Author's Notes: So, I've rated this fic that for now but it very well may change. Obviously for this chapter it isn't necessary but it definitely will be when the story progresses. I hope you enjoy it, and I'm going to try my damned hardest to get this story done. This first chapter is more of a filler if anything, and the other chapters will most definitely be longer and more detailed than this one, so don't worry! :3 I would really appreciate and constructive criticism you guys may have and I thank you for reading it.Seriously, thank you.

Blaine had spoken to Rachel and she had given him some excellent advice.

“Go for it. What’s the worst that could happen?”

So he had. Blaine Anderson had bitten the bullet and gone for it.

Blaine waited until the hallway was empty, until he knew he’d be there, hairspray can at the ready. Cheerio practice had been cut short today because Sue Sylvester had rapidly run out of protein shakes, something that had absolutely nothing to do with Blaine and Rachel… at all.

As the last Cheerio turned the corner, waving her delicate fingers in his direction Blaine knew he had to do it now. Speak now, Blaine thought, or forever hold your peace. He shook his head, now was so not the time to think of traditional wedding quotes.

Blaine started walking, moving at a brisk pace so he couldn’t back out. Oh god, he was going to laugh at him. Maybe if he just kept walking, followed that daft cheerleader he’d be able to avoid the humiliation. Maybe-

“Hi, Blaine.”

Oh.

Right.

“Kurt,” Blaine said, casting his eyes to the floor, a deep red crawling up his neck. “How are you?”

“Ugh, annoyed, Coach Sylvester cancelled Cheerio practice ten minutes in. I messed up my hair for nothing.”

Blaine thought Kurt was ridiculous, his hair always looked nice.

Kurt turned from his mirror, after nodding his own approval, and stared at Blaine. They had Glee Club together, and a few other classes, so they had spoken a few times before. He never failed to notice gel-obsessed Blaine Anderson. Or his cute little bowties.

“Did you want something?”

Blaine had to go for it, he had to. Rachel would kill him if he backed out now.

“I-uh, I was wondering if perhaps you’d maybe possible want to go on a date. Uh… with me?” Blaine stammered, never looking directly at Kurt, but at Kurt’s locker and the mirror which allowed Blaine to indirectly look at Kurt’s reaction.

Kurt was shocked, to say the least. Here was a boy, a cute one at that, asking him out on a date. A real date. He’d never been on a proper date before.

“um…”

“You don’t have to!” Blaine was quick to amend. “I mean, why would you want to, I’m me and you’re you and when in a million years would you say yes to me I mean, never mind, it’s just absurd it’s..”

“Yes.” Kurt said, eyes shining as Blaine finally looked at him.

“Yes. Yes? Yes! I-uh, okay, cool. Um, I’ll pick you up at 6?” Blaine cursed himself for letting his mouth babble the way it did when he was nervous, stuttering and making him look like a fool.

“Sure,” Kurt grinned, one of his eyebrows raised. “See you then, Anderson.”

Kurt closed his locked, turned on his heel and strutted down the hallway, in a way that left Blaine no doubt that Kurt knew he’d watch him go.

Blaine stood still for a moment or two, absorbing what had just happened.

The smile was small at first, but then it grew until it reached his eyes and caused his whole face to light up.

He did it. He’d wanted to do it for weeks now and finally, finally he had done it. Blaine chuckled to himself and ran to the car him and Rachel ‘shared’. Thank god for Rachel’s persistent and persuasive nature.

“Rachel! Rachel!” He shouted, flinging the door open and jumping into the passenger seat. “I did it, Rachel! I asked him on a date and he didn’t shout at me or call me a nerd or anything! He said yes!”

Blaine’s enthusiasm was contagious and soon Rachel, his sister, and sometimes only friend, was grinning and hugging him, muttering “I told you so” over and over until they reached the Anderson household.

Blaine was feeling incredible. He’d liked Kurt from a distance for weeks, months, even. He’d spilled it all to Rachel when she’d heard him crying in their shared room and he’d first come out to her. He was relieved that his ‘gaydar’ wasn’t off and that Kurt was actually interested.

How on earth did this happen to a boy like Blaine Anderson?
