After a week of the whole school knowing about Kurt and Blaine, just about everyone had stopped talking about it, Karofsky hadn't been back to school since the locker room incident, and there hadn't been a single slushie thrown at any of the Glee kids. Needless to say, everyone seemed happy. Well, almost everyone.
"Finn, it's been a week, I think you can stop looking at Blaine like you want to puch him." Mercedes said, sitting down beside FInn in the study hall they shared with Kurt and Blaine.
"I don't trust him, why does Kurt even like him anyway?"
"Because he actually knows Blaine. Instead of assuming he already knew everything about him, he got to know Blaine and found out that he's not as bad as everyone thinks he is."
"He's a troublemaker. He's in Figgins' office at least once a week. Kurt doesn't need that kind of person in his life."
"Puck is in Figgins' office at least once a week too, but I don't see you treating him the way you treat Blaine." Mercedes pointed out.
"But Puck's different, he's my best friend and he's not dating my step-brother." Finn didn't understand why no one else was worried about Kurt dating Blaine.
"How would you know that Puck's different? You've never even talked to Blaine other than to chastise him."
"Yeah but-"
"But nothing. You need to stop judging him and maybe try to talk to him. He's really not a bad guy, he's good for Kurt and Kurt's good for him."
Finn looked over where Blaine and Kurt were sitting, both silently studying for their chemistry exam before looking back to Mercedes. "You seem to know a lot about him."
"I know enough. You should give him a chance Finn, he might surprise you."
"Fine, I'll talk to him, but I won't promise anything."
"All I'm asking is for you to try."
Finn sighed, opening his notebook to try and finish at least some of his algebra homework before it was due next period. He'd wait until after Glee Club to talk to Blaine that way he could decide what he wanted to say.
------------------
"What are you doing tonight?" Kurt asked Blaine while they were waiting for Mr. Schue to come in and give them their assignment for the week.
"My dad has a company dinner tonight that I'm being forced to go to. It's just a bunch of rude old men talking about who's better and who's richest. What about you?" Blaine really didn't want to talk about the dinner, especially the part he left out about having to take one of his mom's co-worker's daughter with him as a date so his father wouldn't have to answer questions as to why his son doesn't have a girlfriend
"There's a game on tonight so I'll probably just lock myself in my room with my newest copy of Vogue and my Wicked playlist, nothing exciting."
"That sounds a lot better than my dad's company dinner." It was times like this when Blaine envied Kurt just a bit. He didn't have to pretend to be someone he wasn't just to make his dad look good.
That was the end of their conversation because Mr. Schue walked in going on excistedly about the assignment he'd picked out for the week.
------------------
After a long hour of rehearsals, Mr. Schue sent them home, telling them to practice the group number they were performing at the end of the week.
"Hey, can I talk to you for a minute?" Finn walked up to where Blaine and Kurt were packing up their things.
"Finn, we really-"
"It's okay Kurt." Blaine interrupted. "What do you want Finn?"
"I know I've been a dick to you and you have no reason to think what I'm about to say is the truth, but I just want you to know that I'm sorry for how I've been acting and I would like to get to know you since you're dating my brother and all."
"Let me guess, Mercedes talked you into doing this?" Blaine asked, slinging his bag over his shoulder.
"She may have mentioned it."
"I figured." Blaine nodded. "Look, I know you think you know me, but you don't. I really do care about Kurt and I would never hurt him. And you're right, I don't believe that you're sorry for how you've been acting, so why don't you come back when you really mean it and we'll talk.
"Dude, I'm trying to be nice here and-"
"Well dude there's a difference in really meaning it and just doing it to make yourself look good. I'll talk to you, but only when you really care about what I'm going to say." Blaine didn't wait for Finn to say anything, he walked away and left Kurt and Finn standing alone in the choir room.
"Is he always like that?" Finn asked.
"No, he's just being defensive. It's not like you haven't given him a reason not to be defensive around you." Kurt answered before taking off after Blaine.
Blaine was almost to his car when he heard Kurt calling his name. "I really have to go, if I'm not ready for dinner by the time my dad gets home he'll-" He was cut off by Kurt kissing him. "What was that for?"
Why does it have to be for something? Can't I just kiss my boyfriend?" Kurt asked, wrapping his arms around Blaine's neck.
"Of course, I'm sorry." Blaine smiled, grabbing Kurt's hips and pulling him closer.
"If you get a chance, call me after the dinner, okay?"
"It probably won't be over until late, they always talk for hours after they finish with the actual dinner."
"I don't care, call me. I'll be up." Kurt leaned in and kissed Blaine again, not caring that they were in the middle of the McKinley High parking lot.
"Okay, I'll call you, but I really have to go now." Blaine said with a sigh.
"I wish there was someway you could skip it, you could come watch the game with us. I might even sit through it if you're there." Kurt whispered, placing kisses up and down Blaine's jaw.
"Kurt." Blaine whined, torn between having to go home and dragging Kurt into the backseat of his car.
"I'm sorry, you're just so- nevermind." Kurt pulling away, opening Blaine's car door." I'll talk to you later right?"
"Yeah. I love you."
Kurt smiled, ducking his head to hide the blush that heated his face. "I love you too."
Blaine chuckled as he got into his car, watching Kurt walk to his Navigator. He really has the most adorable boyfriend in the world, and as he sped off towards his house, he couldn't stop thinking about Kurt's offer to come spend the evening with him. Maybe he would have to miss the dinner this year, his dad's 'image' be damned.
