“Come on guys, let’s go to dinner!” Rachel smiled. She saw how quickly the mood had changed and even though she and Kurt offered to support Blaine, the topic of unsupportive parents was a sore spot for both. To avoid further discussion she figured, like always, it’d be best for her to interrupt.

“Sounds lovely, where do you want to go?” Blaine replied quickly.

“Somewhere cheap, I don’t get my next paycheck until next Friday and I need to save up, so if I blow all my money I’ll be living off ramen and tap water for the next month.” Kurt frowned.

“Oh Kurt, you always underestimate the power of rich friends. We’ll treat.” Rachel smiled.

“Rach, you know I’d never take advantage of you like that.” Kurt laughed.

“Come on, we’re just going to Breadstix.  And taking advantage? It’s just my parent’s money.” Rachel laughed.

“I know you guys don’t like them, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable you guys wasting your money on me.” Kurt replied.

“Wasting money? With this weeks allowance alone I could buy you!” Rachel said playfully smacking him.

“Please buy me!” Kurt teased.

“Hmmm. What would I get in return?” Rachel continued to joke.

“Well I’m house trained.” Kurt laughed. “I’ll cook and clean. Cough cough fix your wardrobe cough cough.” Kurt teased.

“There is nothing wrong with the way I dress.” Rachel frowned.

“You’d think with a gay brother and a gay best friend as fabulous as me you’d dress a wittle better.” Kurt laughed. “It’s okay we still love you, but no more reindeer sweaters. Okay? Okay.” Kurt said patting her cheek.

Blaine couldn’t help but bust up laughing. He’d never met someone brave enough to talk down Rachel.

He also couldn’t help but wonder how long Rachel had been friends with Kurt? They act like their bffl’s yet she had never even mentioned him before. In fact she said they always had sleepovers? Why had Blaine never heard of Kurt?

Better yet how had he never met the beautiful boy?

He was shook out of his day dream when Rachel announced it was time to leave.

“Little brother can sit in the back. Kurt rides shot gun.” Rachel said pushing Blaine out of the way.

“I see how it is.” Blaine frowned.

“Blaine can sit up front if he wants, it doesn’t matter Rach.” Kurt laughed.

“You just don’t want to sit next to me.” Rachel huffed.

“Maybe.” Kurt laughed sitting shot gun anyway already changing Rachel’s radio station.

“Sorry, no Barbra. What do you like to listen to Blaine?” Kurt asked politely.

“No Barbra? What?” Rachel said feigning hurt.

“Oh hush. You’ll get over it.” Kurt teased. “I’ll just put whatever on and turn it low so we can talk. We need to catch up, I feel like we haven’t talked in forever.” Kurt smiled.

“True. I don’t even know where to start. I mean I’m still with Finn, and things are just amazing!” Rachel smiled. “He is so perfect! And I love him so much! And he feels the same way, he doesn’t say so in so many words, but I can just tell he loves me.” Rachel smiled.

“Of course he does Rach.” Kurt laughed fondly. “I’m happy for you guys. You’re a cute couple.” Kurt smiled.

“What about you? Any summer romances?” Rachel asked.

“Yeah, my right hand.” Kurt teased and Rachel almost crashed the car laughing so hard. Even Blaine was cracking up in the back seat.

“Hahaha oh my God Kurt! Hahaha!” Rachel laughed. “Awwwh baby, don’t worry you’ll find someone soon enough. You’re perfect, I’m sure anyone will be lucky to get to love you.” Rachel smiled.

“I’m not sure. There isn’t exactly a plethora of openly gay guys here in Lima. I may have to wait awhile.” Kurt sighed.

“Kurt this is going to be your year. You’ll find someone, I just know it! Like I tell Blainey all the time, soon enough you’ll find someone super special and you’ll be perfect for each other and you’ll be together forever and ever and ever. You’ll get married because soon enough it’ll be legal, and you’ll adopt the most adorable babies and live happily ever after.” Rachel smiled giving his thigh a squeeze as she drove.

“Thanks Rach, I really do hope I find someone like that. It all sounds so nice.”
