He knocked on Blaine’s door 4 times before admitting to the fact that Blaine wasn't going to open it any time soon, forcing the door open led him into a large cream room with a sizeable double bed and a great deal of moving-in clutter. The feminine touches such as skirts flung over the arm chair in the corner, where the couple had obviously piled up their could-be-worn-again clothes and a flower patterned kindle case placed amongst bottles of lotion and stray earrings and necklaces on one bedside table, left no doubt that a woman had once lived here. On the bed, face bureid into the bed, one hand clutching the first of the large bottles of alcohol the other twisted into the white sheets in anguish, knuckles white and back arched slightly in pain law Blaine. Blaine's top half was bear and the muscles in his back were rigid and tensed, there was no doubting that Blaine was an attractive man but Kurt was shocked that he was aroused by the physique of the man in such a vulnerable position. He left quickly after that realisation had come, he was slightly repulsed with himslef that he'd found that sorry state of a desperate man even remotely attractive.
Kurt closed the door quietly and made his way downstairs, the baby was sleeping in a Moses basket on the kitchen table, he watched her for a while, his mind tackling an issue that had plagued him all night. Baby girl Anderson still had no name. He knew he'd have to name her something soon so she would learn to recognise herself by it but Kurt was at a loss. He'd had baby names picked out since the day he understood that having children in his life was definitely something he wanted in the future, what he didn't know was whether he wanted to use them on a child that was not his own and whether Blaine and his wife had already discussed the perfect name for their first born. Kurt was still wallowing in these concerns when a small squeak was emitted from the basket, he stood leaning over the baby watching as her golden eyes focussed on him and her tiny mouth made a round little 'o' of a yawn. Her arms flapped a bit and Kurt placed a finger into her outreached palm. She took hold immediately, Kurt feeling like this had become their way of communication, a little security and mutual care for both of them. As he looked at her, felt her baby warmth and her tiny hand clutching him as though she couldn't let go, like he was the only thing tethering her to this Earth, one name in particular made it's way to the forefront of his brain.

Quinn arrives exactly 1 hour after he makes the call. The first thing he notices is the Alexander McQueen dress draped elegantly over her shoulders; the second is her outstanding and angelic beauty. He marvels at the perfectly plaited hair, vintage slightly heeled ankle boots and the walmart carriers she was laden with. She saw him looking at the bags, brimming with food and baby items that had never even crossed his mind to get when he'd hurriedly shopped the night before. 'Sorry' she says sounding worried 'I wouldn't usually resort to Walmart but I didn't have enough time to visit my usual boutiques and...'
Kurt shakes his head, eyes wide and his mind suddenly hopeful. Quinn Fabray was an angel sent to save him 'God, no' Kurt says 'Thank you so much, I can't... I'll find Blaine's money and...' but he is stopped by a small smile and a flick of an elegant hand
'Oh, money is no issue' she says modestly, her eyes on her boots and a small flush crossing her cheeks '...Lawyer.' she says by way of answering Kurt's raised eyebrows. 'Now, where is she?' it takes Kurt a few seconds to realise what she was on about and that he's left the baby unattended. A sharp sickly hot feeling floods through him and as though on instinct he runs full pelt to the kitchen, a laden Quinn following swiftly and gracefully behind.
He knows his panic has been stupid the moment he reaches her, she’s lying peacefully, looking at the ceiling, though Kurt thinks he sees a brightness return to her eyes as he moves back into her line of vision. Without thinking he lifts her into his arms, one hand curved under her bottom, supporting her back with one hand and head with the other against his collar, her head peering over his shoulder and tiny snuffly breaths tickling his neck. He hears Quinn leave the bags by the kitchen doorway and approach him from behind. He relaxes as she places a hand on the small of his back for support and stands on tiptoes to stroke the baby's face. 'Hello Elizabeth' she says sweetly and quietly and Kurt lest out a breath he was unaware he was holding and spins around to face her, his expression one of shock and confusion.
