The rest of the week went by quickly. I was doing really well at try outs, even the coach made effort to come over and tell me. I was even starting to get closer to Finn and the guys. In fact he invited me to come over today after try outs because we had discussed our mutual love of call of duty and he wanted to play me.

They were really nice you know.

I was actually starting to like being here.

My parents had made friends with most of the neighbors pretty quickly and I found out that Finn and a few of his friends from glee club lived in the same neighborhood as me so that could be a great opportunity if I got to know them.

I was having breakfast this morning before try outs and my dad came and joined me so we could talk.

“So how are try outs?” He asked.

“Great!” I smiled.

“I’m glad to hear it. Is anyone giving you any trouble?” He asked nervously.

“No. Well no one knows I’m gay, yet. But the friends I’ve made all seem pretty nice. There’s this one homophobic asshole though, luckily he doesn’t know I’m gay.” I laughed.

“If he doesn’t know you’re gay, then what could he have said that was homophobic? Is there another gay kid on the team?” My dad asked curiously.

“I’m not really sure. No one talks about him. All I know is his name is Kurt. Apparently he’s pretty close to my friend Finn, because Finn always defends him. I’m not sure if I’m ready to come out here yet. School hasn’t even started and they spray painted ‘FAG’ on this Kurt kid’s locker.” I shuddered.

“They did what? That’s awful! Who does that?” My dad asked.

“This isn’t Dalton, remember.” I laughed. “I have try outs now, so I should probably get going. Also I’m hanging out with a friend so I’ll be home later. But he lives in our neighborhood so I’ll be back before dinner.” I smiled and then said goodbye to my father.

Getting into the car I was treated with the same beautiful sight I was every morning around this time.

The runner from my first day here, he always runs by at the exact same time every day.

He’s absolutely beautiful though. His skin is pale but looks soft and perfect. He has gorgeous chestnut brown hair, and the most piercing blue eyes. He’s tall and slender, in fact he’s very very skinny. And when he passes by me I’m treated with the best sight of all, a perfect view of his ass.

God I was creepy, I don’t even know him, yet every day I find myself staring at him. I know his routine pretty well too, so I always know when to look out my window. Typically I catch him running in the mornings, then again in the late afternoon, then before dinner, and then again twice later at night.

I think my mom even started to notice my stalking of this beautiful boy, but I can’t help it. He’s just so beautiful. They way he smiles while he runs. He looks so happy, so free. I’m not sure where he lives or anything I just know what time he runs by my house.

I’m really hoping he goes to McKinley that would make the year so much better.

I was brought out of my day dreams of the mystery boy when I pulled up into the parking lot of McKinley.

Today was Friday, it was the last day of try outs and final cuts. I just realized that I was really really nervous.

I walked over to where Mike and Sam were warming up in our typical spot. I joined them and we talked a little before Puck and Finn came over and joined us.

“I’m just saying, it’s the last weekend before school starts. We needs to have a party.” Puck smiled devilishly.

“Agreed.” Sam smiled.

“Alright. My parents are leaving today to go visit some sick aunt or something so we have the house to ourselves. Puck can you get the refreshments? I’ll text Kurt and tell him to get Mercedes on the phone to spread the word.” Finn smiled. “Saturday?” He asked.

The all let out cheers of excitement and I smiled awkwardly. I didn’t know if the invite was extended to me or not so I felt stupid standing there watching them cheer.

“Blainers, I am going to hook you up with the hottest chicks.” Puck grinned.

“Two things. One, I’m liking the name Blainers. Two, small party. Just our circle. Okay?” Finn asked.

“Okay. But still the Pucksters' got some chicks for you if you want.” Puck nudged me and smiled.

“Thank you Puck. I’ll uh take that into consideration.” I laughed.

“Blaine, you’re still coming over today right?” Finn asked.

“You bet.” I smiled.

“Alright, stay for dinner and after my parents leave you can help us set up.” Finn smiled.

“Okay, I’ll just have to let my dad know I’m staying later.” I replied.

“Okay then! Oh also, Rachel will have a fit if anyone drives home drunk so you guys can just crash at my place.” Finn added.

“Ugh, do we have to invite her?” Puck groaned.

“Yeah we do. She’s not that bad guys.” Finn sighed.

“She has you whipped.” Sam laughed.

“She’s my girlfriend and I love her, what do you want me to do about it?” He smiled.

“Gay.” Puck laughed.

Okay so maybe Kurt wasn’t Finn’s boyfriend. I laughed to myself but stopped immediately when Puck called Finn gay. I know it’s just an expression, but I still worry about their teasing. What if when I tell them they won’t accept me?

Try outs continued and I made the team! Finn, Sam, Mike, and Puck also made the team and they were proud of me. They were good friends.

After tryouts Finn and I went back to his place, turns out he lives right next door to me and I didn’t even know it. Just because my parents had branched out to the neighbors didn’t mean I had.

Finn tried to open the door but it was locked. “Don’t worry, my stepbrother should be home.” Finn said knocking loudly on the door with no answer.

“Do you not have a key to your own house?” I laughed.

He laughed too, “I did but I lost it.”

I smiled and turned back to the door, “Oh there’s a note.” I said reading it out loud. ‘Hey Finn, went for a run. I’ll be back later.

“Damn it.” Finn grunted.

I looked back at the note, at the very bottom it read: ‘hey stupid turn the note over.’

So I turned the note over. ‘There’s a spare key under the mat. Love you!!!!! Ps. I hope no one breaking into the house reads this, that’d be unfortunate.’ I smiled at this.

“Hey Finn, the notes says there’s a key under the mat.” I laughed as he moved the mat and sure enough there was a key underneath.

Finn may not have been the brightest but he was really nice. And his stepbrother seemed really funny.

End Notes: TBC.
