“This is the 17th text. What the hell is up with them today?”
“Marc, if I knew that do you think I’d be sat here?” Marc glared at him, slamming his coffee cup onto the table. “I’m sorry.” Sebastian looked apologetically at him. “I’m just...it’s never been this intense before.”
“It has, it was worse than this once. Just stop taking it so personally! You know what they’re like, it just hasn’t happened in a while.” Marc pulled the lid off of his coffee and drank the last of it. He placed the cup back onto the table and stood up. “Why don’t you come find me when you’ve stopped panicking over a piece of gossip which doesn’t even involve you.”
Sebastian watched him leave and then pulled his phone out, dialling Kurt’s number. It went straight to voicemail, so he tried a different tactic.
“Hello?”
“Mr. Hummel, it’s Sebastian.”
“Oh Sebastian, hey buddy how are you?”
“Not bad, not bad, I was curious...is Kurt around?”
The line went silent for a few moments, then Sebastian heard Kurt’s voice.
“What is it Seb?”
Sebastian paused.
“You’re...at your parents?”
“Yes. I came here from the airport instead of going to school, my dad’s back from Paris. Why?”
“The gossiper’s back.”
“I don’t see how that has anything to do with me...is that how you knew I was here?”
“No. But it’s why Blaine thinks you’re breaking up, it’s why he thinks you’re cheating on him and it’s why-” Some people in the coffee shop looked up at Sebastian at the sound of the gossip being confirmed, but one look at them drew their eyes away from his.
“Woah, back the fuck up.” Kurt snapped, his voice irritated. “Why does Blaine know anything about this? Smythe, we agreed to keep him in the dark,”
“Calm down Hummel. I only told him once he started getting texts. Look, this isn’t the point. The first text Blaine got said that Troy was seen leaving your room this morning in his underwear...clearly you weren’t even there, so you need to talk to him and explain this. I’ll find Troy. Call me back later and get back to Dalton as soon as you can.”
“I’ll be back tomorrow morning, find Troy...send him to wait in my dorm, I’ll meet him there tomorrow morning. Stay with him, bring Marc if you have to just don’t let him leave. The gossiper never works this kind of thing alone, this could be what we need.”
“Tomorrow morning.” Sebastian confirmed.
“I’ll call Blaine and see you tomorrow.”
“Good luck.” Sebastian finished the call.
Sebastian stood up from his chair and sent a quick text to Marc, filling him in on what he was going to do. On his way out of the store, he ran into Nick.
“You look...determined.” Nick laughed.
“Yeah,” Sebastian chuckled too. “The gossiper’s back...I’m sure you know, and Kurt’s taking it a bit personally this time.”
“Oh god they have Blaine’s number don’t they.”
“How’d you guess?” He grinned sarcastically. “Anyway, I gotta find Troy, wanna give me a hand?”
“Oh yes.” Nick smiled widely and turned around to walk alongside Sebastian to his car.
“You really hate him don’t you?” Sebastian climbed in and started the engine as Nick pulled his seatbelt on.
“I have a million reasons.”
“Oh I know.” He smiled and then paused as he pulled out of the parking lot. “Alright, where would he be?”
“Not at Dalton, he’s not here...I think that leaves one other clear place.”
“You know what Nicky, I think it does.” Sebastian laughed and Nick scoffed at him.
“Let’s go, Sebastian, before I change my mind about being your friend.”
*
“Unknown number...” Santana slid Blaine’s phone across the floor towards him. He picked it up carefully and stared at it. “Answer it, Anderson, before I break your arm for having the fucking Pokmon theme tune as your call tone.”
Blaine glared at her jokingly and clicked answer.
“Hello?”
“Blaine, it’s me.”
“Kurt.” Blaine said, standing up and walking towards his kitchen. He opened his refrigerator aimlessly and stared at the items of food, without a thought to eat any of it as Kurt spoke to him.
“I know what you saw, well I know the basics of it. Sebastian called me. The gossiper, this person, they say this stuff but it’s probably true.” He admitted.
“What the fuck do you-”
“Just listen. It’s probably true. But I’m not at Dalton, my parents came home from Paris so I’m visiting them, I didn’t even go back to Dalton from the airport. Troy has a thing against me, also Nick but that’s his own story. Since you two broke up,” he ignored Blaine’s comment of “we weren’t dating”, “he’s had something against you too. Troy likes to create trouble, he knows exactly how to do that so everyone will see it. I’m dealing with him tomorrow, I just...you need to know that I haven’t cheated on you, and I won’t.”
“I’m sorry.”
Kurt laughed, and Blaine shut the fridge in confusion.
“Why are you laughing?”
Kurt chuckled a few more times. “Why are you sorry?”
“Because I believed it.” He admitted softly, he heard Kurt sigh.
“You had every right to believe it. I didn’t exactly expect you to listen to me as easily as you have. You’re one of the most argumentative people I know, Blaine. You don’t listen just because someone asks you to; you only listen if you’re forced to.”
“That’s not true!” Blaine objected with a smile.
“It’s so true. But I’m glad you listened to me.” He paused. “I love you.”
“I love you too. Turn your phone on for once...I don’t like not being able to talk to you.”
“It’ll be on tomorrow. I have to catch a flight tonight, we’re going to LA, but I’ll be home by morning.”
“You’re going to LA...for a few hours?”
“For business, it’s a long story. It won’t take too long though.”
“Do you know who this gossip person is?” Blaine asked, leaning over the counter top in the kitchen.
“I have...a few ideas.”
“Do I know them?”
“That would be telling.” Kurt grinned.
“You’re meant to love me...” he compromised.
“Oh don’t do that, you know I love you.” He heard Kurt laugh a little.
“Then tell me” he pleaded.
“Hmmmm... I miss you.” Kurt admitted.
“I miss you too. That doesn’t answer my question though.”
“You’ll get an answer one day, I swear it. But for now I’ve gotta go. Our flight was meant to leave 5 minutes ago but I made them hold it.”
“You held up a flight for me?” Blaine asked.
“Don’t sound so surprised. I’ll call you tomorrow. I love you.”
“I love you too, have a safe flight.”
*
Sebastian was holding Troy up by the scruff of his shirt, his back pressed painfully into the wall behind him and his toes only just touching the floor. Nick and Marc stood at his flanks.
“You’re gonna tell us where this photo came from.” Sebastian hissed at him, holding a photograph with his other hand up to Troy’s face.
“I-I-are you serious?! It’s just a photo!” Troy said breathlessly, fighting against Sebastian’s firm grasp on his shirt.
“Oh we’re serious.” Nick fought.
“We’re done with you interfering with our lives.” Marc added. “We gave you a break when Blaine took an interest in you, and surprisingly, that’s when the Gossiper disappeared for a few months.”
“But now, you’ve taken things a bit too far.” Sebastian concluded. “You’re dragging people into this who never wanted to be involved.”
Troy chuckled. “I’m not the gossiper, you know.”
“Oh we know.” Sebastian replied, tightening his fist on Troy’s shirt and hoisting him further up the wall. “But you know who it is, and we’d like to know your information.”
“I don’t know anything” he complained. “I didn’t even take this photo!” Sebastian dropped it to the floor.
“Why were you in Kurt’s dorm last night?” he questioned.
“He asked me to come over-he said that-”
“Cut the bullshit.” Nick spoke up. “Kurt’s not here.”
“He asked me to come over-” Troy repeated. Sebastian sighed and dropped him to the floor, Troy clearly wasn’t expecting it because he collapsed to a heap on the floor.
Sebastian turned away and ran his fingers through his hair. “Can you two do something with him please,” he left the room.
Marc turned to look at Troy on the floor, who was scrambling into a sitting position and tugging at his shirt to straighten it out.
“Alright, talk.” Nick retorted.
*
Kurt followed his father into the office, both of them slipping into adjacent chairs opposite an empty desk. A tall man walked in dressed in an expensive suit, he shook hands with both of them.
“Arthur Hilsby, Ralph Lauren chief executive, it’s good to finally meet you both.”
They both thanked him for seeing them and took their seats.
“So, what are we looking at here?” Burt spoke.
“Well, Kurt,” he turned to look at him. “We are prepared to offer you a designer position at our headquarters in Paris. You’ll be given housing, a car and we can guarantee that you’ll be on standard pay for anyone else in that role.”
Burt smiled, but Kurt frowned a little bit. “What about school?”
Arthur flicked through the papers in front of him. “From your progress and your references...we are prepared to sort out an early graduation for you, you could potentially be working in Paris by the end of January.” He paused at Kurt’s disgruntled face. “Is that...okay?” he looked pointedly between Kurt and Burt.
“Kurt?” Burt prompted.
“That sounds perfect, thank you for the offer.”
Arthur smiled. “You have until January 5th to make a final decision. We await your call, have a good Christmas.” He signalled for them to leave the room.
Burt followed Kurt’s lead and they headed back to their jet. Once they were seated and headed back for New York, Burt broke the silence.
“What was that hesitation about, Kurt?”
“It’s just...very sudden.” He admitted.
“If this is about your new boyfriend-”
“It’s not.”
“Well, if it was, I’m sure you’d be able to make an informed decision on that part.”
“I know Dad.”
“Good. Your mother and I are flying to London tonight; we’ll be back on the 24th”
“I look forward to it.” Kurt smiled at his father.
“As do I son.” Burt patted Kurt’s arm with his hand and grinned.
They fell into a comfortable silence for a while longer, as they always did. Burt turned to look at Kurt for a few moments before speaking again.
“Maybe you should invite your boyfriend to spend some of Christmas with us. I mean, I don’t know what he’s doing but your mother and I would love to meet him.”
Kurt smiled. “I’ll ask him.”
“We’ll be home Christmas day this year, leaving in the evening to get back to London. Is there anything in particular you would like for Christmas?”
Kurt thought for a second, pondering. He knew this question would come today considering it would be the last time him and his father would speak until Christmas. Finally he turned to his father. “There is something...”
*
“Can I leave now?” Troy asked.
“No.” Sebastian, Marc and Nick all spoke simultaneously, and Sebastian picked up from where they stopped speaking. “You’re staying here tonight.”
“You’re just gonna leave me here alone all night?”
“No, Sebastian and I are staying too.” Marc added.
Nick stood up from the sofa. “I’m gonna head back...I’ve gotta meet Jeff for a late dinner.”
“Thanks for helping, Matthews. We’ll catch you tomorrow.” Marc said, Sebastian smiled at him and walked him to the door, locking it shut behind him.
*
Sebastian woke up to the sound of arguing. Not light arguing either, it wasn’t something that would be resolved in a few minutes. He heard Kurt’s voice above them all and that’s when he knew he had to drag himself out of his best friend’s bed and see what was going on. Marc was stood beside Kurt, both of them glaring down at Troy, who sat on the floor.
Sebastian listened to them for a moment as he pulled on a pair of sweatpants.
“I just want to know what the fuck you were doing naked in my dorm whilst I was away.” Kurt snapped. Sebastian was surprised Kurt kept his cool this long, and walked over to where they were interrogating Troy. Sebastian wrapped an arm around Marc’s waist and gave him a quick kiss before squeezing his waist briefly and then walked around to Kurt’s other side and rubbed his back, his way of saying hello.
Troy was stuttering, badly. Kurt began to tap his foot impatiently. “I-I was asked to...because of Blaine...and then the gossiper, they said-”
“You know, this whole conversation would be a lot quicker if you could answer some questions for us.” Sebastian finally said.
“Questions? Ask me.” Troy said confidently.
“Number one,” Kurt started. “Who took the picture?”
Troy didn’t even blink. “Gabe.” Kurt nodded, they were all familiar with Troy’s best friend, they stuck together too much to just be friends, as much as they tried to tell everyone.
“Right, number two,” Marc continued from Kurt’s mark. “Did you give the gossiper Blaine’s phone number?” Kurt glared at Troy curiously.
“No.” He said firmly.
“Did Gabe?” Marc said quickly.
“Yes.”
“And you gave it to Gabe?” Sebastian was beginning to piece the puzzle together.
“Yes.”
“Number three,” Kurt spoke. “Did you, or Gabe, tell the gossiper that Blaine and I were together?”
“Yes.”
“How did you find out?” He frowned at him.
“I follow some of his friends on Twitter. They posted about it, he told me about them when we were together.”
“You were never together.” Kurt fought. Sebastian let out a breath and picked up from Kurt’s sentence.
“So you text the gossiper to tell them...” Troy nodded.
“Can I ask why I’m being interrogated? You never cared before.”
“Because this time, you’re affecting someone I care about more than this stupid facade here.” Kurt said finally. He turned to Sebastian. “I’m done with him, just get rid of him.” Sebastian nodded and touched Kurt’s arm affectionately. Kurt turned out of his grasp and kicked Troy’s stomach hard. Troy let out a yelp and yell of pain as he curled over, clutching at where Kurt’s foot impacted his body. “Now fuck off.”
Just as Kurt turned around, he span back at the last second and kicked Troy again, slightly below his hands but still directly on his stomach.
“FUCK!” Troy screamed, the throbbing of his stomach pulsating through his body. “Wha-what the-the fuc-fuck dude?!”
Kurt dropped to his knees suddenly, kneeling beside Troy so their faces were almost touching.
“This is the last time I want to see you. You’re going to leave this room, go back to your dorm and stay there. You’re going to go to your classes and hang out with your friends, away from any place that you know me and my friends hang out. You’re going to text the ‘gossiper’ and tell them to delete your number, you’re going to stop texting them updates. You’re going to leave Blaine alone and make absolutely no attempt to contact him and if I find out that you’ve done any of these things, you are going to seriously regret crossing me. Understood?”
Troy nodded shakily.
“Perfect.” He faked a smile, and dropped it just as quickly. “Now get out.”
Marc moved over to the door and opened it, waiting until Troy (still clutching his stomach and whining occasionally, wincing at the pain) had left, and he slammed it shut.
“You haven’t threatened anybody in a really long time.” Sebastian smiled at Kurt and ran his hand through his hair.
“Yeah well it won’t be the last...he’ll be trying to call Blaine by the end of the week, I guarantee it.” Kurt sighed.
“Not if he doesn’t want a broken arm.” Marc added, walking to sit on the sofa, tucking his legs underneath him.
“I wouldn’t break his arm” Kurt laughed.
“Yeah, Kurt hates repeating that kind of thing,” Sebastian added as he walked to sit behind Marc, stretching his legs out either side of his boyfriend, tugging Marc’s back against his torso.
“Look, just because one guy ended up with a broken arm after he double crossed me, doesn’t mean that I did it.”
“Yeah, it’s just really uncanny that we haven’t seen him in 2 years.” Sebastian compromised.
“Alright, alright so I broke a guys arm. That’s not important right now.” Kurt sat down on the opposite end of the sofa and pulled his legs to his chest. “There’s something I need to tell you.”
“Shoot” Marc said, rubbing a hand affectionately along Sebastian’s leg.
“I’ve been offered a job with Ralph Lauren.”
Sebastian grinned from ear to ear, “Dude that is incredible!”
“In Paris” Kurt continued. “I’d be moving there in a month.”
“What about Blaine?” Marc asked suddenly. “What about Dalton?” he added as an afterthought.
“I could get an early graduation.” Kurt purposely ignored the question about his boyfriend.
“What does Blaine think?” Sebastian finally said.
“He doesn’t know. I wanted to talk to you about it first.”
“You’ve wanted this job for years, Kurt.” Sebastian reminded him.
“I know. So you think I should take it?”
“I think you’d be a fool not to.”
“Marc?” Kurt turned his head to look at Marc, he wanted as many opinions as he could get.
“I dunno, I-” as soon as he started speaking, his and Sebastian’s phones both vibrated on the table. Sebastian reached over and passed Marc his before picking his own up.
“Oh fucking hell.” Sebastian sighed, he tossed the phone to Kurt, who caught it and looked down at the screen.
‘Missed us? Well be glad we’re back, because we have the biggest news for you today. Our Prince, Kurt Hummel has been offered a job with Ralph Lauren. Guess who’s moving to Paris in a month? We’ll miss you...so will the New Kid. We bet that we’ll be the ones to break the news to him, something tells us that our Prince hasn’t even mentioned it to him yet.’
“So now he knows.” Kurt sighed. “This fucking person is gonna ruin my life, I swear.” He threw the phone back to Sebastian.
“Troy.” Marc jumped up and practically ran to the door; he snapped it open and found Troy running back up the hallway.
“Is he there?” Kurt asked carelessly.
Marc shut the door and walked back over to the sofa. “Not anymore. He ran when I opened the door.”
“This feels like freshman year all over again.”
Sebastian’s phone vibrated again, Blaine’s face on the screen. Sebastian took one look and threw it back to Kurt.
“It’s for you.” He said. “We’re gonna go and get showered and changed, we’ll meet you for coffee in an hour.”
He took Marc’s hand and they left the room together. Kurt answered the phone.
“Hey,”
“...Kurt?”
“Yeah, hey.” He couldn’t really think of anything else to say.
“Is this-what...I don’t...?”
“Yeah pretty much.” Kurt laughed.
“Is it true?”
“I was offered a job. I haven’t accepted anything yet.”
“Are you going to?”
“I don’t know, Blaine.” Kurt sighed, pulling the phone closer to him, wishing Blaine was able to hold him right now. He wasn’t really sure what had come over him, but he needed something, someone. He had never been very people-dependant. He was incredibly independent and he knew how to look after himself, somehow since Blaine had come along...he had given Kurt a reason to latch onto him, given Kurt a reason to trust other people and to be able to rely on them, to feel needed and wanted by them. It gave Kurt a reason to stay.
“Hmm” Blaine hummed.
“Do you think I should?” Kurt asked slowly.
“I...” he paused to think and then continued. “I think you should.”
“I wouldn’t be able to come see you anymore.” Kurt said softly.
“We’ve been dating for like...4 days, Kurt. This isn’t about me.” Kurt heard Blaine laugh a little bit.
“I’ve been in love with you for longer than 4 days, I think you know that.”
“I do. But this still isn’t about me.”
“So, you want me to go to Paris?”
“I don’t want you to.”
“You just-”
“No, no, let me finish. I don’t want you to go, but I didn’t want you to leave my house yesterday. I didn’t want you to leave my bed the night before, and I don’t want you to go to Paris. But you need to.”
“The way you link everything back to sex astounds me, Anderson. You seemed so innocent for the first few days I knew you.”
“The first day you met me, you pinned me against a door and shoved your tongue into my mouth.”
“Well that’s a story for the future.” Kurt laughed. “You tell it so romantically.”
“I do, I know.” Blaine agreed.
“I don’t want to go to school today.” Kurt admitted softly.
“I don’t have to.” Blaine boasted. “Our school’s closed for some sort of event they’re holding there today.”
Kurt glanced at the clock, 7:32am “I didn’t realise how early it was.”
“Yeah, I couldn’t sleep, and then the text...”
“So you’re just staying home today?”
“Yeah, I guess so. Santana has plans with her new...sort of boyfriend and Aaron’s got a couple of guys he needs to see, so I guess that leaves me to watch movies.”
“I’ll be at your house at 9.” Kurt grinned.
“Wait, what?!”
Kurt pulled out his own phone and turned it on; he tapped out a message and ordered a car and his plane to be ready within the next hour.
“It’s all arranged.” Kurt confirmed. “Just have some hot chocolate ready for me at 9 and pick out a movie.”
“Are you insane?! You can’t just fly here for the day.”
“Why not?” Kurt pouted. “Do you...do you not want me to?” he swallowed hesitantly.
Kurt heard Blaine laugh. “Now you’re insane. Of course I want you to.”
“Good.” Kurt smiled. “I’ve gotta go get ready, I’ll see you soon.”
“I can’t believe you’re doing this.” Blaine laughed in disbelief.
“I love you, Blaine.”
“I love you too. Do you need me to get you from the airport?”
“No, no it’s okay. We’ll land closer than that and I’ll have a car there, it’s all arranged.”
“You’re crazy.”
“Goodbye, Blaine” Kurt said with a grin.
“Bye” Blaine replied softly, before adding. “Love you”
“Mmm” Kurt agreed before hanging up and rushing off to his shower.
*
“Thanks for the latte, Seb.” Kurt said as he slipped into the chair opposite them and took a sip.
“Why aren’t you in your uniform?” Sebastian asked, glancing at Kurt’s outfit of white jeans and a blue sweater.
“I’m going to see Blaine.” He said proudly.
“You’re just taking the day off?” Jeff asked as he and Marc walked over and sat down at the table.
“Yes, I have more important places to be.”
“Like in your boyfriend’s bed.” Sebastian laughed.
A man in a tailored suit approached their table and turned to Kurt.
“Mr Hummel, your car is ready and your pilot is prepared for takeoff.” He informed. Kurt nodded at him and slipped $50 into his hand.
“Thank you,” he turned back to his friends. “I’ll see you guys tomorrow.” He picked up his coffee and stood up. “Thanks for the coffee.” He nodded to Sebastian. “Here, the next rounds on me.” He placed some money on the table in front of Sebastian. “Keep an eye on the weasel for me.” He said more quietly.
“Oh god, Troy’s back?” Jeff turned to Nick.
Nick looked at him and nodded. “Don’t go there.” He warned. Jeff squeezed his boyfriend’s leg.
“Hey remember that time that Kurt tied him naked to the pillar outside of the main building?” Jeff laughed.
Kurt smiled and then forced himself to drop it. “And on that note...” he turned and left the room.
*
Knock. Knock.
Blaine pulled the door open, caught one look at Kurt before Kurt was in his arms, his legs wrapped around Blaine’s waist and pressing kisses all over his face. Blaine wrapped his arms instinctively to grab his boyfriend’s ass and kicked the door shut, turning and walking into the living room once he heard it slam. He met Kurt’s lips and laid him back on the sofa, hovering over him and kissing him long and hard. Eventually, they pulled away.
“I love you so much” Kurt breathed.
“I forgot how clingy you are” Blaine laughed, falling down to sit next to him. Kurt immediately moved to cuddle next to him.
“I saw you yesterday.” Kurt replied, smiling at him.
“Too long.” Blaine mumbled, leaning to kiss him again.
Kurt hummed into the kiss. “Always too long”
“If you go to Paris, we can’t do this anymore.” Blaine said quietly, his hand brushing through Kurt’s hair. He felt Kurt freeze beside him. “Hey,” he nudged Kurt’s shoulder with his own.
“I don’t want to go” Kurt whispered quietly, closing his eyes.
Blaine turned more to face him and ran a thumb across his cheekbone.
“Why not?”
“I’m so scared” he admitted softly, keeping his eyes closed. Blaine just looked at him, watching as he tried to piece together the things he wanted to say.
“What are you scared of?” Blaine prompted after a while.
“I have everything.” He said slowly, laughing at his choice of words. “I mean, I have everything I need and want here. I mean that in the most...”
“I know what you mean...” Blaine reassured him.
“And then, going to Paris...I won’t have any of it.” He looked into Blaine’s eyes. “I won’t have you.”
Blaine felt his heart breaking at the sight of Kurt in front of him. He wrapped his arms around his boyfriend’s shoulders and pulled him close. “Please don’t say that, you’ll always have me.” He whispered and kissed Kurt’s hair. “Always.”
“Stop promising me things.”
“Just let me hold you,” he whispered. “Forget about Paris; forget about everything...I love you”
“Blaine.”
“Do you trust me?”
“Of course”
“Then just relax” he paused before smiling and adding, “I made you a hot chocolate.”
“Of course you did” Kurt laughed and pulled himself up out of Blaine’s arms so he could reach out for the steaming mug.
“What’s that meant to mean?” Blaine smiled and passed him the drink when he couldn’t quite reach it.
“You’re just so perfect.”
Blaine kissed him tenderly, rubbing their noses together as he pulled away. “I wish you could just stay with me here forever”
“We have all day”
Blaine hummed and pulled him closer, carefully prying the mug from Kurt’s hands once he’d had a sip and placing it back on the table. He pulled Kurt’s legs over his lap and held onto his knee with a hand, his other holding the small of Kurt’s back.
“Can I ask you a question?” Blaine whispered, brushing their lips together just slightly.
“Sure” Kurt kissed him gently and then pulled away, licking his lips.
“Why do you...” he started before shaking his head discreetly and trying again. “This might sound stupid but, why do you love me?”
Kurt laughed. “Are you serious?” Blaine just stared at him, no smile on his lips, and no laughter in his eyes. Kurt kissed him, a small and quick closed mouth peck. “I love you because I think you’re pretty damn cute” he grinned and kissed him again.
“Kurt,”
“Shhh I know.” He searched Blaine’s eyes for some kind of lightness, a joking tone, but he saw nothing but the puzzled eyes of a scared boy. He frowned before continuing. “I love you because I’ve...I’ve never needed someone so much in my life, I’ve never longed after someone like I do after you. I think...you, I fell for you because you knew everything about me, and you still wanted me. You saw me for who I am and you loved me in spite of it all...I never expected that in a million years.”
“So you love me because I love you?” Blaine pieced together.
“No,” Kurt replied immediately. “No. I love you because you’re compassionate, and caring, and completely stubborn. You’re a nightmare in the best way and as much as I don’t want to admit it, you’re the only person keeping me from going to Paris. I’ve just managed to grab onto the best thing to ever happen to me, and I’m so not ready to let that go. You’re incredible, baby. You’re everything I need and want, and I don’t want you to ever doubt that.” He finished with a kiss, his lips taking control of the kiss.
“Thank you” Blaine whispered. Kurt rested their foreheads together and sighed.
“Now tell me what’s wrong.”
“There’s nothing wrong” Blaine smiled.
“There’s something wrong,” Kurt repeated, pulling his legs away from Blaine’s lap and moving to sit against the side of the sofa, his legs open. He patted the space between them and held his arms out to Blaine. “C’mere.” Kurt smiled, pulling Blaine’s back to his chest as he settled down, Kurt’s left hand threading through his hair, resting against Kurt’s shoulder as his right hand settled around Blaine’s waist, holding him tight.
“Now, are you ready to tell me what’s wrong?”
