Kurt and Blaine Anderson-Hummel walked into the living room, each of them with a toddler wrapped around their legs. They were in the middle of a race that only the kids were taking seriously. Or, at least, Blaine didn't think Kurt was taking the race too seriously. Until, that is, Kurt was scooping their daughter, Briar Elizabeth Anderson-Hummel and racing to the couch, running much faster now that all of that extra weight was picked up off of his leg. The little boy clinging to Blaine's leg had now seemed to have witnessed this crime and tugged on Blaine's arm, requesting to be picked up like his little sister had been. Blaine swiftly plucked his son, Kale Noah Anderson-Hummel off of his leg, throwing the chestnutcolor haired little boy with round, honey-hazel eyes over his shoulder and ran towards his husband, viewing his daughter's wide, blue-gray-green eyes grow larger, if possible, and her brown-black curls were flying, just barely contained by a small, white bow that matched her ice-blue dress perfectly, thanks to Kurt. Both newly-formed teams landed on the large, white, leather couch, the toddlers screaming and giggling profusely. Kurt and Blaine plopped next to each other, Blaine wrapping his arms around his husband and kissing his cheek before remembering how Kurt had cheated. He poked Kurt's nose, causing his face to scrunch slightly and his cheeks to flush with light pink.
"Yes, dear?" Kurt said through his deep breaths, still worn out from running and carrying a three year old girl throughout their entire house, said three year old now playing with her two year old brother, Kale giggling as Briar tickled him.
"Hummel, don't giveme those puppyeyes. You cheated!"Blaine said, laughing at his husband's innocent look. Kurt giggled, giving himthe tiny smilethatBlaine could never stay mad at, andtwisted his fingers through one ofBlaine'suntamed curls. Blaine sighed, kissing his husband softly, before picking Briar up andtickling her as she squealed.
"Papa, come save me!Daddy's tickling me! Daddy's got me!" Briar said through wild screams of laughter. Kurt got up,unsure of how to pry his daughter from Blaine, until he saw Kale, sittingon the couch andlaughing at his sister'ssqueals. Kurt picked his son up, tickling him and throwing him over his shoulder as he ran up the stairs toKurt's own room, decorated nicely with deep blue sheets and a lighter blueand white striped comforter with a modvibe. Blaine followed his husband up the stairs,Briar wrapped around his body, still trying to squirm away. Blaine finally released his daughter next to her brother on the king-sized bed in his and Kurt's bedroom.
Briarpushed herself under the covers before saying in a mischievous tone of voice that Blaine couldn't help butchuckle at, "Now you have us where you want us,but someday my prince will come andKICK YOUR BUTTS!" Kurt chuckled next to his husband before sitting on the bed and pulling the coversoff of his kids.
"We have avisitor comingin a few minutes, anyway, and maybe he'll be yourknight in shining armor," Blaine said, settling inthe spacenexttoKurt.Kale sat up, his head cocked tothe left with a questioning look on his face.
"Who was your knight and shining armor, Daddy?" He askedBlaine, his sister nowmimicking his look and asking the same question to Kurt. Blaine smiled at his kids before nudging Kurt slightly with his shoulder."I'll let Papa tell you this story, but we're each other'sknight in shining armor's." Blaine said, smiling at Kurtand remembering how they had first met on those steps on that day, the day that changed their lives.
"Tell it like a fairytale, Papa!"Briar shouted, giggling with excitement. Kurt smiled at her before taking a deep breath.
"Onceupon a time, there was a young peasant named Kurt. He was trapped in a sad castle with a mean troll and many nice people that made the castle seem tolerable. The evil troll was only mean to Kurt because he was confused and Kurt knew who he was, and he was proud of it. The troll was beginning to be intolerably mean and rude, making Kurt very sad. Then, on a particularly lonely day, Kurt's friends at the castle persuaded him to go out and check out the castle across the land. There, Kurt felt very safe. Very safe, that is, until he got lost. On his way down a long set of spiral stairs, he tapped on the shoulder of a gorgeous, handsome prince. Prince Blaine instantly stole the poor peasant's heart and took him to the choir room, where he serenaded him with a romantic song by some singer from a different land. After both Kurt and Blaine were released from their castles, they both ran to a faraway land in a city and started a family. Newly-crowned Prince Kurt and Prince Blaine ruled this land, even if nobody knew it but them. Eventually, they had two beautiful children; the dapper Prince Kale and his whimsical and spunky older sister, Princess Briar. All four of them lived in a big, beautifully decorated castle, with the occasional visits from King Burt and Queen Carole, the dashing princes Cooper, Finn and Noah, as well as their wives; princesses Rachel Hudson, Quinn Puckerman and Kate Anderson." Kurt finished his story, their kids staring up at him with admiration. Blaine smiled and added onto his story. "Don't forget about Princess Santana and her wife, Princess Brittany. They come to the castle once in a while.." Kurt cut him off. "Yes, they do, and they always manage to almost ruin our children's innocence." Blaine rolled his eyes at his husband and pecked him on the cheek before turning back to his kids.
"What happened next, Papa?" Kale asked, smiling widely with anticipation. Kurt smiled.
"And they all lived happily ever after, baby." Kurt said, looking on as his dream family smiled and giggled before going into a conversation about dinner. Kurt smiled to himself, muttering quietly, "My happily ever after ending."
