After a week of being under constant surveillance Kurt is finally taken off suicide watch and is released from his stay in the hospital.

It’s not a real release because he still goes back to the psychiatric unit, but at least there he’s allowed more freedom.

But before he goes back he spends a day with his friends from the New Directions out in the real world.

The day was really fun, the spent the day at the mall talking and catching up and of course doing some shopping.

The school year for them had wrapped up and they were talking about summer plans. Kurt had absolutely nothing to contribute to the conversation seeing as he’d be spending his summer in the nuthouse.

But he wouldn’t let himself get upset over this. He was going to beat his depression. Positive thoughts, he reminded himself.

Blaine could see Kurt’s inner struggle with this and he tightened his grip on Kurt’s hand for reassurance. Kurt still couldn’t grab back because he couldn’t move his fingers at all, which made for a very awkward attempt of hand holding, but he appreciated the gesture. Blaine always was able to make Kurt feel better.

Kurt smiled, now happy, and kissed his boyfriend on the cheek.

Yeah, he couldn’t wait for life to be normal so he could spend all of his time with this boy that he loved.

“So Blaine, do you have any summer plans?” Rachel asked.

“Not really, I applied for a job. And I got it.” He smiled.

“Awwh sweetie, I didn’t know you applied for a job, that’s so exciting!” Kurt cheered kissing his boyfriend on the cheek.

“Where at?” Finn asked.

“The Psychiatric Ward in the Lima Hospital as a receptionist and doctor’s assistant.” Blaine said nonchalantly.

“Oh my god! Blaine!” Kurt smiled pulling Blaine into a huge hug.

“What, you think I’d be spending my summer without you? I told you I’d make this work. Now we can see each other every day!” Blaine smiled kissing Kurt chastely on his soft pink lips.

“I love you!!!!” Kurt smiled.

“I love you too!” Blaine said punctuating it with a kiss that was a little less chaste.

A few catcalls and lude remarks were thrown their way by most of the glee clubbers and they just laughed.

This summer wasn’t going to be so bad after all.

After their day at the mall Blaine drove Kurt back to the hospital and checked him in.

“I’ll miss you sweetheart.” Blaine said softly kissing him on the cheek. “But good news is I start work tomorrow so I’ll see you then.” Blaine smiled.

Kurt pulled him into a heated kiss and when they broke for air he smiled and said “I can’t wait.”

After a few brief I love you’s and parting words Blaine was on his way. And Kurt was going back to his and Holden’s room.

Luckily the hospital had the decency to change the sheets on Kurt’s bed and clean the blood in the bathroom, he couldn’t imagine having to walk in and see that.

Instead he was greeted by a balloon and the smiling faces of his hospital friends.

“Hi Kurt! Welcome back!” Kim smiled running over to hug him.

“Oh Kurt! We missed you so much!” Bethany cooed joining in on the hug.

“Hey Kurt, how are you doing?” Holden asked hugging them as well.

“Hey guys, I missed all of you, I’m doing better.” Kurt smiled.

The group chatted for awhile until it was curfew and Kim and Bethany departed leaving Holden and Kurt to themselves.

“So Kurt, are you really doing better?” Holden asked.

“Yeah, I am.” Kurt answered truthfully.

“I’m glad to hear that.” Holden said cheerfully.

“Me too.” Kurt smiled.

The next day would be very exciting, Blaine was starting work.

Kurt woke up extra early and put a little more effort in his appearance.

Still casual dress, but still knowing how to accentuate all of his best features.

Like his ass of course. His skinny jeans were sinfully tight, they looked practically painted on. He wore a fitted black v-neck tee shirt that clung to his body well and showed off his neck and collarbone.

He didn’t care about the scars showing, everyone here had seen them, it didn’t matter. He wasn’t going to hide them. The ones on his arms were bandaged up from his hand to his elbow so they didn’t matter.

Lastly he had to do his hair. This proved to be a challenge given he had absolutely no use of his hands and no mobility of his fingers.

After a few failed attempts he gave up. Maybe he could get the new doctor assistants help later.

Oh today was going to be fun.

High on the thought of seeing Blaine he practically skipped down to Doctor Andrews’ office to get his medicine. “Good morning!” He said in a sing-song tone.

“Hello Kurt, I’m glad to see you are in a good mood.” He smiled. “Are you here for your medicine?” Doctor Andrews asked will taking out a Dixie cup filled with pills and an additional glass of water.

Kurt simply shook his head and downed the pills and water.

“Now Kurt, Doctor Jessica and I will be meeting with a new intern today so we won’t be able to join you at breakfast. I know you are supposed to be supervised but do you think you could sit with your friends today and eat? They’ll report back to me if you eat or not. And maybe if you’re good we can see about having you taken off constant watch.” Doctor Andrews smiled.

“Yeah I can do it.” Kurt replied.

“Good, I’m glad. Now go have breakfast and inform the others to meet in the lobby at 9.” Doctor Andrews instructed.

Kurt simply nodded. Blaine would be here at 9!!!!

Today was going to be great.
