Part 5

"David, do you know what time Blaine will be home?" Barbara Anderson asked, needing to find out if Blaine would be joining them for lunch in so she knew what to cook.

David Anderson sneered, "That weak, amoral pathetic excuse of a human being will never step in this house or any other Anderson property again. He is no longer a part of the Anderson family. I refuse to let him taint our family again."

"What have you done, David?" Barbara asked worried.

"I have disowned him, of course. I should have done it when he spouted that nonsense about being gay," David replied calmly.

Disappointed by her husband's actions and angry that he could betray their son Barbara said, "How could you do that? Blaine needs our understanding and love to recover from what that boy did to him."

"Blaine is no longer part of this family, Barbara. I don't want to hear his name again."

Hearing her husband's cold, steely tone Barbara knew her husband would not relent on his decision and that she had truly lost Blaine. While Barbara was not comfortable with her son's sexuality, she did love him and truly believed in the motto of hate the sin not the sinner. She had followed her husband's lead when it came to Blaine's sexuality because David had never been wrong before. Barbara truly believed that Blaine would grow out his rebellious phase because that was the only reason Blaine had said he was gay.

For the first time in thirty years, Barbara was contemplating going against David's orders. She could not bear to lose any of her children, they were the most important thing in her life and when it came down to it, she would always choose them over her husband. Barbara supposed that she would be able to ignore all evidence of her son's sexuality if it meant he was still in her life. She would give her husband and son time to calm down before she phoned Blaine to explain that he could easily be a part of their family again if he would be brave and admit he had been making the whole gay thing up in a ridiculous attempt for attention.

*******

Blaine smiled at Kurt as his boyfriend stalked through the store with his beautiful eyes scouring for the perfect outfit. Kurt had a wonderful eye and seemed to find clothes that suited everyone, although Kurt could be a little too blunt when criticising someone's outfit. Blaine wasn't sure if Jamie Jonathon Jenkins would ever recover from Kurt's brutal assessment. It didn't help that Jamie seemed to think that just because an item of clothing was expensive, it would look great on him.

"Are you looking for anything in particular?" Blaine asked eager to help.

Kurt quickly considered the question, knowing Blaine wanted to help but feeling somewhat unsure as to just what Blaine would consider a good clothing choice. He had truly wanted to set fire to some of Blaine's shirts and despaired of Blaine's seemingly unending fondness for Capri pants.

Kurt answered, "No, but you don't need a purpose to shop. Let's have a look at the sweaters."

Blaine nodded and allowed Kurt to gently pull him towards that section of the store. He loved going shopping with Kurt because of the way Kurt's eyes sparkled when he found something that he just had to buy.

Blaine smiled apologetically as his phone rang partway through Kurt's explanation as to why he shouldn't get a pair of yellow and black stripped Capri pants. Seeing the call was from his brother, Blaine felt a lump start in his throat, worried his brother was calling to say there was no chance Blaine would be able to remain in Ohio.

"Hi Cooper," Blaine said happily.

Cooper said excitedly, "Hey Blainers. I have got some good news and some bad news, the good news is Aunt Andrea said that you can move in with her. The bad news is that you won't be able to stay at Dalton, it would just cost too much. I am sorry, Bro."

"Thank you so much, Cooper. You are the most awesome brother in the whole world. I didn't think I would be able to continue to attend Dalton, I will speak to Aunt Andrea about enrolling at another school as soon as possible. Do you think I'll be able to continue to stay at Dalton for the rest of the term?"

"I'd plan to have to move school as soon as possible. At least there are a few different schools you can attend, you can apply to go to a school outside of the Delphos school district if you want to. It is worth a try and that way you could stay close to your friends if you want."

Nodding his head in understanding Blaine replied, "I can do that. Coop, I'll be okay and I've got time to save up for the future. I'm sure I'll be able to find a job somewhere and I refuse to let father destroy my plans for the future."

"Good on you, Bro. I'll let you get back to spending the day with Kurt."

"How did you know I was with Kurt?"

"You are young and in love, of course you are with him. I'm happy for you, you deserve to be happy. I still want to meet Kurt though and make sure he realises how lucky he is to be your boyfriend."

Blushing slightly in the realisation that it was so easy for everyone to tell he was in love with Kurt and he hadn't even told Kurt of his feelings. He promised himself that he would soon tell Kurt that he loved him. He just wanted to make sure everything was perfect when he said those three little words, because Kurt deserved perfection. He wanted it to be like the old musicals and romantic films that Kurt was so fond of. Perhaps he should tell Kurt in song since music was such an integral part of Kurt's life, in both their lives.

"I will introduce you both the next time you are in Ohio, just promise not to embarrass me."

"I would never do that, Bro," Cooper said with a laugh.

"Yes, you would. I've got to go, Kurt is waiting for me," Blaine said, watching Kurt who had wandered over to look at the scarves.

"Okay, I'll talk to you soon," Cooper replied ending the call.

Blaine strolled over to Kurt who was holding two scarves up as though they held the answers to the universe. He admired the way Kurt was able to express so much of himself by his clothing choices. Kurt was never one to mimic fashion trends, instead Kurt created his own look, that no one could replicate as proven by the attempts of some Dalton students to copy some of Kurt's amazing outfits. While Kurt looked amazing wearing the mix of women's clothing, bondage pants and high heeled boots, the boys who tried to wear the outfit looked ludicrous.

Blaine said relieved, "I've got some amazing news, Beautiful. Cooper has arranged for me to stay with Aunt Kent, she lives in Columbus. I know it's outside the school district but I can apply to go to a school in Lima so I won't be too far away from you."

"That's wonderful. We'll look into it once we get back to Dalton," Kurt said eagerly.

"Okay, now let's get back to shopping. I saw this pair of green Capri pants next door. Come and look at them," Blaine said gently pulling Kurt's arm.

Kurt nodded and allowed his boyfriend to lead him to what would probably be another complete fashion disaster.

*******

Three hours later Kurt was guiding a tired Blaine to their room, having fended off their worried friends who had asked if Blaine was sick because the teen had fallen asleep in the car on the way back to the hotel. Kurt knew that one reason for Blaine's tiredness was because of the emotional turmoil Blaine had been subjected to that day.

"Honey, sit on the bed while I get your pyjamas," Kurt gently instructed before walking over to the closet.

Blaine nodded and took a seat on the bed, he had never felt so exhausted but he knew that Kurt would take care of him. Soon, Kurt was back at his side and gently helping him get changed, Blaine knew he should probably be embarrassed about Kurt seeing him naked but all he felt was cherished.

Kurt helped Blaine dress, barely registering the other's nakedness as he put on Blaine's pyjamas. That night wasn't about sex, it was about giving Blaine the comfort he clearly needed. Kurt felt humbled that Blaine let him see his vulnerable side.

Once Blaine had changed, Kurt gently pushed the boy into the bathroom to do his nightly ablutions while he was going through his suitcase and finding his toiletry bag moisturising routine. When Blaine stumbled out of the bathroom, Kurt rushed to his side and helped his boyfriend into bed.

Placing a soft kiss on Blaine's cheek Kurt said, "Go to sleep. Honey. I'm right here if you need me."

"Thank you for being here," Blaine said sincerely.

"There's nowhere else I would rather be," Kurt replied, tucking Blaine into bed before going into the bathroom with his toiletry bag.

Blaine smiled as he watched Kurt's graceful gait, Kurt had an elegantly efficient way of walking that was simply mesmerising just like everything else about him. At times Blaine felt as though he was living in a dream because there was no way he could have such a beautiful, graceful, kind, considerate boyfriend.

Blaine's attention was brought back to the room by the vanilla scent of Kurt's moisturising lotion. All too soon Kurt walked into the room, causing Blaine to concentrate on removing all signs of arousal. He knew they were not ready to have sex yet and he didn't want Kurt to feel uncomfortable around him.

Seeing that Blaine's eyes were closed, Kurt stealthily walked past Blaine's bed and stepped into his own. Picking up his phone from the bedside table, Kurt set the alarm for the morning before getting into bed and switching off the bedside light once he was comfortable. As he drifted off to sleep, it occurred to Kurt that perhaps his dad would be able to help Blaine find somewhere to live.

*******

Blaine looked over at the still sleeping Kurt, thinking he had never seen such a beautiful sight. He could happily spend hours watching Kurt sleep but he had to get up and fix his hair. He didn't want to terrify Kurt by letting his boyfriend see his gel free hair.

Getting out of bed, Blaine stretched before stumbling into the bathroom, still feeling a little groggy due to spending most of the night awake and trying to come up with a plan for the foreseeable future. While Cooper had insisted that he would take care of everything, Blaine didn't want to be a financial or emotional burden on his brother.

When the bathroom door closed behind Blaine, Kurt opened his eyes and smiled fondly at the way Blaine had watched him sleep. It should probably feel a little weird but it had made him feel safe. Since Blaine was busy in the bathroom, Kurt busied himself with getting out his various moisturising products before lifting his clothes out of the closet.

Steam filled the room as Blaine walked out of the bathroom, hair perfectly styled as he walked over to Kurt with a soft smile.

"Good morning, Beautiful." Blaine said, placing a quick, chaste kiss on Kurt's lips in greeting as he did every morning when they saw each other at school.

"Morning, Honey. Do you want to go for breakfast?" Kurt said happily.

Thinking it over, Blaine nodded thinking it that at least he could make sure Kurt ate a good healthy breakfast. Blaine liked being able to take care of Kurt, even if it was something as insignificant as eating together.

"That sounds great," Blaine replied holding out a hand to Kurt.

Kurt gently squeezed Blaine's hand before pulling his boyfriend towards the door, eager to get something to eat so they could spend the day having fun with their friends. Kurt could honestly say that all of the Warblers were his friends, something that had never imagined happening when he had first arrived at Dalton. Kurt wasn't used to boys actually acknowledging him or wanting to be his friend as most boys ignored him or called him strange. The first time it had happened was in pre-school, he could clearly remember coming home from school in tears because a boy called George had taunted him when he had been playing with dolls with some of the girls in his class. Kurt had become friends of a sort with the boys in New Directions but he wouldn't day they were especially close friendships, with Finn being the obvious exception.

*******

Blaine and Kurt walked into the restaurant, unsurprised to see their friends were already there since they always had breakfast together if it was at all possible. Those Warblers who were boarders at the school always had breakfast together and once a week those who were day students would arrive at school early so the group could have breakfast together. It had become a tradition after Jeff skipped breakfast and had fainted on the way to class. The Warbler practice the following day had been serious as Wes had passed the new rule with a unanimous vote despite Jeff insisting that it was his own fault and there was no reason to disrupt everyone's morning routines.

Walking over to their friends, Blaine waited for Kurt to sit down before taking his own seat as was their tradition. Kurt sat down with a smile of thanks at his boyfriend's consideration and impeccable manners. Kurt couldn't help but think that one day they could be doing this every morning in their own home, it would be wonderful.

"Does anyone have a preference as to what movie we see?" Kurt asked, hoping their friends wouldn't pick a horror film.

"There are some good romantic comedies out," Blaine said with a smile at Kurt.

"I'm not in the mood to see a soppy film. It kinda bums when you are single," Thad said quickly, still trying to recover from breaking up with his girlfriend nine days ago.

"What about an action film or a thriller? I promise to find one with a decent plot." Wes suggested.

When everyone nodded, Wes got his phone out and quickly started looking up the reviews on the internet for some of the movies released in the last month. He had to make up for making everyone attend the Harry Potter movie marathon when he was feeling a little depressed.
