Author's Notes: Another chapter! Thank you so mcuh for reading and the positive reviews I have recieved so far :)

There was an awkward silence where Blaine just kept looking between Kurt and Rachel waiting for an answer but honestly not expecting one.

This is why he was taken by surprise when Kurt spoke up.

“I live here alone, because I’m not welcome at home.” Kurt said simply.

“Why wouldn’t you be welcome at home?” Blaine asked confused.

“Blaine, no more questions. Kurt you don’t have to answer him, he’s just being nosey.” Rachel said feeling the tension in the air.

“No it’s okay, I’ll tell him.” Kurt sighed.

“Tell me what?” Blaine asked confused.

“So um Rachel told me you were having some trouble at home.” Kurt started and Blaine nodded. “Well I guess I’m saying I could relate.” He said making hand gestures that read do you follow.

“You left because your dad is borderline abusive? But Finn stayed? That doesn’t sound safe!” Blaine said all in one breath.

“No Blaine, I left because I was thrown out. I live here because last year I came out to my dad, and just like you it did not go too well. He threw me out and I had nowhere to go. I slept in the park for about a week before I realized he’d never take me back and that’s when I decided it was time to grow up, get a job, and get my own place. So sure this place isn’t exactly the best, but it’s all that I have.” Kurt explained.

“Oh my God, Kurt, I had no idea. I’m so sorry. I wasn’t judging your home, I was just confused. I’m so sorry.” Blaine apologized.

“Blaine you have nothing to apologize for. If anything you know what it is like. I am so sorry for the way your parents treat you. Rachel tells me a lot, and I really do hope you are okay. If you ever need any help do not hesitate to call me. I know it can be hard not being accepted. At McKinley-” Kurt started but looked at Rachel standing behind Blaine making ‘cut’ and ‘stop’ gestures to Kurt in the middle of the sentence.

“Rachel what?” Kurt laughed.

“Opstay alkintay aboutway oolschay.” Rachel said in a serious tone.

“Hold up, you know I’m slow at pig Latin.” Kurt laughed. “Hmmm. Oh! Okay.” Kurt said once he got it.

“Why do you want him to stop talking about school? What’s wrong with McKinley?” Blaine asked getting worried.

“Nothing’s wrong with school.” Rachel said quickly ignoring Kurt’s bitch stare.

“Tell me.” Blaine sighed.

“McKinley isn’t very accepting..” Rachel said hesitantly.

“What do you mean by that?” Blaine asked now internally freaking out.

“I’m a human punching bag, I get thrown in the dumpster so much I’m contemplating moving there, I have to bring extra clothes because I’m slushied so much, I have ‘fag’ permanently spray painted to my locker, since I came out I’ve been in the hospital 12 times thanks to the Neanderthals on the football team, hmm what else-” Kurt started.

“Kurt, I think he’s heard enough.” Rachel cut him off.

“Sorry.” Kurt smiled softly at him.

“Rachel, I can’t do this! That sounds awful. I’m going to die.” Blaine complained.

“You’ll be fine. I got your back.” Kurt smiled.

“So do I, and I’ll get Finn to watch you and everything will be okay.” Rachel exclaimed.

“I don’t know if I can do this.” Blaine frowned.

“Awwwh sure you can!” Kurt said cheerfully pulling him into a hug.

How was it that Kurt was so cheerful? He had it just as bad as Blaine, maybe even worse. He was actually thrown out of his house, yet here he was encouraging him to be strong and comforting him.

Could this be who Blaine was looking for?

Someone who understood his pain?

Someone just as abandoned?

Just as broken?

Someone who took that in stride, accepted every word of it, and promised him support and help.

Kurt could quite likely be just what Blaine needed.

And inversely Kurt could use a friend like Blaine, someone who truly understood.

Maybe this year wouldn’t be so bad if neither boy had to go it alone.

This is just sad that Burt was so cruel to Kurt... But it's a really interesting idea having both boys so badly abused.
