Author's Notes: This one's short -- I apologize!
Chapter 2:

Kurt's jaw dropped.

"I -- but isn't that unethical? What about when she tried strangling you?! What about the kidnapping, or what she did to Cooper when you were kids?!" he cried. "They can't just --"

Blaine set his phone aside after telling his brother he loved him, and no, he didn't need to stop working on the film to fly back to Ohio.

"Good behavior apparantly." he said sourly. "Complete bull. She's medicated, not behaving!"

"Who -- Where is she staying while she's under house arrest?"

Blaine shrugged.

"Cooper said some beat up appartment."

"And your dad?"

"Still in jail -- he plead guilty and he's serving three to five years." he sighed.

Kurt frowned. Off screen, someone called his name, and he turned away from the camera.

"I'll be there in a minute!" he looked back at his screen. "I'm sorry Blaine -- I have to go. My roommate wants to study for our Drama quiz tomorrow, and he's freaking out."

Blaine nodded, casting a look of disgust at his English book.

"I have an English test in the morning, so I should go too." he touched the screen again. "I love you."

Kurt smiled.

"I love you too."

A few moments later, the screen went dark, signalling the call was over. Blaine groaned and reluctantly picked up his English book.

---

At two-thirty in the morning, California time, Cooper woke up screaming. He sat up in bed, breathing heavily, and tried to get his bearings.

You're okay...you're okay, Anderson...c'mon, it's just a nightmare...

Alex, his roommate, was staring at him, frightened.

"Y-You woke me up," he said, gripping the door handle tightly. "Everything okay?"

Cooper glanced at his alarm clock and swore loudly.

"Yeah...Just...just a damn nightmare." he said. "I'm fine, Alex. Go back to bed."

The blonde didn't move.

"Alex get the hell out of my room!" he screamed, grabbing the closest thing he could find -- he didn't even realize it was his cell phone -- and threw it at the door. "Shit." he swore when it finally hit him, and he begrudgingly left the comfort of his bed to pick it up before crawling back onto the mattress.

He had two missed calls and one new voicemail.

Cooper was pretty sure they were all from Blaine. he dialled his voicemail and put the phone to his ear.

Coo? I -- I know you're sleeping and if you were in O-Ohio you'd so kill me right now, but -- I kind of had a nightmare. You s-said to call if I n-needed anything...Okay I'll shut up. Love you bro. 'Night.

It broke his heart to hear Blaine crying on the phone. He quickly dialled his little brother's cell phone.

It went straight to voicemail.

"Hey Blainers," he said, when the voice prompt had ended. "It's me. I'm sorry I missed your call. Call me back after you meet with Dr. Collins, and we can talk, okay? I love you B. 'Night."

He hit the end button and pulled the sheets up over his head, praying he could at least get a few more hours of sleep.

But not before he made one more call.

---

"He didn't."

"He did!" Blaine was fuming. He didn't even notice the jocks approaching with the all too familliar red and white cups. "As a result, I'm being pulled into an unscheduled session with that bitch!"

Tina's eyes went wide, and she exchanged a look with Artie. They'd never heard Blaine swear before -- at least deliberately. Usually it was only if they caught him and Kurt stealing a few minutes in a janitor's closet after school let out -- and it wasn't because they wanted to catch the two boys going at it.

Puck had declared himself scarred for life on multiple occasions.

"Look I -- why can't this be a good thing?" asked Artie cautiously. "Cooper's just trying to help, man --"

Blaine slammed his locker door shut.

"I don't care! I was fine talking to just him! He told me to call if I needed him for anything and I needed him to be there to listen! Instead he leaves a voicemail telling me to call after I talk to her, and I didn't have a scheduled meeting today! My grandpa informed me when I came down for breakfast that I'd be going over there after school, or I can't Skype with Kurt tonight!"

"Uh, T --" started Artie, motioning to the jocks. Azimio had been held back, as had Strando, and they were at the head of the red jackets approaching.

Tina's face paled.

"Blaine --"

It was too late. Within seconds each of them had a face full of either cherry red, purple grape, or blue raspberry slush.

Tina started to head for the girls' bathroom.

That was before Blaine started screaming.

End Notes: Thoughts or concrit are welcome.

love this! poor blaine! why was he screaming?

Thank you so much for bringing this universe back, it's like a gift from the angst angels themselves! Aww, Blaine called Cooper when he got scared at night because of the nightmare! I know it wasn't Cooper's fault, but I kind of feel disappointed in him that he wasn't there to talk to Blaine when his little brother was crying. If only because it deprived us of a protective big brother scene, and there are never enough of those! Those brutes, what have they done to Blaine?!
