After breakfast Finn went to work at the tire shop, Burt and Carole went out for a little time to themselves before Burt has to go back to Washington, which left Kurt and Blaine alone at the house.
"What do you say we wrap your hands now?" Kurt asked after putting the last plate in the dishwasher. He took clean up duty so he could have alone time with Blaine while everyone else went out.
"Sure, sounds good." Blaine stood up and followed Kurt upstairs to the master bathroom.
"So what possessed you to stop using gloves?" Kurt asked as he started cleaning the cuts, trying to be extra careful.
"I don't know really, I guess I just wanted to feel something." Blaine said, refusing to look at Kurt, instead focusing on him cleaning his hands.
"Hmm, this isn't the best way to try to 'feel' something, but it could have been worse. Did it work?" Kurt was trying to keep him voice calm and normal, he didn't want Blaine to think he was upset or judging him.
"For a while yeah, and it hurt like Hell, but after that I couldn't feel it anymore, which meant I also couldn't tell when to stop." Blaine wasn't sure why Kurt wasn't judging him and telling him he was a horrible human being, but it felt nice to just have someone who wasn't wasn't judging him, he already did that to himself.
"I can see that, some of these cuts are pretty deep. Just a suggestion, maybe you should lay off the boxing until your hands heal up."
"Yeah, you're right. Kurt, thank you, if you hadn't shown up, I would have kept going." Blaine felt the self hatred flowing through his body. He didn't deserve this kind treatment from Kurt.
"Don't worry about it, I said I'd do anything for you Blaine and I meant it."
"But why? After what I did to you, you should hate me, I know I do." Blaine hadn't actually told anyone what he was feeling until now.
"I did hate you Blaine, I really did. Then I'd hate myself for hating you, then I'd hate you for making me hate myself. After I while, I just got tired, and I realized I had let all of the pain I was feeling turn into anger and hate. That's not me, I may dislike people, but I don't hate them, and I especially don't hate you. So I let go, I told myself to move on and accept it, and I did, and now I'm finally starting to feel okay." Kurt siad as he bandaged Blaine's hand, he hadn't meant to tell Blaine all of that, but once he started talking, he just couldn't stop.
"Y-you moved on?" Blaine asked, failing to keep the hurt out of his voice even though he knew he had no right to be hurt by that.
"I guess in a way I did, but that doesn't mean I've given up." Kurt said honestly, moving to clean the other hand.
"How do you still have hope? I cheated Kurt, cheated." Blaine said, tears coming to his eyes.
"I can't believe you have to ask me that. I have faith in us because you're my soulmate Blaine. I-I still need time to get over what happened, and I need us to fix our trust, but you're the one for me Blaine. I knew it the day we met on those stairs at Dalton. You're something very special Blaine, and it kills me that I let you down, and made you to where you can't see it. I will do any and everything I can to make you see that you are still that same person, still the loving and caring boyfriend I gave my virginity to. Anything Blaine." Kurt finished wrapping Blaine's hands and took them carefully in his and kissed them gently.
"Kurt, I was the one that screwed up, I broke down and gave in."
"Yes, but if I had been there for you to talk to, if I'd just listened to you, you wouldn't have broke. We both have blame here so don't try to carry it all yourself. Now, why don't we take this conversation back to my room with a movie of your choice?" Kurt asked pulling Blaine up and wrapping his arms around his waist.
Sounds good, can we watch The Little Mermaid?" Blaine asked, his eyes lighting up for the first time since Kurt had been back.
"Yes, absolutely sweetie, whatever you want."
"Thanks Kurt, really." Blaine said, kissing Kurt's shoulder, wanting to make sure he knew how thankful he was.
"Don't thank me Blaine, I love you and care about you. I'm doing this for me just as much as I am for you." Kurt said as they laid down on his bed. Kurt pulled Blaine over to lay his head on Kurt's chest. He just needed to be close to Blaine and he knew Blaine needed to be close to him. They still had stuff to talk about and get figured out, and Kurt knew things were far from fixed, but non of that mattered because at that moment it was just Kurt and Blaine, nothing else.
