Author's Notes: Warning for a little bit of language. So I said I wasn't going to update again today but plans changed and I was able to write a little bit more.So here goes.

Finn drove furiously contemplating everything that has been going on.

Finally he reached the hospital and pulled into the visitors’ parking lot. After paying the ridiculous parking fee he entered the building and found his way back to the room Kurt was staying in.

His parents were already there and appeared to be nervously talking to a nurse.

Finn tried to enter quietly but tripped and knocked over the bed side table.

“Shit.” He grumbled as Burt helped him back up.

“Sorry, I was trying to be quiet because you guys were talking but I fell.” Finn explained gesturing to the table now being sat up right.

“It’s okay.” The nurse said cheerfully.

“This kind nurse here just said she’d talk to her supervisors about maybe allowing Blaine in to visit.” Burt explained.

“Oh that’s good.” Finn said dumbly.

“Yeah, I don’t see why not. He’s currently stable and should be waking up soon; I don’t see how one more visitor could hurt.” The nurse smiled.

“Finn, what happened to your eye?” Burt asked concerned.

“Oh right.” Finn said reaching up and touching his eye. “Yeah, Karofsky came up to me in the hall. And well. Yeah.” Finn explained.

“Karofsky?” the nurse asked. “Is he the one who did this to him?” The nurse gestured back to an unconscious Kurt.

“Yeah.” Finn said bluntly. “Did you guys gather any more evidence towards putting him away?” Finn asked.

“Well we still need a DNA sample from him to confirm, but we can’t do that without a warrant. The cops will be in later to take your and the boyfriend-Blaine-‘s statement. That should be of assistance. And then when Kurt wakes up we’ll arrange for them to talk to him as well.” The nurse explained.

“Alright.” Finn said.

A few seconds later and his phone vibrated, he looked at the new message before speaking, “Blaine’s leaving Dalton now, he should be here in another hour or so.” Finn explained.

“Okay good. Tell him not to rush and to drive safely.” Carole said in a motherly tone.

“Kay.” Finn replied.

“Sweetie, do you want me to get you an ice pack for your eye?” The nurse asked politely moving over to examine his face.

“Sure. Thank you.” Finn said as the nurse stood on her tiptoes to observe his eye.

About an hour or so later Finn and his parents were talking about their days and making small talk as if the entire situation they were in was completely normal.

Who doesn’t talk about the weather in and intensive care unit of a hospital while sitting on the edge of a bed waiting for a boy who was brutally attacked to wake up?

Completely normal.

Blaine entered the hospital and walked upstairs.

He tried to pretend he belonged there and knew what he was doing.

He was just going to walk into Kurt’s room and hopefully none of the nurses or doctors would try to stop him.

None did and when he entered Kurt’s room and was greeted by the family they told him he had been cleared to visit.

This was a relief, at least now he could comfort the boy he loved rather than sitting around in a waiting room.

Blaine greeted everyone politely and then made his way over to Kurt.

Taking his hand in his, stroking his hair back, kissing him on the cheek, and whispering in his ear that he’d be okay.

Everyone sat back down and continued to talk, but Blaine the ever-protective boyfriend stayed right by Kurt’s side never letting go of his hand.

Blaine asked about Finn’s eye and was repulsed to find that Karofsky was starting to hurt Finn too.

Finn told them about the meeting Figgins called and they began talking about what to do next.

An hour or so past and the same friendly nurse and two men in police uniforms walked into the room.

“Hello guys.” The nurse said smiling. “Finn, Blaine, these gentlemen here will be taking your statements shortly. They’ll both interview you one at a time. Tomorrow they will also be visiting Kurt’s school to talk to the students who know about the extent of the bullying; both what Kurt told them and what they witnessed in the hallways.” The nurse explained.

“Hello, I am Officer Gordon.” One of the men introduced themselves and the pointed to the other officer standing in the doorway. “And this here is Officer Michaels.” He explained. “We’re both hear to listen to what you have to say, would either of you like to go first?” He asked politely.

Neither stepped forward.

“Blaine, why don’t you go first since you know more about the situation and the threats.” Carole suggested.

Blaine nodded and followed the gentlemen to another empty room.

“Hello sirs. I’m Blaine Anderson.” Blaine introduced himself extending his hand for both to each shake.

“It’s very nice to meet you, why don’t you first tell us how this all began?” The one who had been identified as Officer Gordon spoke.

Blaine nodded and began his story. He told them everything he knew. Everything he could think of the might help with the investigations. He told them about phone calls from Karofsky and threats posted on the internet that he had documented that might be of assistance in putting Karofsky away. He talked about how he had personally seen Karofsky insult and be physically rough with Kurt. He even gave them a list of names he thought we also be able to back up his story with what Kurt had shared with them.

The officers nodded their heads as the recorded everything he said and jotted down into their notebooks.

“And what is your relation to Mr. Hummel?” Officer Michaels spoke this time.

“I’m his boyfriend.” Blaine said proudly but was completely broken with the appealed expressions the cops had given him.

Blaine forgot, this was Lima Ohio. People were rude and homophobic and just awful. He hoped and prayed that Kurt and him being gay wouldn’t play a role in how the case was treated.

“Okay, I think we’re done here.” Officer Gordon said.

Blaine stood up and left thanking them for their rime.

Finn went in next and they asked him similar questions and he gave almost identical answers, only he was able to go into more vivid detail about how bad the previous abuse had been given he went to school with them and lived with Kurt.

Finn told them everything he knew about the situation and hoped it would help them make an arrest.

They thanked him for his cooperation and he went back to join Blaine and his family.

Both boys talked about how their interviews went and Carole and Burt listened intently.

Blaine had gone back to holding Kurt’s hand and idly stroking Kurt’s hair.

“If he was awake, he’d kill you for messing up his hair.” Carole joked.

“Nah, he loves it when I run my fingers threw his hair.” Blaine said and they all gawked at him. “Not like that!” He laughed. “Just when were sitting on the sofa watching television or something I always play with his hair and he likes it.” Blaine explained.

“You guys are cute together.” Finn said and the rest of the group agreed.

“At least you guys think that. Others aren’t so accepting.” He said gesturing to the two cops standing in the hallway going over their notes and glancing occasionally in the room.

“Don’t let other people get you down. People can be awful, but we’ll always support and accept you two. We love you both.” Burt said patting Blaine on the shoulder.

“Thanks.” Blaine said quietly.

He hated how awful people were.

Things just weren’t fair.

He just wished he could change things.

He wished the world could be a better place.

But he knew that wasn’t quite possible.

Oh well he sighed to himself.

At least he had Kurt.

Hopefully.

End Notes: TBC.
