Author's Notes: Sorry for all the cliff hangers, this will be the last one I swear. Anyway thanks for reading :)

“Shit.” Finn cursed under his breath as they made the way to their cars to meet Kurt at the hospital.

“What’s wrong?” Blaine asked, because honestly if something else went wrong he probably wouldn’t be able to handle it.

“Kurt’s going to the hospital.” Finn stated solemnly.

“Yes Finn, yes he is. Hence the paramedics and stretcher and ambulance.” Blaine shot back confused.

“You don’t get it; he’s going to the hospital.” Finn repeated staring ahead of him slightly detached.

“Fuck! I just realized that!” Rachel yelled catching on to Finn’s train of thought.

“I’m confused.” Blaine stated as they reached Finn’s pickup truck.

“Kurt can’t go to the hospital.” Rachel repeated shakily.

“What is he like scared of them?” Blaine laughed. “That was a serious injury he needs to go to the hospital.” Blaine said even more confused.

“No you don’t get it. He can’t go to the hospital.” Finn repeated.

Noticing Blaine’s confusion Rachel decided it’d be best if she just explained. “Kurt can’t go to the hospital, if you haven’t noticed he’s kind of broke. He doesn’t have health care or insurance or anything like that-” Rachel started to explain.

“Then we’ll pay for him!” Blaine interrupted.

“Blaine, it’s not just the cost that’s the problem.” Rachel sighed.

“Then what is?” Blaine asked becoming angered at his lack of information.

“Kurt lives on his own, and that’s, well that’s not really normal. In fact it’s kind of illegal. He’s not eighteen; he’s still a child in the laws eye. Burt kicked him out and cut him off, but no one knows that. Hell I’m his emergency contact, if they find out he’s been living on his own they’d put him in foster care or something. Children can’t live on their own like that, it’s not really allowed, and it’s like neglect or something. And yeah that’s exactly what it is, but that doesn’t mean Kurt should be taken away. He does well on his own, but the system wouldn’t see that. They’d see a poor kid and they’d place him in foster care until he’s legally old enough to do things on his own.” Finn explained.

“Oh.” Was all Blaine could say.

“Yeah, oh.” Finn mimicked as he continued driving.

“So what are we going to do?” Blaine asked.

“Usually we got Mr. Schue to lie and say he’s been taking care of Kurt. But the assholes at school have put Kurt in the hospital quite a bit, the hospital board is starting to get suspicious.” Rachel sighed. “If they get suspicious they might look into his school and home life and things might come out.” She added.

“And we can’t let that happen.” Finn said gripping the steering wheel forcefully pulling into the parking lot.

“We’ll just pay the expenses and hopefully they won’t ask questions.” Blaine shrugged as Finn parked the car before hopping out and running to the front desk.

“Hi, can you tell me what room they’re taking Kurt Hummel to?” Rachel asked the receptionist.

“He’s just been rushed into the ICU, you can have a seat in the waiting room if you’d like.” She replied checking her clipboard.

“The ICU?” Blaine question.

“Intensive Care Unit.” The woman answered dryly.

“No, I know what that is. But it was that serious?” Blaine asked becoming even more worried.

“Right now it’s just a precaution because he’s not stable. He lost a lot of blood, and there are signs of swelling in his brain from the impact of his contusion.” She explained.

“Oh my God.” Blaine cried and held onto Rachel for support.

“It’s okay Blaine.” She said holding Blaine as his sobs shook through him.

“He’s a trooper, he’ll pull through.” Finn said not really sure if he was saying to reassure Blaine or himself.

“I hope so.” Blaine cried.
