"Tigger, wait for me! I don't want to get my new pants dirty!", the little boy yelled and giggled as he ran after Blaine, trying to catch up with him.
"Sorry, Dolly," Blaine stopped running, his sneakers skidding in the dirt as he clutched his teddy bear in one hand. Ever since meeting after Blaine had moved in, the two little boys had become best friends and now did basically everything together. Instead of calling each other their real names, they had nickanames; Blaine was Tigger because his mommy said his curls bounced like Tigger's tail, and the other was Dolly because his mommy said he had rosy cheeks and fragile skin, just like the dolls that Blaine's mommy collected.
As soon as the little boy caught up, Blaine smiled, looking at the teddy bear his friend was clutching too, "I think they should get married under the tree in your backyard! The one with all the pretty flowers and then when they kiss, your daddy can shake the tree so the flowers fall on the teddies."
The little boy nodded, "I like that, but we have to be careful, Mr.Teddy told me that he doesn't want to get dirt on his pretty clothes."
Blaine giggled, "That's okay, Sir Bear doesn't want to get dirty, either. He wants to look good for when he marries Mr.Teddy so they can be husband and husband. He doesn't want his husband to call him a 'dirty slob' like my mommy calls my daddy sometimes."
With that, the two little boys both headed into Dolly's backyard, running to the tree that held all the 'pretty flowers' that they wanted to fall down onto their bears after they got married.
"With the power in me, I call you husband and husband! You can kiss the teddy," The two boys made their teddy bears kiss, before giggling as both of their dads shook the tree to make the flowers fall down. They stood up, brushing off their pants, and smiling as both of their mommies came out to join all of them; ever since moving in, their parents seemed to be best friends too.
"I just heard a marriage out here. Who got married?" Blaine's mommy smiled and scooped him up, smiling as he nuzzled his face against her cheek.
"Mommy, our teddy bears got married! It's okay that they're both boys though, right? That's what you told me," Blaine looked at his mommy with eager eyes, and she nodded.
"Of course it's okay, baby. Everyone should be able to marry anyone they want" she smiled at him, petting his hair down and smiling, exchanging a glance with the other mommy.
"Does that mean I can marry Tigger?" The other little boy whispered to his mommy, and she nodded as well, before he turned to Blaine and grinned, "We can get married too!"
Blaine's eye slipped open slightly, and he groaned, instantly regretting it as a flash of light drove it's way into his pupil. He groaned yet again, but managed to open his eyes, and found himself looking up at the sky instead of a ceiling.
After a few minutes, he managed to sit up, the back of his hand rubbing at his eyes, before they adjusted to everything around him. The flowers, the trees, the sky, the..dog? He then remembered that he must have still been with Kurt at the park. Looking down, his guess was confirmed as he saw the boy next to him; also asleep it looked like; looking peaceful, serene, comfortable.
Yawning a little, Blaine scrunched up his face and let out a loud sneeze into his hands, watching as Kurt stirred from the noise and sat up slightly; a look of panic on his face. But then somehow Kurt's hand found Blaine's.
"Blaine?" Kurt's grip tightened around his hand.
Blaine tilted his head questionably, but didn't pull his hand away, "Yeah, I'm right here, Kurt. I guess we fell asleep. Sorry for waking you up."
Kurt let out a sigh of relief, before realizing they were holding hands, "Yeah and uh..sorry. I just, I had to make sure you were still here. I was scared you weren't," He muttered as he let go of Blaine's hand, "But don't worry. I wake up easily. What I don't have in the eyesight departent, I make up in the ear department." He laughed a little.
Running a hand through his hair, Blaine smiled a little, "No need to apologize, Kurt. It's alright. And yeah, I noticed." He stretched his limps above his head, before pulling his phone out and looking at the time, "Well, that was a long nap." He looked over to see Kurt petting Lucky's head with a huge grin on his face.
"Was it now? Is it starting to get dark? If it is, I should probably go home now. My Dad will worry."
Blaine looked up at the sky, "Yeah, maybe you should. I wouldn't want him thinking I kidnapped you," He joked, and stood up, holding out his hand for Kurt, before realizing his mistake. Instead, he put a hand on Kurt's shoulder to remind him he was there, then grabbed the boy's hand and helped him up that way, before brushing off his own jeans of grass and leaves.
"Lucky, follow," Kurt nodded to his dog, then smiled at Blaine, who started walking with Lucky and Kurt following.
"He's a really good dog. Did he uh, have to go through a lot of training?" Blaine asked as they headed out of the small path, and into the open park in only a few minutes.
He watched the boy shrug, "Maybe a little, but we've had him since I was 8," There seemed to be a small hint of sadness as he said this, but Blaine tried to ignore it; maybe Kurt just had different facial expressions than everyone else when it came to feelings. "He's a good dog, though. He wasn't even raised to be a seeing-eye dog, but he is now. He listens very well."
Blaine smiled and nodded, "Yes, I can tell." He lead them to the main sidewalk, smiling from the dog, to Kurt; wishing the other boy could see it. "I could walk you home, if you want."
Kurt bit his lip softly, "I like that idea. I only live a block or so from here," And with that, an amazing smile plastered itself on the boy's face; the same smile that kept making Blaine grow slightly weak in the knees every single time he saw it on the other boy's porcelain face.
And they did just that; Blaine, Kurt, and Lucky, walking side-by-side along the sidewalk. Instead of Lucky leading Kurt, Blaine noticed the other boy kept his hand, and body, within centimeters of Blaine; as if feeling the presence of him was enough to guide Kurt along the sidewalk.
Though, after almost running into a few rude people, Blaine had managed to loop their arms together while Kurt was aimlessly chatting about Glee club and how much he liked singing. Honestly, Blaine found it lovely how much the other boy loved music. They shared that interest.
"So, even though you're homeschooled now, they still let you practice and sing with them?" Blaine asked, their arms still hooked together.
Kurt smiled and nodded, keeping close to Blaine, "Yes. They're.." His facial expression softened, "Kind of my only friends. And they know that. Plus, they say my voice fits well within the whole group. Rachel helps me a lot. So does Finn, but since our parents just got married, we're still in the awkward step-brother phase."
Blaine bit his lip a little, beginning to think about his own brother; his brother who had died when Blaine was 4; he barely remembered him. If only he still had a brother to go through awkward phases with.
"Well, I think it's nice he helps you," Blaine tried to keep his voice unemotional; which must have worked because Kurt didn't pick up the way his voice cracked slightly.
"What about you? You're in the Warblers, aren't you? Mister Competition?" He laughed as they continued to walk.
"I am, yes. We're going to be competiting with each other soon, huh?" He smiled, slightly tightening the grip their arms had around in each other in the loop they were in at the boys' sides.
Kurt laughed a little, and was about to say something, before Lucky sat down in front of a driveway and gave 2 quiet barks.
Blaine tilted his head, but laughed as Kurt spoke up, "That's his way to tell me we're home."
Nodding, Blaine ran a hand through his hair again, biting his lip, "Well, I guess that this is goodbye, then."
Kurt just nodded, shifting around on his heel, before a short silence was exchanged between them.
Deciding he just needed to speak up, Blaine put a gentle hand on Kurt's shoulder; he was kind of getting used to doing that. Seeing the way just Kurt's face lit up, was enough to make Blaine blush. "So uh, I was wondering if...if maybe you would want to go out with me tomorrow night? On..a date?"
Again, Kurt's face lit up even more, if possible, and a small giggle escaped his lips, before he blushed. Blaine was thankful the other boy couldn't see the huge smile across his face.
"I would love to," Kurt said quietly, "Call me tonight or tomorrow and we can talk about it, okay? Bye Blaine. I had fun."
Blaine smiled, petting Lucky's head, and quickly leaning over to sneak a kiss onto Kurt's cheek, "Goodbye, Kurt. I'll call you tomorrow."
And with that, they seperated; both of them with huge smiles on their faces.
