"I hope he's okay." Blaine whispered his hands running through his hair out of stress and worry.

"He'll be okay." Rachel said holding his hand to distract him.

"Hey um nurse? We've been here for a few hours now. Is there like an update on Kurt Hummel?"

Finn asked nervously.

"What's the name?" She asked grabbing her clipboard.

"Hummel. Kurt Hummel." Finn replied.

"Oh yes. He has been transferred from the ICU. He's all stitched up but the doctors are still monitoring him until the swelling in his brain goes down." She explained.

"So he's awake? Can we see him?" Blaine asked.

"Well he's not awake yet." She said and Blaine's smile faded. 

"But is he okay?" Finn asked.

"We think so." She explained.

"You think?" Rachel asked skeptically.

"Were doing our best. Please just stay calm and I will let you know when he wakes up." 

"Thanks." Rachel said the only one able to speak.

It had been two more hours and nothing had been done. Blaine was on the verge of panicking when the same nurse walked over to them.

"You all are here for Kurt Hummel right?" She asked and they nodded furiously.

"He's awake." She said softly. "He's being monitored but I can take you to see him if you'd like." She replied.

"Yes. Please." Rachel said standing immediately. Blaine could tell the seriousness of the situation. Rachel never said please.

"Okay. Right this way." The nurse said leading them down the hall to the left.

"Okay he just woke up so you all need to be very cautious. Don't overwhelm him." She said calmly as they all tried to burst through the room. “Maybe one at a time.” She said blocking the running children.

“Can I go first?” Blaine asked.

Finn was about to complain and use his step-brother status to get to see Kurt first but one look in

Rachel’s direction told him not to argue.

“Sure buddy, go ahead.” He said stepping back.

“Kurt!!!!!” He yelled excitedly

“Hey” Kurt smiled as Blaine ran over to him and grabbed his hand.

“Kurt!!! I thought I was going to lose you. I can’t lose you Kurt. Right now you’re the only thing I have in this crappy life. Please don’t leave me I can’t stand the thought of losing you.” Blaine said now a sobbing mess.

“Oh sweetie, come here.” Kurt said opening his arms and moving over in the tiny hospital bed for Blaine to join him.

Blaine quickly snuggled up against Kurt hugging him closely.

“I love you so much Kurt. I thought I’d lose you. And then I’d never have the chance to be with you. I was going to ask you out, but you never showed up and I was just so scared. Will you be my boyfriend Kurt? It would mean so much to me. I just love you. You are perfect and adorable and sexy and loving and kind and amazing and gorgeous and passionate and beautiful and totally awesome and I just love you so much.” Blaine rambled on.

“Of course I’ll be your boyfriend you dork.” Kurt teased playfully and kissed his boyfriend’s lips. “I love you.” Kurt smiled. “I’m so happy I’m alive. I was so scared Blaine.” Kurt cried.

“You’re alive. That’s all that matters.” Blaine kissed him tenderly.

“How do you feel? I mean there was a lot of blood. Like a lot.” Blaine said examining Kurt’s head bandages.

“It hurts like a bitch, but I’m going to be okay.” Kurt smiled softly.

“We’re going to be okay.” Kurt said taking Blaine’s hand in his.

Yes, sometimes things would get hard. But from here on out they’d always have each other. Together they’d be okay.
