“Hey Blainers!” Kurt said cheerfully into the phone the next morning.

“Hello love, good morning! How are you?”  Blaine asked sweetly.

“I’m good. You?” Kurt questioned.

“Pretty good, I’m about to go to class.” Blaine replied.

“Oh I’m sorry I hope I’m not keeping you.” Kurt said worried.

“No, no it’s fine. So what’s up? Did you talk to Holden?” Blaine asked concerned.

“I did indeed.” Kurt laughed at his boyfriend’s eagerness towards the situation.

“And what’s the verdict?” Blaine asked curiously.

“I don’t think he hates you. I’m not sure what the deal is, but you didn’t do anything wrong. And he said that you shouldn’t worry about it because you have something truly special and you shouldn’t waste time dwelling on something so petty when you truly have everything. Because you have me. Isn’t that sweet?” Kurt smiled.

“Awwh that’s adorable! Did he really say that about you?” Blaine asked happily.

“Yup he sure did.” Kurt laughed.

“Well he’s right. You are truly special and you are my everything.” Blaine smiled fondly. “He’s a really good person. I like him.” Blaine laughed.

“Me too. He’s a real good friend.” Kurt smiled.

“I’m glad you have such good friends in their Kurt.” Blaine said softly.

“Me too. They’re great, but nothing compared to you. I can’t wait to see you on Saturday.” Kurt smiled.

“Me neither, I’m so excited.” Blaine smiled.

“Mr. Anderson! You are in class now hand over your cellular device this instant!” A stern voice yelled.

Kurt couldn’t help but laugh even though he felt bad for getting Blaine in trouble.

“Hello this is Blaine’s history teacher, he’ll have to call you back when I un-confiscate his phone.” The man said coldly.

“Hi Mr. Sanchez!” Kurt said excitedly. “Sorry for getting Blaine in trouble.” Kurt laughed. “Just tell him I love him and if he doesn’t get his phone back I’ll see him Saturday.” Kurt adds.

The teacher just laughs fondly and wishes Kurt a brief farewell before ending the call.

Kurt had forgotten how strict the teachers at Dalton were, but Mr. Sanchez was pretty nice. Still strict, but nice.

Kurt sighed realizing he wouldn’t be able to talk to Blaine over the phone. It’s not like he could call Blaine’s house, he boarded at Dalton. “Uggghhh.” Kurt sighed.

“What’s wrong Kurt?” Holden asks from across the room beginning to stir in his bed.

“Blaine’s teacher confiscated his phone so I probably won’t be able to talk to him until Saturday when he comes to visit.” Kurt complained.

“It’s okay.” Holden smiled. “It’s already Wednesday, the time will fly by and Saturday will be here before you know it.” Holden tried to be cheery.

“Thanks Holden. Had Blaine been hear he would have just made a remark about Wednesday being hump day.” Kurt chuckled.

“Well I’m not Blaine.” Holden said kind of awkwardly.

Thursday morning and still no word from Blaine. But at least he had friends here to talk to.

He found himself enjoying the small talk provided by his new pals.

“Hey Kurt, how would you impress a boy or express your feelings towards him?” Holden asked.

“I don’t know. I guess I’d sing to him. Serenading someone is super romantic. I love when Blaine sings to me. Why do you ask?” Kurt replies.

“No reason, just wondering.” Holden answers.

“Oh, okay.” Kurt smiles.

Little quirky conversations like this made the day interesting.

Holden had been right though, the week did fly by rather quickly.

Kurt still hadn’t been able to talk to Blaine but it was already Friday night and he’d just see the boy tomorrow morning.

This week had been nice.

Kurt was making progress with eating.

Each morning he’d been able to eat half a piece of toast, at lunch he’d nibble at his salad, and at dinner he’d pick at whatever meat they’d been served as the main dish.

Sure he wasn’t eating nearly the amount of food a healthy person would during a day, but the doctors said he had been making progress.

Progress was good.

He was also making progress with his depression. Doctor Sandra even cleared him to take a lower dosage of antidepressants.

He was getting better.

Things were good.

And it was Friday night!

And he couldn’t sleep.

“Psst. Hey Holden. Pssst. You awake?” Kurt whispered standing up and making his way over to Holden’s bed.

“Hooooolllddeeeen?” He whispered leaning creepily over his bed.

Kurt sat down on the floor next to Holden’s bed. “Psst Holden?” Kurt asked as the boy stirred in his sleep.

Holden rolled over and threw his arm off the bed almost hitting Kurt.

“Watch it.” Kurt laughed to himself.

Kurt sat up more and looked at Holden.

“Holden?” He whispered again.

“Kurt?” Holden’s eyes snapped open in question.

“Hey you’re awake!” Kurt said excitedly.

Holden just laughed. “What are you doing on the floor by my bed?” He asked blushing.

“I couldn’t sleep so I figured you’d wanna talk, but you weren’t awake.” Kurt smiled. “Sorry for waking you by the way.” Kurt laughed.

“It’s no problem. Why couldn’t you sleep?” Holden asked concerned.

“Just excited I guess.” Kurt laughed.

“Oh right Blaine’s coming tomorrow.” Holden said coldly.

“Yeah, but so is my family! I’m so excited! I haven’t seen them in forever!” Kurt said excitedly.

“You’re too adorable for this time in the morning. Go back to sleep Kurt.” Holden yawns turning back to his pillow.

“Fine. But I’m too excited to sleep!” Kurt giggles to himself.

After about another hour Kurt is finally able to fall asleep his dreams filled with Blaine.

Oh such lovely dreams.

Truly truly lovely dreams.

Dreams of Blaine next to him that just feel so really.

The calming sound of rain and a warm body next to him.

A warm body next to him?

Kurt rolls over and is greeted with a kiss.

“Good morning love.” Blaine says happily.

“Blaine?” Kurt yawns kissing back lazily. “What are you doing here?” He questions sleepily.

“It’s Saturday, I’m here to visit.” Blaine says happily.

“Yay yay yay!” Kurt cheers “What time is it? Where’s everyone else?” Kurt questions.

“Oh they won’t be here for awhile, it’s not visit hours yet. I just snuck in about an hour or so ago.” Blaine blushes.

“You’re adorable.” Kurt smiles kissing Blaine again.

“Come on let’s get up!” Kurt says excitedly.

“Can’t you see that it’s just raining?” Blaine sings and Kurt just laughs.

“Ain’t no need to go outside…but baby, you hardly even notice. When I try to show you this, song is meant to keep ya from doing what you’re supposed to. Like waking up to early maybe we can sleep in, I’ll make you banana pancakes pretend like it’s the weekend now.” Blaine sings softly, his voice beautiful as always.

Kurt smiles and snuggles into his boyfriend’s side as he continues to sing.

“And we could pretend it all the time. Can’t you see that it’s just raining. Ain’t no need to go outside.”

“But maybe, like a ukulele. Momma made a baby. I really don’t mind the practice ‘cause you’re my little lady. Lady lady love me. ‘Cause I love to lay here lazy. We could close the curtains pretend like there’s no world outside.”

“And we could pretend it all the time. Can’t you see that it’s just raining. Ain’t no need to go outside. Ain’t no need Mmmm MMmmm. Can’t you see, Can’t you see. Rain all day and I don’t mind.”

“The telephone is singing ringing it’s too early. Don’t pick it up. We don’t need to we got everything we need right here and everything we need is enough. Just so easy when the whole world fits inside of your arms. Do you really need to pay attention to the alarm. Wake up slow yeah wake up slow.”

“you hardly even notice. When I try to show you this, song is meant to keep ya from doing what you’re supposed to. Like waking up to early maybe we can sleep in, I’ll make you banana pancakes pretend like it’s the weekend now.”

“And we could pretend it all the time. Can’t you see that it’s just raining. Ain’t no need to go outside. Can’t you see, can’t you see. You gotta wake up slow.” Blaine ended the song pulling Kurt into another lazy kiss.

End Notes: TBC.*Blaine's song is Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson.
