They made their way down to the makeshift stage that was set up in the center of the camp. Everyone having signed up the day before they were all ready to go.
For a talent show, there surprisingly wasn’t much talent to be shown.
A few juggling acts and some awful acrobatics were done along with some poetry recitations, but other than that it wasn’t anything like Rachel thought it would be.
As she waited for her turn she couldn’t help but feel special.
This was just a talent show, not a competition, but she couldn’t help but feel relieved. She knew she had talent and she couldn’t wait to showcase such talent to a crowd like this. Surely they’d all appreciate her gift.
Rachel loved glee club, but to be honest here where no one could even come close to her talent she couldn’t wait to perform. Here, she could be the star she was and everyone would be more than amazed.
She waited anxiously backstage as the girl ahead of her finished hula hooping and the announcer came on.
“Next we have Rachel Berry and Finn Hudson who will be singing a song for us.” He clapped and turned the stage over to them.
She turned on her music and got ready to sing.
“I’ve always been the kind of girl that hid my face. So afraid to tell the world what I’ve got to say. But I have this dream, right inside of me. I’m gonna let it show, it’s time. To let you know, to let you know…” Rachel sang making her way on to the stage.
She dramatically turned around to face the crowd and belted out the lyrics “This is real, this is me. I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. Now gonna let the light shine on me. Now I’ve found who I am. There’s no way to hold it in. No more hiding who I wanna be. This is me.”
“Do you know what it’s like to feel so in the dark? To dream about a life, where you’re the shining star. Even though it seems, like it’s too far away. I have to believe in myself, it’s the only way…” She sang smiling brightly out to her audience.
“This is real, this is me. I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. Now gonna let the light shine on me. Now I’ve found who I am. There’s no way to hold it in. No more hiding who I wanna be. This is me.” She sang holding out the note as she raised her arms above her head in true Rachel Berry fashion.
“You’re the voice I hear inside my head. The reason that I’m singin’ I need to find you. I gotta find you.” Finn took over singing grabbing Rachel’s hands as they danced together.
“You’re the missing piece I need. The song inside of me. I need to find you. I gotta find you.” He sang spinning Rachel.
“This is real, this is me. I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be. Now gonna let the light shine on me. Now I’ve found who I am. There’s no way to hold it in. No more hiding who I wanna be.” The sang together.
“This is me.” Rachel sang.
“You’re the missing piece I need the song inside of me.” Finn sang.
“This is me, yeah.” Rachel held out the note as Finn sang the next part.
“You’re the voice I hear inside my head, the reason that I’m singing.” Finn sang.
“Now I’ve found who I am. There’s no way to hold it in. No more hiding who I wanna be.” They sang to each other
“This is me.” The both sang.
They finished their song and bowed as every clapped loudly.
“You were amazing Rach” Finn smiled as he kissed her backstage.
“You too Finn. I can’t wait for glee club. With our killer duets we’re going to kick some ass.” She laughed.
“You guys were great. But you’re about to be blown away cause we’re up next.” David smiled.
“Great job you two. Next we have two of your camp counselors Wes and David who would also like to perform a song.” The announcer said as Wes and David took the stage.
“Greetings loved ones, let’s take a journey!” David sang winking at the audience.
“I know a place, where the grass is really greener. Warm, wet and wild. There must be something in the water!” Wes sang.
“Sippin’ gin ‘n’ juice.” David sang pretending to take a drink. “Laying underneath the palm trees!” He sang putting his arms behind his head like he was laying down.
“The boys, break their necks, try’na creep a little sneak peek at us!” Wes sang eyeing up David.
“You could travel the world, but nothing comes close, to the golden coast! Once you party with u-us, you’ll be fallin' in love. Oh oh oh ohhhhhhh!” They sang together.
“California girls, we’re unforgettable. Daisy dukes, bikinis on top! Sun kissed skin, so hot we’ll melt your Popsicle! Oh oh oh ohhhh!” David sang.
“California girls, we’re undeniable. Fine, fresh, fierce, we got it on lock! Wes coast represent, no put your hands up! Oh oh oh ohhhhhhh!” Wes took over singing.
“Sex, on the beach. We don’t mind sand in out stilettos! We fre-e-eak in my Jeep, snoop doggy dog on the stereo!” David sang.

“The girl’s a freak; she drives a Jeep, and lives on the beach. I’m okay. I won’t play. I love the Bay, just like I love L.A. Venice Beach and Palm Springs. Summer time is everything!” David sang.
“Homeboys hangin’ out. All that ass hangin’ out. Bikinis, tankinis, martinis, no weenies. Just a king and a queen-ie.” David smiled at Wes.
“Katy my lady?” David sang to Wes. “Yeah?” Wes replied laughing.
“You’re lookin’ here baby, I’ll all up on ya’ cos you representin’ California!” David sang.
“California girls, we’re unforgettable. Daisy dukes, bikinis on top! Sun kissed skin, so hot we’ll melt your Popsicle! Oh oh oh ohhhhhhh!” Wes sang.

The music ended and the audience cheered as Wes and David high-fived one another.
