Blaine didn't see Kurt for the rest of the morning. He went through all of his first few classes, nervously expecting to see Kurt, but he never appeared.
By lunchtime, he was wondering if he would ever see Kurt again.
Apparently, he would.
After he bought his lunch, he heads over to the table with some of the members of the school's glee club, The New Directions. He had already met Rachel, Artie, and Mike in earlier classes, and they had
invited him to sit with them. He slowly sits down beside Mike when he feels someone else sitting on the other side of him, slinking their arm around Blaine's waist.
Blaine sighs and begins eating, hoping Kurt will just go away if ignored.
But of course, that doesn't work. Because Kurt Hummel gets what he wants. And what he wants, is Blaine Anderson. Blaine Anderson, with his damn bow ties and sweater vests that somehow manage to make him look sexy as hell.
Kurt leans in close, whispering in Blaine's ear.
"Playing hard to get won't work, babe. It just makes me work harder. Makes me want you more."
Blaine squirms slighty under the warm feeling of Kurt's breath in his ear, still not speaking.
Kurt sighs, turning to the rest of the table, his arm still possesivly
wrapped around Blaine's waist.
Blaine's been so focused on ignoring Kurt, that he hasn't heard the rest of the table's conversation. His ears perk up when he hears Kurt say something about 'sectionals'. He looks at Kurt with wide eyes.
"You're in glee club!?"
Kurt rolls his eyes.
"Oh look who remembers how to speak! Yes, I'm in glee club, why wouldn't I be!?"
Blaine shrugs, his eyebrows furrowed.
"Isn't glee club kind of like, uncool?"
Kurt looks at Blaine like he's a complete idiot.
"I'm in it. I make it cool."
Blaine still looks confused.
"But.....why? I mean, you like singing?"
Kurt groans, talking like he would to a three year old. Or a puppy.
"Yes, Blaine. I like singing. That is why I joined a club for people who like to sing."
Blaine blushes softly, mumbling an "Oh", before finishing his lunch. He slowly pulls out of Kurt's grip, throwing away his trash. He then walks out of the cafeteria and into the choir room to practice his audition piece until the end of lunch.
A few minutes later, the bell rings and Blaine heads to his classes, not seeing Kurt again until he's in his last class of the day, History.
He sits down at a table in the back row, noticing that the only empty seat is beside him. He doesn't think too much of it until Kurt walks in, smirks and plops down beside him.
"Hello, Blaine." he purrs.
"Hi." Blaine murmers, taking out a notebook.
Kurt links his ankle with Blaine's, watching him.
"So, babe. I heard you're auditioning for Glee club."
Blaine nods, looking over at Kurt.
"Yeah. I was the lead singer in the glee club at my old school. You know, The Warblers? We competed against you guys."
Kurt nods, his eyes widening with realization.
"Oh yeah! I hooked up with one of those guys in a closet backstage!"
He mock pouts, placing his hand on top of Blaine's, giving him puppy dog eyes and fluttering his eyelashes.
"Too bad it wasn't you."
Blaine blushes and yanks his hand away, copying the notes on the board.
Kurt chuckles, dragging his foot up and down Blaine's leg, watching Blaine's blush deepen.
Blaine whispers, glancing at Kurt.
"Wh-what are you doing? Cut it out."
Kurt shrugs and moves his foot away, placing his hand on Blaine's thigh.
Blaine glares at him and moves his seat as far away as possible.
Kurt rolls his eyes, watching Blaine take notes.
Eventually the bell rings, and Blaine quickly stands up and packs up his bag, not paying attention to Kurt, who walks over and slides his hand in Blaine's back pocket, laughing loudly when Blaine yelps and jumps, pulling Kurt's hand out and rushing to the bathroom to change into his outfit for his audition.
After he gets changed, Blaine sits by himself, in the back corner. He puts his bag on the chair beside him like he's saving it for someone, but he's really just trying to avoid Kurt.
Kurt walks in and raises an eyebrow at Blaine's red pants, but shrugs, picks Blaine's bag up and sits down, holding the bag on his lap.
Mr. Schue walks in, smiling and standing at the front of the room, noticing Blaine.
"Oh, hi! Aren't you from the Warblers?"
Blaine nods, smiling softly.
"Well, do you have something prepared to audtion? If not, you can just watch today, and audition next time."
Blaine shakes his head and stands up.
"I'm ready now. Do you mind if we go outside? It's nice out there, and the steps are perfect for performing. I've asked the Cheerios to help me out....they're all waiting out there. Well, other than them."
He gestures to Santana and Brittany, turning to Mr. Schue, who nods and heads for the door. "Let's go outside!"
Blaine smiles and rushes out the door and to the top of the stairs, waiting for the band to start.
Kurt walks out with everyone else, sitting down, holding Blaine's bag.
The band starts to play "It's Not Unusual", Blaine begins dancing and wiggling his hips, winking in Kurt's direction before singing.
And when Blaine sings, Kurt's heart practically beats out of his chest. He almost drops Blaine's sunglasses when the bastard tosses them in Kurt's direction. His eyes wide, Kurt stares at Blaine, feeling something weird. He feels the usual attraction and lust....but he feels something else too. Something he can't explain. One thing he knows, is that Blaine's voice is the sexiest, most beautiful thing he's ever heard.
As the song comes to a close, Blaine dances down the steps and
over to Kurt, snapping his hips and twirling around, making Kurt be the one to blush, for once.
The music ends and all the New Directions, minus Kurt, start clapping and smiling.
"Welcome to the New Directions!", Mr. Schue smiles, before leading everyone inside, except Kurt and Blaine.
Blaine smiles and looks at Kurt, slightly breathless from his performance.
"So, what'd you think?"
Kurt shrugs and fakes a yawn.
"It was okay."
He shoves the bag into Blaine's arms.
"But I would have been better."
He winks and walks back into the building, leaving Blaine, once again, wondering what the hell just happened.
