Two weeks after getting the news about having twins, Kurt and Blaine were getting ready for the opening night of the musical.
"We have exactly fourty-five minutes to get to the theatre Kurt, please hurry up."
"Instead of standing there rushing me, why don't you go call Lucy to make sure she's still going so we can look for her after the show."
"Fine, but if you're not ready in five minutes, I will leave without you." Blaine warned before heading to the living room to wait. Kurt just had to do a last minute wardrobe change.
Four minutes later, Kurt emerged from the hallway with a smile on his face. "I see you haven't left yet."
"It's only been four minutes."
"You wouldn't have left without me anyway."
Blaine shook his head and reached for Kurt's hand. "No, I would never leave you."
"Nor I you. Now, let's go." Kurt led the way out of the condo towards the theatre.
"Kurt, Blaine! Happy opening night!" Rachel ran up to them as soon as they made their way into the theatre.
"Thanks Rachel, you too. The chorus sounds amazing." Kurt hugged her, excited to be sharing this experience with his friends.
"Thank you, we've worked really hard. Are you guys coming to the party after the show?"
"Maybe, we haven't decided yet."
"Well you should, everyone will be there."
"Rachel, Blaine, come on, places are being called." Josh walked up to them, looking slightly nervous, it was opening night after all.
"Okay, we're coming." Rachel grabbed Blaine's arm and set off towards the stage.
"Blaine." Kurt called out. "Break a leg, I love you."
"I love you too. See ya at intermission."
"Come on Kurt, I have us some seats reserved." Josh motioned for Kurt to follow him.
Kurt watched Blaine and Rachel walk away before following Josh. This was a big deal for everyone involved, Kurt just wished his and Blaine's parents could've been there.
The first half of the show was a complete success. The audience seemed to love it and the actors were doing better than they ever had.
"Kurt hey, how is it? Are people liking us?" Blaine asked when Kurt came into his dressing room.
"It's amazing, everyone loves it."
"Good. I hear there are scouts in the audience, at least that's the rumor floating around backstage."
"Well if there are, I'm sure they're impressed. Everyone is putting their all into this performance, you guys look ten times better tonight than you did at the last rehearsal."
"We just want to make an impression, give people something to talk about."
"I'd say you're doing a fine job then, people are definitely impressed."
"What about you, are you impressed?" Blaine asked, giving Kurt a hopeful look.
"Absolutely." Kurt smiled. "I'm so proud of you Blaine, you're really great out there."
"I'm doing it for you, to make you proud."
Kurt took Blaine's hands in his. "I'm very proud of you. I'm always proud of you."
"Hey guys, five minutes until we start again." The stage manager popped his head into the room.
"Okay, thanks Ricky. That's my que. See ya after show."
"I'll be waiting for you. Break a leg." Kurt placed a quick kiss on Blaine's cheek before heading back to his seat.
"Kurt?"
"Yes- oh my God! Andrea, James?" Kurt was sure he was dreaming.
"Hey buddy, how are you?" James laughed at Kurt's surprise as he hugged him.
"Good, great. What are-"
"I called them, and your parents and made sure they got here for opening night." Lucy said as she came around the corner with Burt and Carole.
"Oh my- Lucy."
"Don't mention it. This is my gift to you and Blaine for opening night."
"Hey kiddo." Burt smiled, hugging Kurt.
"Hey Dad, it's good to see you."
"You too. We should probably go get seated, don't you think?"
"Yeah, that's- Uh, I'm sitting with Josh, I-"
"I've already talked to Josh, we have seats, let's go before the show starts again." Lucy linked arms with Kurt as they walked to their seats.
"So, this is a perfect opportunity to tell them about the twins."
"Ahh, that's why you brought them in."
"Maybe, maybe not, but you can't let this chance pass you by." Lucy winked.
Kurt just laughed once they reached their seats. She was right, this would be the perfect chance to tell them, but how would they bring it up?
Once the show was over, Kurt went back to Blaine's dressing room to warn him about their parents being there.
"Hey sweetie, how was the rest of the show?"
"It was amazing." Kurt said. "I have a surprise, well, it's Lucy's surprise for us, I'm just giving you a heads up."
"Oh, what is it? Are the twins-"
"The twins are fine, don't worry. Our parents are here."
"What? But they-"
"Lucy called them and got them here. She thinks we should tell them about the twins while they're here."
"What twins?" Burt asked. "Josh let us in, you guys were taking too long."
"Oh, uh, we uh-"
"Maybe you should all sit down." Blaine ushered their parents and Lucy into his dressing room and shut the door.
"Okay, what's going on?"
"Well, you know we had out first ultrasound done two weeks ago." Blaine started.
"Yes, you said everything was fine."
"Everything is fine."
"So the baby-"
"Babies." Kurt corrected.
"The- OH! You're having twins?" Carole was the first to catch on.
"Yep. There are two little Blaine's growing inside of me." Lucy said with a smile.
"But that means-"
"We're going to have two kids instead of one."
"Why didn't you tell us when you found out?" Andrea asked.
"Honestly, we needed some time to get use to the idea ourselves." Blaine answered.
"Also, we had no idea how to tell you." Kurt added.
"What do you mean by that?" James asked.
"We just didn't know how to bring it up."
"Well you had to know we'd be happy. As long as they're healthy, that's all that matters to us." Burt couldn't understand why they felt the need not to tell them.
"That's what I told them." Lucy spoke up.
"Of course we're happy, as long as they are growing and there are no problems." Carole agreed.
"I think this calls for a celebration, not only for the twins, but for tonight, you were amazing out there Blaine. How about dinner on us?" Andrea smiled.
"Mom, you don't-"
"I know I don't have to, but I want to, so let's go."
"Alright, there's no use arguing with you." Blaine laughed as he stood up.
"You're right. You're invited too Lucy, you're part of this family now." Andrea stopped Lucy from trying to leave.
"Oh, I uh- thank you Mrs. Anderson, that's very kind of you."
"Please, call me Andrea, you're carrying my grandchildren, you're family."
Blaine smiled at his family and Lucy. He's glad to see them accepting her, not that he'd been worried they wouldn't. He knew they would all love Lucy, it's impossible not to. He just wants everything to go smoothly, she is carrying his and Kurt's twins after all.
