“But now it’s like three in the morning, let’s go back to bed.” He pulled me back over to the bed and I followed, giggling slightly. This time I curled up to him, resting my head on his chest, the feeling of him stroking his fingers through my hair lulled me too sleep.
Blaine woke slowly, he could feel Kurt’s body pressed against his and he smiled. He lightly pressed a kiss to the dyed blonde hair before slipping out of bed. A brief shower and shave later he was back in the room dressed for the day. He pulled out some of the hotel stationary and began to write.
“If you’re leaving me a note you may as well tell me,” Kurt mumbled from the bed and Blaine turned to look at the sleepy young man. He stopped writing.
“I need to make a phone call,” he replied.
“I thought that wasn’t safe?”
“I can trust this person and I’ll use a payphone, when I get back we’ll book out and leave, we’ll head south.”
“Then what? Last night you said you were going to leave me.”
“I can’t take you with me Kurt, it’s too dangerous.” Blaine sighed and moved over to the bed sitting down beside Kurt who looked up at him with those big blue eyes. “Just trust me please?” Kurt nodded.
Blaine left the hotel, he walked past several payphones before stopping at one near a different hotel. He quickly dialled a number and pressed the phone to his ear, turning round so he could watch the people around him. He was beginning to think the phone wouldn’t be answered but eventually someone picked up.
“Hello.”
“Finch, it’s me,” Blaine said relieved.
“Warb, man I’ve been worried, where are you?”
“I can’t tell you that.”
“Right, yeah sorry. But you’re ok aren’t you?”
“Yes but I need to do something, I need to make sure the witness is safe.”
“We’ve caught that gang, he is safe.”
“That gang didn’t attack us. Someone inside the organisation wanted him dead and I have no idea why. That’s why I went off the grid.”
“You serious, the whole point of this outfit is to protect people like him.”
“We were in a secure place. You really think one of those goons managed to get past all our guys without anyone making a ruckus?”
“Point taken, look let me do some digging, I’ll find out what I can then I’ll get back in touch with you.”
“I’ll call you again later, just be careful ok Finch.”
“I always am. Thanks for trusting me Warb, I can imagine you’re pretty suspicious of everyone right now.”
“We trained together, we did our first mission together, I trust you with my life. I wish you’d been on this mission with me I could have used your back up.”
“Please, I’ve seen pictures of Hummel, just you’re type, bet you’ve been shacking up with him all across the country.”
“I have been doing no such thing,” Blaine spluttered.
“Oh so you haven’t slept with him? Bet you’ve kissed him though.”
“He kissed me first,” Blaine said before he could stop himself.
“Ha, you go make sure your man candy is safe, I’ve got a job to do.”
“Thanks, Finch, I owe you.”
Blaine hung up then put more money in the machine before dialling another number.
“I don’t want whatever you’re selling,” the voice said.
“I’m not selling anything Wes,” Blaine said smiling.
“Blaine! Where the hell have you been? You skip on drinks then you skip town, you’re people won’t tell my people anything.”
“Yeah about that, I’ve got a bit of a situation.”
“This isn’t a catch up call is it?”
“No, it’s an I’m in trouble and I need my guy inside the FBI to help me out.”
“What have you done?”
“Nothing, look, I don’t think my people, as you call them, are the good guys anymore. I saved a witness for the string of jewellery store robberies, took him to a guarded hotel then suddenly someone’s managed to get in, past numerous guards, up six floors without making a noise. I managed to save him and I’ve been on the run with him since.”
“Blaine!”
“I know, look, I’ve got a friend on the inside he’s helping me out but I need you to notify someone, anyone because I’m done running and this could get messy.”
“I’d say don’t do anything stupid but you did that when you contacted someone on the inside.”
“No it’s ok, this guy’s good.”
“I hope for your sake you’re right Blaine.”
“I am.”
“If I asked you to stay with your witness till this is dealt with would you?”
“No.”
“Didn’t think so, be careful Blaine.”
“I will, bye.”
Blaine walked back to the hotel quickly, eager to get Kurt and get on the move again. He knew leaving Kurt behind would be hard but he needed to end this so Kurt could live his life again. He was unaware that as he entered the lobby of the hotel his car, with Kurt driving, was leaving the garage.
It was surprising how a simple piece of paper made his heart stop.
“You idiot,” he shouted at the empty room, wishing Kurt was there to hear it but he wasn’t. Blaine tore the hotel room apart looking for his car keys before realising that Kurt must have taken the car. He wanted to scream at the thought of Kurt knowingly driving into a trap because of some stupid sense of nobility.
Blaine ran out of the hotel, taking the stairs instead of waiting for the elevator. He flung himself onto the street then sprinted until he found a car park. He watched impatiently as a man parked a car then got out. Blaine purposely made sure he bumped into the man and pickpocketed him. He seriously wished that the man had been rude to him after being run into but the man politely accepted his apology and went on his way.
He felt bad for the grand theft auto but Kurt’s life was in danger and the only hope he had of making it in time was too get hold of a car. He barely obeyed the speed limit on the drive to Ohio, he would have sped the whole way but being caught speeding in a stolen car would not help him save Kurt.
Blaine was glad he remembered things easily because he’d only read Kurt’s address once and that was the first night when he’d got his DNA. He was also glad he stole a car that had a sat nav. He carelessly pulled up to the curb and flung himself out of the car leaving the door open and the car running. He hammered on the door until a teary eyed woman opened it.
“Where is he?” Blaine asked desperately pushing past her into the house and looking around.
“Who the hell are you?” A bald man asked. Blaine looked at him, he looked angry, scared and upset.
“They got him didn’t they,” Blaine said, falling to his knees because he knew, just looking at this man who must be Kurt’s dad, he knew that Kurt wasn’t here.
“What do you know?” Burt Hummel asked, looking very much like he wanted to kill Blaine.
“Not enough,” Blaine whispered to himself, before looking at this man before him. “I’ve been hiding Kurt but I went out and when I came back he’d left, to come here to you. I followed as quickly as I could but not quick enough obviously,” Blaine said bitterly.
“I shouldn’t worry, you really didn’t miss him by that much,” a new voice spoke, Blaine turned to look at the newcomer. He didn’t know his name but he recognised him. “And you’ll be reunited real soon, Warbler.”
“You’re one of them?” Blaine replied.
“You don’t even know my name do you? We’ve worked together before, but hey I was never good enough for the mighty Warbler. Well look at you now,” with that he pulled a knife out and slashed it at Blaine, who ducked but winced as it sliced the skin above his eye. The woman, Carol, screamed. The man punched Blaine hard in the stomach, then punched him again in the face, causing him to fall back to the floor. He looked up at Kurt’s parents. Carol had hidden her head in Burt’s chest but Burt himself looked Blaine right in the eye.
“I’m sorry but I gotta do what’s right for my kid,” he said. Blaine pushed himself up off the floor and slowly stood.
“Believe me Mr Hummel, I’d give me life a thousand times to save Kurt.”
“Just once will be enough,” the guy, who Blaine could still not put a name too, said. “Come on Warbie, let’s go see your little Princess.”
Blaine was pulled out of the door and bundled roughly into the trunk of a car. He lay there in the dark, in pain but at least he was heading towards Kurt. He thought of blue eyes and blond hair, he knew of course that Kurt’s was actually brown but it had been blond most of the time he’d known him. During the time he’d protecting Kurt he had fallen for him. Blaine thought back to the last night in the hotel, the figure underneath him on the bed, Blaine had wanted him so bad but he’d respected Kurt’s decision. Blaine felt sick, Kurt, the man who may well be his ‘one’ was in mortal danger.
Blaine had eventually fallen into a fitful sleep, woken by the trunk being opened. He was dragged out of the car and thrown to the floor. A man stood over him while some conversed in the corner. Blaine decided to play defeated until he found an opportunity to attack. It wasn’t long before he was dragged into a room full of people. His boss and mentor greeted him but Blaine didn’t care all he wanted to see was the man he loved alive.
When he finally saw those beautiful eyes they were full of fear and pain. The once unblemished face had two blooming bruises and one of his lips was split. But he was alive and Blaine had never felt so relieved in his life.
He’d get them out of this.

OHhh damn Finch is an asshole. wait who was the guy that was at Burt's that new Blaine but he didn't know who he was?
Oh yes Finch is... that guy wasn't anyone really, generic bad guy!
I really enjoyed reading Blaine's pov of what happened. It was nice to see just how worried he was and to see why he was so angry at Finch when they finally took him to Kurt. This has definitely been one of my favorite stories and Badass agent Blaine is definitely awesome.
