Chapter 13: Breaking In Perfection

It is strange how things work out. One minute someone can be standing on top of the world, and with a blink of an eye, be shattered and laying on the cold floor. Then again, maybe that is not true. Maybe everyone is born a certain way and they can never permanently deviate from the person they truly are. No matter how hard they try or how fare they stretch from the man they once were, they eventually ricochet back to the being whose fate was sealed at conception. The proud who fell or the humble who rose, maybe they were always cracked or above all else. Maybe the boy who used to resist the guards at Lancaster never disappeared. Maybe he was simply hiding and waiting under a mask of complete submission and utter shamelessness until the right moment arrived.

Or so Jeff thought as he dropped a bloody knife to the floor. The fine sound of metal hitting marble echoed in the dark bedroom chamber.

Such contemplations or idealizations were a taxed luxury for Jeff. How could philosophical questions save or help him from his life of promiscuity? What was the point of exercising his mind, if his body was the only thing keeping him alive? Nick said it best all those years ago, "you are mine." Jeff was not a living being, but an inanimate object. Need it be said, inanimate objects do not do certain things - things like daydream and questions, and they especially do not to stab a vampire in the heart.

Nick motionless body rested in a bloody pool against the cream marble titles, and the ghastly wound on the left side of his chest stopped bleeding. It stopped bleeding several moments ago, but that did not hinder Jeff from towering over his fallen master with pride and triumph. He had slain the monster and broke out of the chains of his enslavement. It only took him several decades and a taste of self-respect to resurface, break him open, and release the wild human he once was. Maybe he was always a fighter - maybe be was always killer.

With bloody hands and a panting chest, a familiar feeling of unwanted fear erupted within the claimed human. What just happened?

As suddenly as his violent impulsivity flourished, it dwindled back to its former state of panic; and previous pride and triumph crumbled like rocks into sand. What did he do? Why did he do it? Nick has tortured him for many years but he stopped fighting back a long time ago. Was he finally raped hard enough, cut too deeply, or did a small part of him want to save the child he helped raised from a life of pain? The answer did not matter. Only one thing is for certain. He needed to leave the Anderson estate.

...

"Y-y-you're coming back tonight?" Daniel stuttered. The naked human was sitting hunched back on his and Sebastian's shared bed, nervously hugging his legs and preserving his modesty. One wrong move and the vampire would be lost with lust and be deep within him. "I thought you were sleeping Kurt's bedroom."

With Blaine out of town and on a business trip, the special honor to sleep in the spare bed in Kurt's room was undesirably bestowed onto Sebastian. It was no secret how the tallest vampire viewed these little sleepovers.

"Kurt's a big boy." Sebastian mocked and brushed his cold fingers through Daniel's brown hair. "I think he can sleep without a sitter at his disposal. Let me get the brat cleaned up and settled in bed. After he takes his medicine, I'll come back. You better be ready for me. The brat always drives my patience and attentiveness to stretch you open." The vampire roughly spoke with a heavy mixture of lust and irritation in his voice. "You know what I like - be that way when I come back."

Sebastian leaned in for a kissed, but stopped when Daniel turned his head and opened his mouth. "What medicine?"

"Oh look at you," Sebastian teased and kissed the side of his pet's face instead. Daniel's blood was thick with sympathy, and the wonderful scent was beginning to radiate off the younger's shaky breath. "You are always so caring and paternal. Blaine is gone and I am the one charge. If I want to lace Kurt's pre-bedtime warm milk with sleeping medicine, then so be it. It is nothing for you to concern yourself with. The only thing you should be focusing on is your ass and what I like to do with it." Without grace or healthy concern, the vampire removed his fingers from Daniel's hair, grabbed his pet's ankles and pulling the bare legs outward - completely destroying the younger boy's poor attempt to hide himself. After all, a complete twenty-hour hours without sex was unheard of. Why would tonight be any different?

The sudden and sear force resulted in Daniel falling onto his back and his arms passively to the side. Sebastian has seen, touched and tasted every inch of him, there was honestly no reason to be embarrassed at this point in their relationship. As if verification needed to be made, no additional shades of pink darkened the younger man's cheeks as hungry emerald eyes lingered and marveled at his nudity.

"I won't be gone long." Careful fingers tickled the sensitive teeth marks on Daniel's inner thigh - next to his limp sex. "Be a good boy while I'm gone." With one hand massaging the exposed skin, Sebastian leaned down and stole a quick kiss. "I won't be gone long. You better be ready for me when I come back."

...

Forgetful to wash the dry blood off his hands or change out of his loin cloth, Jeff quickly closed the door to his and Nick's bedroom and scurried down the hallway. If his body was not high on adrenaline, then Jeff would have taken a moment to appreciate the fact that staff was gone for the day and Sebastian was alone with Kurt. The third and only other person within the grand estate was Daniel, and Daniel would not be a problem to him. If anything, Daniel was going to help him. Previously and inadvertently informed where the Smythe guestroom was, Jeff knew where to go in order to find the estrange boy he has only ever seen, but never spoken with.

Jeff quickened his paced as he went down and back up separate sets of stairs and around many sharp corners. The Anderson estate was the same as a complicated maze. Eventually and with great relief, the blonde haired boy found the bedroom door next to a scenic canvas. The door was barely left ajar and a thin strip of light shined through. Daniel was alone - that much was true. Plus Sebastian made it clear though numerous complaints that he would be tending Kurt tonight. However, a snide comment about "knocking the brat out" suggested that the vampire would not be gone for long. "The brat doesn't need babysitting. Give him some sleeping medicine and he won't have any night terrors. I shouldn't have my sacrifice my rest for his."

Thankfully or unthankfully Blaine did not hear the coarse language used to describe his pet and the treatment he would be receiving. Babysitting or 'Kurt-sitting' was a complex responsibility that required the upmost diligence and vigilance. One had to be careful in what they said or did not say, and their eyes had to be Kurt to ensure the teenager did not see something he shouldn't. Had Blaine known that Nick and Sebastian called his precious human 'the brat'... well, things would have gotten interesting. Similar to the defensiveness a mother may have with her parenting skills, so too were vampires sensitive about the domestication of their pets.

Jeff unnecessary hunched his shoulders and bent his knees as he peeked through the open bedroom door. Every inch in the scared human's body wanted to race into the room and cry out for help, but a hint of fear and doubt held him back. What if he was wrong, and Sebastian was in there? What if Daniel would not help him but instead confess his sins to Sebastian? Other than faith and the risk of death, Jeff had nothing else to lean on.

Through the open slit, Jeff was able to notice similarities and differences between this bedroom and the room he and Nick share - shared. Both rooms were adore with rich furnishing and finely crafted paneling along the walls and ceiling. The minor differences revolved around the personal eccentrics that best described the master of the room. In Nick's case, questionable looking chains and whips were untidily stowed beneath the four post bed and several mirrors from different vantage points surround the bed. One could say Nick had distinct tastes behind closed doors. Meanwhile, the room belonging to Sebastian and Daniel was more artistic and refined with leather bound books on the nightstand and a glass wine rack next to the grand window. The wine was surely nothing more than a merciful ploy for Sebastian to help loosen Daniel up - or so Jeff imaged with envy.

The wine rack was not the only thing next to the window. Resting in a wide sofa chain overlooking the Anderson estate, was the define silhouette of a tired body. The added outline of a fluffy robe covering the body was proof that Daniel was partly-dressed and Sebastian was far away.

As if there was tight string wrapped around his waist and holding him back, Sebastian's proven absence snapped the invisible band in half. With the same impulsivity as before and the absence of rehearsed intentions, Jeff pushed the door open with a bang.

"Sebastian!" Daniel panicked and spun around in the chair to face the sound that broke his private moment. It was far too early for his vampire to be back. Kurt was a handful most nights, and said matters were always worse when Blaine was away.

Instead of seeing a lustful vampire in the middle of undressing himself, was the uncommon site of Jeff, let alone - Jeff covered in blood. "J-J-Jeff want are you doing here?" The tiny shed of self-consciousness within the simple human told him to tighten the robe around his nudity.

The blonde did not hear the question, and to the best of his ability he stuttered. "I...I...bad..."

"What...?" The claimer of the two stood up and advanced towards the other. Jeff had his back pressed against the wall with his bloody hands around his waist. "What did Nick do to...?"

"No...no...no!" Jeff pushed himself away from the wall and sprinted towards Daniel - harshly grabbing the other by the shoulders. "No...no...don't...help...go."

Daniel crunched his eyebrows and opened his mouth, but he spoke no words. He had never seen Jeff consumed with rare emotions nor did he ever hear the other speak. Even if the blonde did not have linguistic complications, Daniel doubted Jeff would have been a chatty person. Jeff always kept to himself and maintained the I of a pretty placid doll on Nick's lap.

"You...help...me...go...where? Now...Now!" Jeff screamed and unintentionally pushed Daniel backwards and towards the window. "Help...me...e-e-e-escape...They...will...kill...me." They being Blaine or Sebastian, most likely Sebastian as he was the nearest vampire to him. "Please..."

Something, whether it was the look in Jeff's brown eyes or the nails cutting his robe, tripped inside Daniel and suspicious rose. What did Jeff do? Whose blood did this belong to? The traditional legends pertaining to vampires were not true. They have reflections in mirrors, sunlight was an annoyance but nothing more, they slept in beds, garlic was not toxic to them, and death was nearly impossible - especially at the hands of a human. Surely Jeff did not do the nasty thoughts crossing his mind. Did Jeff kill Nick?

"Jeff, whose blood is this...?"

"No...no...no..." Deep with frustration and panic, Jeff restated his pleas. He did not have time to stand around and chat. Enough of his time was wasted already in search of Daniel. "Help...me...escape...I...have... no...where...to...go....Help!"

A place to go? A place safe for humans to hide? Such destinations were rare and difficult to find, and required tremendous planning - planning that one of the two humans just so happened to be extensively informed on. As if Daniel's previous months of brooding and organizing finally had merit, the brown haired human took a deep breath and returned his eyes towards the blonde. It did not matter what Jeff's faults were. He was broken and only freedom would fix him. Now was the time to stop planning and start acting. He had waited long enough to save Kurt, and now was as good as it would get. Blaine was out of town and Sebastian would be an easy fix. As for Nick, lets save sentiments until later, would not be a problem.

"Okay...okay..." Daniel grabbed Jeff's elbows. "I can help you, but we can't leave Kurt behind. He's coming with us...." A tiny tear formed in the corner of Jeff blank stare. "Do you understand what I'm saying? I'll help you, but we can't leave Kurt behind."

Jeff freed his forming tear with a vigorous head shake. It was not that he did not have positive feelings towards the young unclaimed human - he did. However, as it just so happened, his current state of criminality was in part due to these undefined emotions. Feelings towards Kurt had caused enough damage in his life, and would most likely his death. Why should he take Kurt down with him? Nick and Sebastian were cold hearted masters, but Blaine...Maybe Blaine would be different. Maybe a life of pain was not an absolute endpoint for Kurt's sweet-hearted soul. He had seen the way Blaine spoiled his human and preserved his childhood. A true monster would never have done that. More importantly for Jeff sensitive situation, he did not have time to wait around and do nothing. Sebastian was busy, and he would stay busy until Blaine returned home. By that point, it would be too late to run away. If he and Daniel were to run away, then they best do it now when no one was watching them.

"No...time...no...time....Sebastian...come...back...we...no...go." Jeff trembled and tripped over his words. If only he was allowed to speak in the past, then maybe speaking would not so challenging now. "That's....what...Minster...A-A-Anderson wants....They have...bad plans....They knows...you wanna take....K-Kurt away. If...w-w-we leave K-K-Kurt behind, then we-e-e...leave safely. Take Kurt...with us...and they knows...where's we go."

"A plan?" Daniel relaxed his pressed on Jeff's arms. "They wanted me to run away with Kurt?" Answers and new questions formed in the taller boys mind. "Why?"

"No..no...we... gotta go now." Jeff began, but changed his mind. "M-mister A-Anderson...wants...Kurt to... hate you."

Daniel's spoke over Jeff's troubled rambles. "Do you know their plan against us?" The blonde confirmed the truth. "Then you will help us divert it. Kurt is coming with us. I now a safe place for the three of us to hid. Sebastian is going to sleep in here tonight, and Kurt will be alone. I-I-I know how to tire Sebastian extra fast. Get Kurt ready and waiting by the front door. I'll be down as soon as I can."

Jeff dropped his arms and attentively wrapped them around his naked waist. If he was going to trust Daniel, then this was the ultimate leap of faith. "Then...we...leave?"

"Then we'll leave."

...

Before leaving the Smythe guestroom, Daniel generously gifted Jeff with an actual set of clothing. The jeans were a little long for the shorter boy, but the gift was a wonderful and gladly welcomed compared to the tight leather or a loin cloths Nick made him wear. As for the soft sweater touching his chest - never before had he felt such a wholesome caress touch his body. Who the clothes belonged to was debatable. By no means did Sebastian deprive his pet of clothes, but he was not one to spoil. A deep whiff from the sweater collar did not provide any detail over who the owner of the clothing was.

Up, down and around different stairs and corners, Jeff continued with his unsteady journey towards Kurt's bedroom. With each step he took, the blonde could feel his blood tingle. It was no secret that he was approaching a vampire. The exact knowledge of Sebastian's whereabouts became known with a loud holler. Even though the shout was not directed at him, the noise temporarily stilled his heart and convinced him to hide in the playroom next to Kurt's bedroom.

Inside the dark playroom, Jeff slowly sat behind the toy chest and listened to the commotion on the other side of the wall.

"You are such a worthless brat!" Sebastian shouted and a questionable sounding rumbled followed. "Look at this mess you made! Oh, if you were my human..."

"I want Blaine! Give me Blaine! Not you!" Kurt screamed as if he was a toddler having a tantrum.

"News flash Little Anderson. Blaine isn't hear. You pissed him off and he ditched you."

"No! No! He always comes back to me!"

Jeff tighten his arms around his legs and rested his head between his knees - a heavy feeling of guilt twisted inside him. How would the outside world treat Kurt? The teenager did know how sunlight and wind would feel against his skin, nor would he able to tell the difference between safety and danger. Kurt was the same as a declawed cat, and he and Daniel were about to toss the boy into a scary world he did not know.

"Where are you going?" Kurt both screamed and panicked. "You're supposed to sleep in here with me!" No doubt the teenager was pointing at the spare bed either Blaine or his sitter slept in. "I don't like being alone! Blaine said I'm not supposed to be alone! It's scary!"

"Get your hands off of me." The vampire shrugged the weaker boy off of him. "Drink your milk and go to bed. I don't like babysitting you, just as much as you don't like me. However, unlike you, I'm in charge. Go to bed and don't make a peep until I come back for you. If you're lucky, then maybe I'll put a good word in for you and convenience Blaine to come back."

Jeff tighten his arms round his legs and held his breath when he heard Kurt's bedroom open. Would the vampire be able to smell him?

In a clearer voice, the vampire spoke to Kurt. "There is no reason for you to bother me. You're not wearing your 'big boy belt' and you can see yourself to the toilet if need be. Drink your milk and stay quiet." The bedroom door closed with a sharp bang and a loud set of footsteps walked away from threshold. If, and only if Jeff allowed his imagination to stretch far enough, the footsteps slightly paused outside the playroom door. Thankfully the moment's imagination was short lived and the smirk-wearing vampire walked away without a second thought.

Despite Sebastian's absence, Jeff was still able to hear Kurt talking with himself. The chatter from the teenager was soft enough to prevent the vampire from returning.

"Blaine...you can come out now. I'm still your good boy. You don't need to make anyone like me." Of course Blaine did not return.

Convinced that it was safe to leave the playroom, Jeff stiffly stood up and hesitantly walked around the toy chest. Apart of him suspiciously wondered if Sebastian was lurking on the other side of the door - or worse, Nick. The mutter of Kurt's delusional chatter helped grounded the blonde haired human and encouraged him to turn the handle of the playroom door. By every good grace presented to him, the hallway was empty and silent of vampire hisses. Immediately to his left, stood the closed door into Kurt's bedroom. Unlike, the Smythe guestroom, the door was completely closed and no preamble spying was permitted.

"I don't like being alone...I don't like it at all."

The clarity of Kurt's voice improved the moment Jeff turned the door handle and pushed it inwards. As just like the blonde was expecting, Kurt was rocking himself on his mattresses covers while gently tugging his chestnut hair. Over and over again the teenager repeated his inner thoughts out loud.

"Blaine, you can come back now. I'm not a bad boy. I'm your good boy."

Confused emotions spilled over the blonde haired boy. Maybe it was too late to save Kurt. Kurt after all, was specially bred to be an ignorant pleasure pet. Did the teenager even need the same things he and Daniel craved? Kurt did not miss his family, as the boy did not have one. The pale boy rocking himself never knew what freedom was - thus the idea was a foreign concept. He and Daniel may live on Earth, but Kurt was living on planet-Blaine.

"Blaine!" Kurt stopped rocking and turned around when he heard the door open. Similar to Daniel's earlier confusion, Kurt too crunched his eyebrows and bit his lower lip. "You're not Blaine. I called out for Blaine. Did Blaine send for you?" Kurt stole every chance he could to say his master's name. "Why did Blaine send for you? Do you know where Blaine is?"

Dressed in simple white pajamas and free from his heavy chastity belt, Kurt comfortable turned around to stare at Jeff. Much to Kurt's irritation the blonde haired human stayed silent. Then again, what more could Kurt expect? Jeff never spoke to him in the past. In any case, Jeff's company was better than complete isolation.

"Are you going to sleep in that bed until Blaine comes back?" Kurt pointed to the same spare bed. "Blaine will come back - he always comes back. I'm his good pet."

"N-n-n-no." Jeff broke the fifteen year old rule to never speak to Kurt.

Kurt stopped talking and widen his eyes. Jeff just spoke to him. Did that mean Jeff did not hate him after all? What was wrong with the other's voice? It sounded broken and not as pleasant as the lullabies Blaine normally sung to him.

"I-I-I need...we...need...help," Jeff waved his hands in hopes that Kurt would understand him better. Thankfully Daniel reminded him to wash the blood off his hands earlier, otherwise the image would have scared the teenager. "M-m-minster A-Anderson..."

"Blaine," Kurt saved Jeff the embarrassment of talking. "Are you saying Blaine needs my help? Oh no, we have to go help him!"

Well, that was easy Jeff thought to himself. Need it be said Kurt misunderstood his words. In any case the simple mind would learn the truth later. For now Kurt was ready to go and that was the only thing that mattered.

Kurt jumped out of bed with bare feet and the willowy body swiftly darted towards his nightstand drawer. "It's all my fault. It's all my fault. If Blaine wasn't so good to me, then he wouldn't be in trouble. I miss Blaine." From the drawer Kurt fished out a peculiar net with a blue glittery handle at the end. "This will help us catch the monsters." The toy, as far as Kurt was concerned, held unstoppable magic versus its true nature as a piece of plastic. "What else do we need to save Blaine?"

"N-n-nothing...we...go...outside with...Daniel."

Suddenly the fight in Kurt's eyes lessened and his blue eyes narrowed in on the blonde. "Daniel is a bad pet - Blaine told me that. Are you a bad pet too?" In the past, Blaine always praised Jeff as being a faithful and loyal pet to his master. Was Blaine wrong? No, of course not, Blaine was never wrong and he would never lie to him. "Why did Blaine send for you?" The self-induced image of Blaine injured and using Jeff as his messenger never the younger boy's creative mind. If there were gaps to any story, then Kurt was more than willing to fill them with details he believed to be true.

"I'm...a good pet...j-j-just like you." Several years and a constant witness to Blaine's manipulation over Kurt, taught the blonde how to direct his words in the most effective manner. "I...I...wanna help you...b-become a...better pet. Has Minister Anderson...e-e-ever told...you not to t-t-trust me?"

For so long the Head of the Anderson manor trained Kurt to doubt Daniel, all the while allowing Jeff to slide under the radar. In Blaine's defense, he was not the only one who under minded Jeff's full capabilities.

"No. He said you were a good pet." Kurt lowered the net. Only then did Jeff realize that Kurt was holding the toy defensively. "Are you here to make me a better pet, or are we going to save Blaine?"

"B-b-both. Kurt, we have to hurry... if we want to save Blaine." Jeff feed into Kurt's lie. "Do you trust...m-m-m-me?"

Kurt silently stared at Jeff's outstretched hand. Blaine once told them that people are either all good or all bad. As of now, there were no any solid reasons for him to doubt the blonde. If Blaine liked Jeff, then Kurt would like him too.

"Okay. Let's go."

...

Kurt and Jeff both waited impatiently for Daniel to sneak out of the Smythe guestroom. Kurt repeatedly questioned Blaine's where about, and Jeff's memory kept wondering back to the image of Nick in their bedroom. Tonight...the plan...nothing was going in accordance. The plan was supposed to be a new beginning for Blaine and Kurt, and freedom for the others living on the estate. The new beginning was turning into something much darker.

What could have been minutes or hours, Daniel slowly limped his way towards the front door where the others stood. Annoyance that Kurt was still in his pajamas was short lived by the fact that the teenager was free of his chastity belt and dressed in old tennis shoes. An odd feeling ripped inside him. After months of secret planning and self-doubt, he was finally going to save Kurt. Up until Jeff stormed into his bedroom, the run-away-plan never felt like an absolute potential or something capable of becoming real. Actually, Daniel smiled and relished the feelings ticking inside him. These emotions were not strange at all. In fact they were old emotions he forgot he could experience. Some might call them hope and relief.

"Are you guys ready? I stole the password to open the gates, and Sebastian will be asleep for hours before he missing me." Nothing tired the vampire faster or deeper than for Daniel to take the bedroom reins and ride him hard.

"We have to save Blaine." Kurt reminded the others of their intended mission.

Jeff nodded in his head in Daniel's direction - encouraging the other to play along. "Kurt, this is going to be scary for you, but I need you to hold on to my hand. Don't let go, okay?" Daniel tightly held onto the teenager's soft hand, while Jeff opened the front door.

Cool autumn winds blew into parlor in a steady flow. The first sign of freedom crafted a beautiful smile on Daniel's face. He was going to be free and returned to family. In truth the family was not his, but Kurt's. They were going to go to the hidden village Elizabeth was sent to after she bore Kurt. The village was not much, but a small group strong willed humans who would gladly welcome them into their colony.

"What is that?" Kurt tried to pull away from Daniel and run back into the manor, but the act was restricted. "It's cold and it's scary. I feeling like something hitting me, but I don't see anything."

"Sweetie," Daniel spoke as if he was Kurt's father. "What you're feeling is called wind. It can't hurt you. Trust me and you'll be okay."

Jeff smiled in Kurt's direction - relieving any doubt Kurt had against Daniel. Blaine never told him that Jeff was mean, surely that meant the blonde was nice.

"I trust you." With these words Kurt allowed Daniel to pull him into the great outdoors.

Overwhelming fear, excitement, dread and amazement gasped and stole the teenager's breathe at first contact. Before Kurt was able to appreciate the early rise of the morning star, he fainted into Daniel's loving arms. As if he was in a baby in his old nursery, Daniel carried the sleeping boy away from the only place he ever known.

...

"Kurt...Kurt..." An eerily voice echoed above Kurt's sleeping body. "Awake up my sleeping child."

Sleepy blue eyes slowly blinked open. Whose voice was that and what was wrong with his bed. The mattress was not soft nor did his smell sweet.

"Aren't you a pretty little lost thing." The same voice whispered from a different direction.

As if something punched him in the stomach, Kurt screamed and sat up. Something was wrong, however realization of the truth was worse than his imagination. He was not in his bed, nor was he in his bedroom. Instead he was in a strange room he has never seen before. The room did not have walls and the blinding light was white-lighter than normal.

What kind of place was this?

"Lights don't come from fire mantles, but instead it comes from a burning ball of fire that looms over your head. This hot burning flame could easily tumble down on you if you do anything wrong. The floor is not smooth and it doesn't have walls. It's a very confusing place and lonely pets often get lost within moments."

Blaine's old bedtime story unwilling crept into Kurt's memory.

"I don't want you to ever go there. If you were to get lost, then I may never be able to find you again. The planet is a very scary place."

Piece by piece the memory of passed few hours returned. Another shilling scream ripped from Kurt.

Mysterious flying critters flew off tall tree branches and a bushy-tail animal stop and stared at the panicked teenager.

"Blaine!" Kurt crawled onto his knees and looked around. Jeff was gone. Daniel was gone, and his white pajamas were covered in mud. "Blaine! They tricked me! They tricked me! Blaine!"

Blaine did not come to his rescue.

"If you were to leave me and go with Daniel, then Daniel would get bored of you and he would abandon you someplace far away and scary. Sebastian's human doesn't care for you. Hehatesyou."

"No! No! No! They tricked me!" Worse than any tantrum he has ever given, Kurt screamed until he lost his voice. "Blaine I need you!"
