Author's Notes: Fluff and angst. The best of both worlds.

Charley's tiny hand gripped Blaine's as they raced through the forest. Charley was laughing and smiling, but Blaine was just trying not to run into anything. Didn't she know he was wearing a brand new shirt? "C'mon, just a little bit farther!" she giggled, tugging his hand as he began to slow down out of exhaustion. They had been running for a while, but she obviously wasn't tired in the slightest.

"Here we are! Isn't it just like you pictured it?" He barely even registered what she had said, he was so in awe of what was before him. It was a cave, but not a dark and scary one, one he would be afraid of. It was beautiful. The sloping black walls glittered with some sort of shiny rock, making the inside similar to the night sky. Charley folded her arms and smiled. "See, now wasn't that worth it?"

"I love it. It's like a castle." Blaine said, touching one of the walls. Some of the sparkling stone dust rubbed off on his fingers, making them shine. How had she found this place? Was it hers? Was she really a princess or something? His brain went wild with imagination. "Is it magic?" he asked, barely aware that he had spoken.

"Mommy tells me there isn't such a thing as magic, but I think this is the place the fairies come at night to dance and sing." She smiled, leaning back against the wall and looking up at the ceiling.

"I like to sing."

Blaine didn't even know that he had said anything, but realized it when Charley shot him a curious look. He immediately blushed. "I'm not like, good or anything. I just sing sometimes." he muttered, suddenly concentrating very hard on a small chip of rock on his finger.

"Sing for me."

He looked over at his best friend incredulously. This was the last thing he had expected. He could barely talk to anyone, much less sing in front of anyone aside from his stuffed animals. "I don't know if I can." "Of course you can!" Charley said, walking over to him and clapping him on the shoulder, "Here, I'll start." She began singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", and Blaine couldn't help but join in. Slowly, she got quieter, until she had stopped singing, but he kept going. He liked hearing the sound of his voice echoing in the cave, bouncing of the glittering walls.

It was the first time Blaine Anderson had ever sung for anyone.

"Sing him a goddamn song, if you like him so much!" Char said, sounding quite exasperated. "Come on, Charlotte, you know I can't just say ‘Hey Kurt, come here so I can sing you a song professing my love!'" Blaine exclaimed, rolling his eyes impatiently.

"You did it for Jeremiah!" she pointed out, her blue polished nails drumming the dark wooden table. "Yeah, and we all know how well that one worked out!" It took all his self control not to start yelling in her face. He was still a bit sore after the Jeremiah incident, he had promised himself never to let anything like that happen again.

"You know Kurt's gay, you're both gorgeous, and he doesn't even go near the Gap! What the hell's the problem?" she said evenly, running a hand through her thick hair and sighing.

"This is more complicated than that! You know I'm really bad at romance! I've tried before, and look where that's got me." Blaine put his head in his hands, trying not to explode. Char sighed again, and took one of his hands, looking right at him. "You're right, I'm sorry." she said, "But can you at least try? Seriously, invite him for coffee or something. As friends." she added, pointing her finger at him twice on the last two words.

Blaine laughed, his eyes scrunching up. Char smiled and sighed. "There it is, the scrunch. Listen hon, I'm here for you, whatever happens."
