Still Falling

Kurt came through the door of the modest condo in a foul mood. He had been on the phone with advertisers for the better part of 5 hours that day and their unyielding insistence that they should be given some sort of deal and their reluctance to take him seriously just because he was in his early twenties never failed to grind at his nerves. He just wanted crawl in bed with Blaine and sleep until Friday. It wasn't until he made it to the bedroom and had kicked off his uncomfortable but gorgeous Kenneth Coles that he realized there was singing coming from the room down the hall. His husband's voice was indistinct, but he could have picked it out of a chorus of thousands.
He tip-toed down the hall, grateful he had removed the hard soled shoes now as he was able to move silently. By the time he reached the open door of the second bedroom his breath caught in his chest at the sight that was before him. Blaine was waltzing around the room with a tiny pink bundle in his arms as he sang:
Wise men say, "Only fools rush in"
But I can't help falling in love with you
Kurt's eyes filled with tears. He hadn't heard that song since he and Blaine had danced to it at their wedding while Blaine sang along in his ear.
With that thought in mind he crossed the room and slid his arms around his husband's waist. Blaine jumped a little, managing not to flinch or disturb the infant in his arms and finished the song.
Take my hand
Take my whole life too
For I can't help
Falling in love with you
"Welcome home." Blaine said. "You where working late." His tone was a little sad but compassionate as they stood, back to front, gazing at their tiny daughter.
"I'm sorry," Kurt said, trying desperately to keep his voice down. "Was she hard to get down?"
"Not at all," Blaine replied, finally breaking from Kurt's arms, only long enough to lay Elizabeth down in her crib. "She was an angel. Just misses her daddy." He said, turning to face his husband with a sweet smile.
"I hate that I work all the time. I am going to miss out on so much." Kurt leaned down to bury his face in Blain's neck. Automatically, Blaine wrapped his arms around him, tracing soothing circles down his back. "You are here plenty, and you are great with her, don't worry."
Kurt took a deep breath and pulled away a little in order to look at his daughter,
"She is so perfect." He said with a sigh
"Well she is ours." Blaine said with a grin and began tugging his husband toward their own bedroom.
