Chapter 16:

Blaine immediately pulled Kurt against him, arm sliding around his waist.

"Inside. Now." Puck kept his tone calm, but the unspoken threat was clear: Scream and I'll shoot him...and then you.

Blaine felt Kurt take his hand and nod solemnly. Puck nodded and slid his gun smoothly back into its holster under his suit jacket.

They made their way back inside, to the flooded dining saloon.

Blaine heard Puck get ready to fire the gun, and something in him snapped. Somehow he knew Sebastian had to be a part of this -- and the idea made him sick to his stomach.

As he turned, intending to tackle the other man and get the gun, heheard Puck yell in pain and a splash.
Kurt had grabbed a plate floating near his waist in the water and smashed it into Puck's head, causing him to collapse. The gun sank into the water below the unconscious man's body.

He grabbed Blaine's hand and tugged him in the direction they'd come.

"Come on!"

---

Cooper couldn't believe what had just happened.

Dave was dead -- and he hadn't even done anything to deserve it. The thought infuriated him.

He wanted to kick the ass of the officer who'd shot him -- but the man in question had shot himself, his body toppeling over the rail and into the sea.

He could do nothing except drop to his knees and begin attempting to remove the bloody lifejacket from his dead friend's body.

Because if he had anything to say about it, he was getting off this sinking ship alive.

And he hoped like hell that Blaine and Kurt would do the same.

---

Kurt pulled Blaine with him up the rapidly inclining stern.

They didn't stop until they'd reached the very back.
Then Blaine made his way around him and climbed over the rail, extending his hand.

"Come on!" he yelled.

Kurt grabbed his hand without question and let the other boy pull him up and over the rail as the back of the ship continued to rise out of the water.

"We'll stay here until it goes down!" Blaine fought to make himself heard over the screams of the passengers. Kurt looked up at him and nodded. "We'll be okay, Kurt. I promise."

Suddenly there was a loud creaking noise. Both boys watched in horror as the cables on one of the funnels of the ship snapped, and the funnel fell over, sending a gigantic spray of water in the air as it crushed the helpless passengers trying to swim out of the way.

What followed was a horrible noise -- like metal and wood being ripped apart.

Blaine stared in disbelief down at the splintering deck.

A horrible feeling formed in the pit of his stomach as he realized the ship was splitting in half.

---

Cooper gasped for breath as he clung to the overturned lifeboat with several other men. The water was absolutely freezing, and he was soaked -- but thankful someone had had the decency to pull him out of the water.

He silently thanked Dave for the lifebelt, knowing he would have died without it.

Suddenly the other men on the overturned boat could be heard yelling, or crying out in shock.

Cooper turned his head and then felt like he might faint.

The Titanic was breaking into two, the bow slipping rapidly beneath the sea and the stern rising until it was standing straight up.

Blaine...

---

Blaine gripped the rail tightly, biting his lip when he felt Kurt link their arms together.

Feeling the ship break apart had been terrifying. Now they didn't know what was going to happen -- and it scared the hell out of both boys.

"Blaine, what do we do now?" Kurt asked, panicked.

"I -- I don't know. We don't have anywhere else to go -- but this thing goes under, we're gonna have to swim for it. No matter what, stay with me."

Kurt's hand found his, holding on tightly.

The stern lurched, and then they felt it begin to sink.

The two teens stare at each other for what seemed like an eternity before what remained of the ship disappeared into the Atlantic, pulling them with it.

End Notes: Only one or two chapters left. wow. Hope you all liked this one.

ooh, the suspence, will it end like the film or won't it... somehow it is much more powerful to read about it than watch it. God job.
