"Kurt, remember that I'm not sending you away. You're just changing schools. It's just a lot safer here, plus you might like it. I mean, there is a Glee club."
Kurt looked up and smiled slightly at his Dad. "I know Dad and thanks."
Burt smiled when he heard Kurt's voice. Since waking up in the hospital his son hadn't spoken as much as he used to. The doctors had all said that this was a normal reaction and that with time he would be spewing witty comments left and right.
"Come on Kiddo we need to get you inside and settled. This rain isn't going to ease up so we might as well make a run for it now."

"Hey!" Blaine turned around to see a tall blonde running down the corridor weaving in and out of other boys. Some of them seeing him before he got to them and quickly getting out of the way.
"Hi Jeff. What's the matter? You lo-"
"Blaine! I saw a ghost in the library!" Jeff panted as he skidded to a stop nearly running into Blaine.
"Wait-What?" Blaine yelped as the taller boy grabbed his tie and dragged him towards an empty classroom.
"I saw a ghost in the library." Jeff repeated for Blaine.
"Jeff." Blaine sighed as he started to walk away from the over excited blonde. "I highly doubt that it was a ghost."
"No wait!" Jeff said as he stood in front of Blaine. "It was. I'm sure of it. He had re-"
"There is not a ghost in the school library! Can I please go now?" Blaine said while walking out of the classroom.
"No! No, no, no. Listen! He was putting away some books and he was reallypale." The blonde said with a serious look suddenly on his face.
"Doesn't mean it was a ghost!" Blaine tried to walk away again but was pulled in the opposite direction.
"Nope! You are coming with me to investigate because that's what friends do Blaine." Jeff said with a huff and dragged the smaller boy by the back of his blazer.
Dalton Academy's library was huge. Trying to find a student in one of the three stories is difficult at the best of times but trying to find what Jeff had described as a ghost would be near impossible. How was Blaine meant to help look for someone he had never seen before?
Jeff led Blaine up to the second floor and to the back of the shelves.
"I saw him around here…" The blonde said whilst peering around the books on the shelves. "He was putting some books away."
Blaine grabbed the taller boys arm and turned him around.
"Jeff." He sighed again. "Can I please go? Wes wanted to see me. I promise that if you see this…ghostagain I will help you to try and find it. Okay?"
The other boy seemed to think it over before speaking.
"You promise?"
"Yes Jeff. I promise." Blaine said while trying to hide a smile.
"Okay then." Jeff smiled and linked his arm with Blaine and headed towards the stairs. "Let's go find Wesley."
------------------------------------
Kurt found that everything at Dalton was quiet. Students weren't shouting at each other, they weren't running down the corridors and they most defiantly weren't throwing slushies' at each other but he still felt scared. He still braced himself whenever another student passed him, waiting to be hurled into a wall or for someone to yell at him.
His father had dropped him off on Tuesday and made sure he was settled in his new dorm room before leaving him with a promise of calling every other night to see how he was getting on. He'd been at the new school for two days now and he could just about find his way around without getting lost.
Getting lost does have its benefits though. On Kurt's first night he had gone looking for some of his classrooms for the following day but had ended up getting lost and finding himself in a long corridor.
Kurt turned another corner that he was sure would lead him towards the English department but was soon disappointed when he saw that he had found yet another long corridor but this one had two large dark wooden doors. The pale boy walked quietly towards the doors confused by the lack of other people. In the other corridors while it wasn't loud there were many boys all over the place but not here. Kurt carefully opened one of the doors and peered in.
He let out a gasp at the sight.
Rows and rows of shelves filled with books.
And that is where Kurt had been every night before curfew, every lunch and breaks, too nervous to mix with any of the other boys other than necessary. He still hadn't met any of the boys in his dorm somehow managing to miss them each time he ventured out of his room only seeing them briefly during his classes. None of the other students noticing him as the boy never drew attention to himself if he could avoid it.
But there is only so much avoiding that one person can get away with until someone finds them.

Blaine sat down at the lunch table with the rest of the Warblers trying to catch up with the conversation.
"-of course it should be a solo followed up by a group performance!" Thad was explaining to Nick.
"I'm just saying that if we do a duet and then finish with a group performance we'll have more of a chance to showcase the Warblers talent!" Nick retorted with a smirk.
Wes looked like he had long given up trying to stop the arguments. He was face down on the table, lunch abandoned with David across the table stealing food from the tray.
"Guys, can we leave all of this for Warbler practice?" Blaine pleaded looking up and down the table. "It's lunch now which means only a couple of hours until practice."
The others boys seemed satisfied with Blaine's compromise and went back to eating their lunches. Wes raised his head from the table and shot a smile at Blaine just as Jeff came running into the cafeteria. The tall blonde boy stopped when he reached the table nearly tripping over his own feet.
"Blaine! Look! I-I saw him again and I thought that I should-" Jeff said in such a rush that many of the Warblers at the table shot him worried looks.
"Jeff." Wes tried to stop him.
"-Go and get you but of course if I did that by the time-"
"Jeff, honey." Nick said reaching over to grab his boyfriend's hand.
"-I got you he would have been gone and then you wouldn't have believed me so I-"
"JEFF!" Blaine shouted.
The blonde boy stopped talking and took in his surroundings and saw most of the other boys looking at him with strange looks and blushed. He then walked over to Nick's side and sat down putting an arm around the brunette's waist and pecking him on the cheek with a mumbled "Sorry."
"It's okay Jeffy. You just need to remember to slow down." Nick explained curling into his boyfriend.
"You said look, what did you mean?" Blaine asked him, his eyebrows knitting together in confusion.
"This!" Jeff held out his phone to Blaine.
