Author's Notes: Sorry for the late update!I've been super busyenjoy!

The doctor came into Blaine’s room the next morning.

“I have some...disappointing news.” She started. “We’ve taken Blaine off of the medication keeping him in a comatose state; however his body isn’t reacting in the way that we had hoped”

Blaine’s mom looked confused at the doctor, her eyes welling up with tears as she tried to conclude what the doctor was saying.

“It means that there’s no reason for him to still be comatose, but he is.” The doctor added. “We’ve given him more medication to ease him out of it, but there’s been no luck so far. We’ll give him a higher dosage tonight and hope that by morning he’ll be awake.” She pulled her clipboard to her side. “But we can’t tell anything right now, we’ve just got to sit tight and see what happens tomorrow” She nodded finally at Blaine’s mom and then left the room.

“How is he?” Kurt asked a few hours later, brushing some hair from Blaine’s forehead and kissing it gently before taking a seat in the chair next to his bed.

“He’s not waking up” Aaron said softly. “They’re not keeping him in a coma anymore...he should’ve woken up yesterday but he hasn’t”

Kurt sighed, rubbing his hand over his face before turning back to Aaron. “Was it Riley? Who did it?”

Aaron nodded at him shakily and Kurt stood up, Aaron reaching out for him when he did.

“Don’t.” He said urgently. “Don’t go after him...please”

“I won’t” Kurt promised. “I’m gonna settle this though.”

“How?” Aaron’s voice cracked a little bit, but he couldn’t let Kurt walk out of here and potentially get himself in a worse position than Blaine.

“Sebastian.” Kurt said simply before leaving the room, leaving a very confused Aaron still at Blaine’s bedside.

Aaron waited until Kurt closed the door before turning to Blaine.

“It’s all on you, baby” he said quietly. “You’ve gotta wake up now”

He looked up to Blaine’s heart monitor, listening to the steady beeping as his heart continued.

“I dunno what your man’s doing but I think he has a plan to sort all this out...but that just means that you’ve gotta wake up” he pleaded. “You’ve just...you have to.” He paused. “It’s been a week now. You can’t keep this going much longer...”

“He will” Santana said simply from the doorway. “Look, I know you want him to wake up. We all do, but your moping is giving me a headache.”

“Santana-” he scolded.

“No. I’m sick of acting nice to you” She said, stepping further into the room. “Don’t give me that look. Blaine would punch you if he was awake right now. You need to get out of here...go spend some time at a bar or something, have a bath, I don’t give a fuck, but you can’t just sit here all day waiting for him to wake up. When he does, we’ll get a call.”

“I want to be here when he does” Aaron insisted.

“Even Kurt’s left for a while. I’m taking you out, Cooper.” Santana walked over and tugged at his arm. “Come on. You’re taking me for lunch”

“Santana...”

“No. Come on.”

“Where’s Bas?” Marc asked.

“He’s with Kurt. Kurt needed his help with something...” Aaron answered vaguely.

“Oh right. Yeah, makes sense.” Marc nodded, taking a sip of his coffee.

“What does?”

“Sebastian’s family are the Smythe’s. They’re the most well known lawyers in the country; his parents are the best lawyers you’ll find anywhere. They owe Kurt a few favours anyway; he’s probably sorting out whoever hurt Blaine.”

“They have no proof” Aaron said bluntly. “We’ve already talked to my lawyer...we have literally no proof that it was him and there’s nothing they can do”

Marc just smiled a little. “That’s alright. They don’t need proof when it comes to the Smythe’s. They’re very good at their jobs.” When Aaron looked unconvinced at him, Marc just chuckled and slipped into a chair next to Aarons. “I’m guessing you don’t know half of the things that Kurt and Sebastian did when they were younger. It’s not exactly my place to tell, but Sebastian’s dad has saved their ass more times than I can count.”

“So you trust him to do this?” Aaron asked.

“Don’t sweat it, Aaron. Whoever did this to Blaine will be in prison within a month, I swear it.”

“Yeah well we’ll see.” Aaron grumbled, drinking the rest of his coffee and tossing the cup into the bin.

Nick shoved the door open and ran into the waiting room, Marc looking up and smiling sympathetically at him as Jeff followed into the room just a moment later.

“Hey, is he okay? Where is he?” Nick gushed.

“He’s in a coma...we don’t know when he’ll wake up.” Marc replied sadly, nodding to the chairs next to him for them to sit down. Jeff placed a hand on Nick’s back as they walked to the seats.

“What even happened?” Jeff asked.

Marc looked to Aaron for him to talk, but the doors swung open before he could move and a tall man, about 22 stormed in, his blonde hair spiked messily and blood dried on his cheek from his temple. He locked eyes with Aaron, who jumped out of his seat and dived towards him, Marc instinctively grabbed Aaron’s waist and held him back against the other man who looked like a dear in head lights.

“YOU!” Aaron yelled, he was gasping for air as he fought against Marc, and now Nick and Jeff’s grip on his waist. A security guard moved between them, placing his hand on the other man’s shoulder and moving him into another room.

Aaron was still fighting against the hold on him after the man left the room, they managed to wrestle him back into his seat where Aaron was shaking slightly and moved to put his head in his hands.

“Who was that?” Jeff asked softly.

“Riley.” Aaron spat, as if the word itself offended him. “He’s...he did it.”

They all sat in silence, waiting until Aaron calmed down. Nick and Jeff whispered quietly to one another. A very tall smart looking man walked into the room in a suit about 10 minutes later, and Marc stood up immediately to greet him.

“Paul, good to see you.” He reached out his hand and shook the older mans.

“Marc, it’s been a while! Tell your mom and dad to come over for coffee some time.” Marc just smiled and nodded and Paul let go of his hand. “I’ll see you soon, got something to deal with,” he rolled his eyes dramatically and then disappeared down the corridor.

“That’s Sebastian’s dad. Looks like they’ve already caught that guy.” Marc said, grinning at Aaron.

Aaron didn’t smile back, he just drew his eyes away. There was no point in getting his hopes up, things didn’t work out like this, not in real life. In movies, sure. The bad guy always gets caught, the victim wakes up and they all live happily ever after. But in real life that stuff didn’t happen, that’s why people make movies. False hope.

Aaron looked up a few minutes later at the sound of Riley’s voice and saw Kurt and Sebastian walking with Sebastian’s father into the waiting room.

“-and you must tell your father to stop by when he’s back from London, Kurt. You just must.” Paul insisted.

“Of course. Thanks for doing this, Paul.”

“Always a pleasure. Let me know how Blaine’s doing in a few days,” He turned to Sebastian. “Stay out of trouble.”

Paul smiled and waved at Marc on his way out, and just as Aaron was about to question Kurt about what happened, two police officers escorted a handcuffed Riley out from the room, his head dropped and a firm hand of an officer placed on his shoulder.

“What the...” Aaron mumbled with wide eyes which stalked Riley’s exit from the room.

“Little fucker tried to deny it.” Kurt commented as he sat down a seat down from Marc to leave from for Sebastian. “It’s alright, he’s going to prison.”

“How did you manage that?” Aaron asked Kurt and Sebastian accusingly.

“Sebastian’s dad-”

Kurt was cut off by the sound of doctors and nurses rushing past them through the waiting room into Blaine’s room. As the door swung open, the obnoxious loud beeping from the heart monitor blared out, and one look at Aaron had both Kurt and Aaron running towards the room. They were stopped outside by a nurse who insisted to let the doctors see to him. The last thing Kurt heard before the door slammed was the loud voice of the doctor yelling:

“Stand by....clear...”

End Notes: TBCI'm sorrrrrrrry! I'm mean I know. Also sorry this chapter is so short, but things will be happening soon...just waiting on Blaine's state to change in my head. But he's refusing to cooperate!
