Oh my gosh, you guys. The response to this story was so overwhelming in such a wonderful way…I cannot begin to thank all of you enough! Your responses mean the world to me!
Again, thank you so much! I’m not positive how this is going to end up, (well, I have a master plan, and I have song ideas and such, but I don’t know how they are all going to fit into this fic or into this “week”.) but I am trying to sort things out as fast as I can. I want to finish this before Valentine’s Day (or possibly on Valentine’s Day) but I need to work everything out in order for that to happen. Life hasn’t exactly been handing me her best cards, either. So, please, bear with me!
Thanks again! I hope everyone enjoys this!

Kurt rolled over in his silk sheets, rubbing his eyes as he slammed his alarm clock to “off”.
It was only 6:00 AM on Tuesday morning. If he could finish his moisturizing routine earlier than usual, maybe he could make some breakfast before anyone woke up…
Suddenly uplifted by the idea, the countertenor stretched and quickly jumped out of his bed. Racing groggily to his bathroom, he was soon enlightened at the sight of his many bottles of creams and lotions. He smiled to himself, and set to work immediately.
~-~
“Finn! C’mon! We’ve got to leave or else we’ll be late!” Kurt called up the stairs. The house was now full of delicious aromas of breakfast foods that Kurt had made a little earlier. As Finn came galloping down the wooden stairs, he quickly snagged a paper plate full of cheesy scrambled eggs, and scrambled out the door with Kurt following close behind.
Trying to break the early morning silence in the car, Finn asked Kurt, “So, what’s new, dude?”
Kurt snorted at his step-brother’s choice of language. “Nothing much.”
Finn knew Kurt too well now to let that pass. “Nothing much like, really nothing much, or nothing much like you have something you want to talk about but you don’t want to bring it up?”
Smiling at how well they had gotten to know each other, Kurt replied, “You can guess.”
“It’s totally the second one, isn’t it?”
“Well, I guess…if you want to know that Blaine Anderson asked me out for Valentine’s Day…”
“What?! Holy shit, man! What did you do? You didn’t say yes, right?” Finn exclaimed.
“Not really…”
“Dude-“
“I didn’t say yes, Finn. He asked me out, and I told him I don’t like him, and then he told me he wanted to see what I thought after a week with him, and I told him I would like to see him try. That’s all.” Kurt replied to Finn’s worried expression.
“When did this even happen?” Finn asked.
“Yesterday, after Glee.” Kurt said as he pulled into the McKinley High parking lot. “But, I haven’t told anyone, so don’t go blabbing to Rachel or anyone yet, alright?”
Already on his way into the school, Finn shouted an answer back to his brother, and was soon inside the school.
Sighing at Finn and smiling at how well the day seemed to be going, Kurt checked his hair one last time before walking inside the school.
All too soon, though, with a “Damn, your ass looks great in those jeans, Hummel.”, Kurt’s wonderful morning came to an abrupt halt.
As he held back a punch to the mouth, Kurt didn’t even turn around to face the boy. “What do you want, Anderson?”
“You.” Blaine’s voice was suddenly husky as he wrapped his arms around Kurt’s waist. Or, rather, he tried to, before Kurt slammed him against the lockers.
Kurt glared at Blaine as he twisted out of his grip. “No way, Anderson. You said you would woo me within this week. If this,” he said, gesturing to the position the two of them were in, “is your idea of wooing me, those drugs you’re doing must’ve done some permanent damage to your small brain.”
Kurt turned back to his locker, grabbed his books, and slammed his locker door shut. Without another word, he set off to his class.

“What’s wrong, boo?” Mercedes asked Kurt as they sat down for lunch.
“Nothing,” Kurt sighed in reply. “Blaine Anderson and I just got assigned to be partners for the French project. And he asked me out for Valentine’s Day.”
“Woah, woah, woah, hold up. He did what now?” Mercedes exclaimed.
“He told me to give him a week, and he would woo me into taking me out to dinner on Friday.”
“And what did you say?”
Kurt sighed, knowing how his best friend would react to his answer. “I told him I would like to see him try. ‘Cedes, calm down, it’s not like we are really dating.”
Mercedes pondered this for a moment. “Fine.” She sighed. “But, if he hurts you in any way, let me know. Okay, hun?”
Kurt smiled at his best friend. “Of course.”
~-~
Blaine sauntered into the Glee room and the steady flow of conversation was suddenly dammed. He chose the seat right next to Kurt, and the chestnut haired boy chose to ignore him and continued his conversation with Mercedes about the latest Vogue cover.
“Woah, dude, what’s new with you?” Puck asked Kurt, as normally, Kurt would’ve shoved Blaine away with a rude comment.
“Holy sweet hell, they’re totally doing it!” Santana said. “Never knew you would go for the badass type, Hummel. You’re usually so uptight.”
“Oh my God, Santana, we are not doing it.” Kurt exclaimed. “I would never even consider that with him!”
“Oh, sweetie, you know you want me.” Blaine said suggestively.
“In your dreams, Anderson.” Kurt replied, his glasz eyes narrowing.
Thankfully, Mr. Shuester walked in at that moment, and all conversation ceased.
“So, guys! Anyone have any song ideas yet?” he asked his students.
Nobody raised their hand.
But then, Blaine spoke up.
“Actually, Shue, I have a song.” He said, standing up and walking to the center of the room.
Taking the spare acoustic guitar from it’s holding place, Blaine began to speak. “I wrote this song a little while back. It’s called Human.”
Before anyone could say anything, the troubled boy began to sing.
I feel like a loser
I feel like I’m lost
I feel like I’m not sure if I feel anything at all
But, believe me, I’m not helpless
I just need someone to love
So, my situation is rough
But that just makes me a dumb human
Like you
“Damn, boy.” Mercedes whispered into Kurt’s ear. “Anderson’s got some pipes!”
Kurt, too shocked by the performance going on, simply nodded.
I feel like a short stop
Along third base
I may just help you
But I still don’t like your face
But believe me, I’m not hostile
I just want to hear you laugh
When I’m sarcastic like that
And that just makes me a dumb human
Like you
Blaine suddenly threw himself into a powerful verse, and the Glee club just shook their heads and tried to pick their jaws up from the floor because damn, Anderson could sing.
Why do I have this incredible need to stand up and say,
“Please, pay attention!”?
It’s the last thing that I need
To make myself see
Well, that ain’t my intention
No
I feel like an artist
Who’s lost his touch
He likes himself in his art
But, not his art too much
But, believe me, I’ve got something
I just don’t know how to say
That I’m just fine with the way
With the way that I’m moving
But that just makes me
A dumb human
That just makes me
That makes me a human
Like you
Blaine ended the song, and after a moment of awe, the room erupted into applause.
“Wow, man! You can really freaking sing!” Puck exclaimed.
“Yea, dude!” Finn and Mike agreed.
“So, Blaine, I was wondering if you would be available to practice a duet with me sometime within the next two weeks-“ Rachel began.
“Guys, guys! Calm down!” Shuester told them. “Although, I have to say, Blaine, that was truly amazing. You should sing more often.”
“No, thanks. One time thing.” Blaine shrugged off the guitar and went back to his seat.
“So,” he whispered in Kurt’s ear as Will began to talk about their set list for Regionals. “My place, tomorrow after school?”
“W-what?” Kurt said, flabbergasted. “Why?”
“The French project. Aren’t we partners?”
Kurt sighed in realization. “Oh, right. Uh, sure. I guess so.”
Blaine smiled at him. “Good. And maybe after that, we can do some stuff that’s actually fun. I can’t wait to hear you scream-“
“Is there something you want to tell us, Blaine?” Will said.
“Kurt and I were just making plans to do some after-school activities tomorrow.” Blaine replied, nonchalant.
“To do our French project, asshole!” Kurt bit back some other choice words to yell at the curly-haired boy.
Smirking as the class turned, once again, back to their teacher, Blaine said, “That’s what you think.” with a wink.
Kurt sighed and put his head in his hands.
“What the hell am I doing?” He thought.

Yay! Chapter two is finally here!
Thanks again to everyone. It was so amazing to see the reaction. I have never gotten anything like that before! So once again, thanks a million.
Also, for the non-Darren Criss fans, the song I used is a real song that Darren actually wrote called “Human”. He wrote it when he was fifteen.
I’m sorry for how long this chapter is! It was actually supposed to include the whole “working on the project” thing, but I decided to carry that over to Chapter Three.
Again, thank you so much for reading and reviewing and everything!
Reviews, constructive criticism, and ideas are welcomed! I love you guys!
P.S. Happy 25th birthday, Darren! I hope it’s wonderful, and I can’t wait to spend another totally awesome year with you!
