The words hurt more than they should have. Blaine had been called a fag many, many times before (including by his father), but somehow being called a 'disgusting animal faggot' by five members of the football team stung worse than the slushie he had gotten on his first day there. What made it even crappier was the look on Kurt's face - the struggle between burning anger and resignedness. Then something strange happened.
"Football players!" the track-suited woman barked. She pointed a finger at the leader, a bulky black boy that Blaine thought was named Azimio. "You! Go home. You're suspended."
The boy looked confused. "Wha? Hey, man, you hate them Glee kids as much as us. Why the hell are you givin' me a suspension?"
Blaine glanced at Kurt, who had a similarly shocked expression.
Sue Sylvester placed her hands on her hips. "Well, bucko, Porcelain and Eyebrows here may be part of that band of screeching acne factories Schuester calls a Glee club, but it's very clear that's not why you're throwing some very impressive insults their way." She paused for breath. "You're bullying them because they both happen to be gay, and that I simply will not have." Azimio started to protest, but Sue cut him off. "Spread the word to your idiotic team-mates - Porcelain is officially off-limits. That includes any and all 'accidental' incidents."
The football players shuffled off down the hall, muttering mutinously. When they were safely out of sight, Sue swivelled around to face Kurt and Blaine, still staring at her.
"What's the catch?" Kurt asked curiously.
Sylvester narrowed her eyes. "You rejoin the Cheerios. Without your hag." She pointed at Blaine. "I suggest you stay attached to Porcelain, Hobbit, because you're on your own when you're not with him."
With that, the tall woman strode off down the corridor, leaving two stunned boys behind her.
"Well," Kurt said lightly. "I think I'm going to like being back at McKinley after all."
