, "for sassing."
