Blaine paced his room. His dad had taken the news worse than Blaine thought he would have. He had always wanted his dad to be proud of him, say to all the other dad’s ‘yep that’s my boy over there, great boy’. Of course his dad never had. He sat down on his bed with his head in his hands. He wanted to be on stage more than ever now Kurt had come into his life. Kurt had once again inspired Blaine’s dreams to be on Broadway, but was he really prepared to give his dad up for all that? Yes. Yes he was, because his dad wasn’t dictating how he lived his life anymore.

“Morning sweetie” Kurt gave him a little kiss on the lips, it was still enough to make Blaine’s heart flutter. “Morning.” Kurt looked at him and sighed. “What’s wrong now? Look we don’t have to meet my dad, Carol and Finn this weekend if you’re not ready.” Kurt bit his lip in disappointment.

This weekend was going to mean a lot to Kurt if it went through. Blaine turned to face Kurt full on; “Of course I’m ready. I love you Kurt Hummel, a lot longer then you have loved me. Just remember that,” he winked. Kurt snorted, “Ha! Don’t even go there, I’ve had a crush on you ever since the first time I saw you. You were just to blind to see that!” Blaine smiled.

He still couldn’t believe that Kurt Hummel, the most beautiful guy in Dalton was his boyfriend. “It’s not that babe…it hurts me to think that you’re not going to meet my dad. He still accept that I’m gay and in a relationship with another boy. It hurts that you have such a great relationship with your dad.” As soon as Blaine had finished speaking, Kurt gave him a passionate but delicate kiss, entwining his fingers with Blaine’s. “He will come round. I know it. But for now try not to think about it too much. We have each other. That’s all that matter’s” and with that the two boys smiled and walked hand in hand to their next class. They didn’t see the tall boy in the corner smiling a sly smile.

Sebastian’s pov

He still couldn’t believe that Hummel could pick the nerd over him. He put that down to Kurt being stressed out from practising for Sectionals. No, he would be with Kurt Hummel, not matter what it took. That nerd would not get in his way for becoming the hottest couple at Dalton Academy. Just lucky I have a plan then, he thought to himself before sliding away…

Blaine’s pov

Blaine noticed that for the first time since he had joined the school that Sebastian had not made any snide remarks. He realised that it was probably because Blaine was not the freak anymore; he was the talented, attractive guy with the gorgeous boyfriend. It was the best feeling he had ever had. As they walked in and began to practice a version of ‘Hey Soul Sister’ ready for sectionals, in which Blaine would get his first ever solo, he accidentally bumped into Sebastian, but instead of shouting abuse at him, Sebastian simply smiled a warm, genuine smile at Blaine and apologised. At first this troubled Blaine but decided that maybe he had just finally got over his hate for Blaine, perhaps they could even be friends now?

That evening Kurt and Blaine were sitting in the library, talking about their future, discussing what their dream musical to act in would be, Blaine already knew that one day he wanted to play J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Kurt wanted to play anything that involved wearing a feather boa. Blaine had laughed non stop at this for at least 10 minutes!

Suddenly the door slammed open and a short man with jet black curly hair streaked with grey and triangular eyebrows was standing in the doorway, with a crimson face. He began striding across the room towards the boys, Kurt shot a look at Blaine and just by doing that he knew who this rude man was.

‘Blaine, what the hell do you think you’re doing, you have no idea how angry I am, I’m taking you straight out of this stupid school and you’re going to start at a proper one where you’ll do soccer, and woodwork and there will be NO MORE OF THIS STUPID SINGING AND DANCING!’
‘What are you talking about dad?!’ Blaine has stood up and he although he was almost as tall as his dad he felt about 2 inches tall.
‘Don’t give me that, you know what I’m talking about! How dare you cheek me like that?’
‘Mr Anderson, maybe you should try to calm down’ Kurt had come to stand next to Blaine and Blaine smiled at him as if to say thank you.
‘And who the hell are you?’ Blaine’s dad said angrily
‘I’m Kurt, Mr Anderson, how, err, lovely to meet you Sir.’
‘You’re Kurt?’ Kurt nodded and held out a hand for Mr Anderson to shake, however Blaine’s father ignore it and turn back to Blaine.
‘Blaine I am taking you from this school immediately, go pack your stuff, hurry up.’
‘But w-why?’ asked Blaine, Kurt could feel him shaking next to him.
‘What do you mean why? You bloody well know why, thank goodness that boy Sebastian had the decency to inform me about it.’ Of course, Sebastian, thought Blaine bitterly, but it still didn’t explain his dad’s problem.
‘What did Sebastian tell you Dad? Because knowing Sebastian it’s probably not true.’
‘Don’t be ridiculous Blaine, I know all about you singing the solo at that silly singing competition, you know I’ve told you hundreds of times that I won’t have you flirt your sexuality in front of an audience, you’re not talented, when are you going to get that into your head?! You’re going to come out with this stupid ‘gay’ phase, you’re going to go to normal college, get a job in an office somewhere, meet a nice girl, settle down and start a family, you’ll forget all about these stupid Broadway dreams. Now pack your stuff, and let’s go.’

Blaine stood there, he couldn’t speak, he couldn’t feel anything, he turned to Kurt who was staring at the ground, tears in his eyes, somehow he found the courage to look up at the man who had made his life hell, who had never made him feel comfortable, who treated him like he was abnormal, like he was alien just because he liked boys. He felt sick with anger.
‘No.’ he said simply.
‘What do you mean, no?!’
‘I mean I’m not coming with you. I hate you. This isn’t a ‘phase’ dad, being gay isn’t a choice, I’m in love with Kurt dad, I love him and nothing you can do or say will change that. I am talented dad, I can sing you just don’t want to believe it, I will make it on Broadway one day, I know I will. And Kurt will be there with me the whole time, I’m gay Dad, deal with it. You fall in love with a person, not a gender.’ He took Kurt’s hand in his own and stared into his dad’s eyes. That’s when he saw it, a flicker of fear in his father’s eyes. But he was too strong, he grabbed Blaine by the arm, dragged him out of the school and into his car where he locked the door.
‘I’ll come get your stuff another time. You’re never coming back to Dalton Academy.’

And then Blaine began to cry.
