Two weeks.
Kurt woked up at 5:50. Much earlier than usual.
After ready, all the free time was spent just staring the television, without really paying attention. But stare ridiculously a random reality show for more than one hour seemed much more interesting than to let his thoughts fly away. Further than it should.
Before opening the door, he thought for a moment if Blaine would talk to him. He closed the door behind him, and went back to thinking about it when he entered the taxi. Why would Blaine talk with him? Because they kissed. Because although he isn't already assumed, he accepted himself as gay. Because they kissed again. He was still a little entertained in his own thoughts when the car stoped in front of the gate. He entered, and as he heard the taxi pull away, inevitably searched for Blaine. He climbed the stairs slowly, and upon entering the room, glanced forward to the known faces, but looking for just one person. When he saw Blaine, he realized that he was staring him too. He thought about getting close. Blaine smiled, which was a good sign. But then he made a gesture, asking him to wait, which wasn't as good. He was surrounded by some other boys. Kurt sat. Blaine followed him with his eyes - he was terribly upset to stay there, but despite the urge to run up to him, he just continued pretending to pay attention to the conversation of the people who were supposed to be his friends.
Third time. Kurt looked occasionally to Blaine. So far, so close... He could hear that voice easily recognizable. He felt that Blaine was looking again. He kept his gaze, but looked down as he saw that David was also staring. Maybe Blaine feel ashamed if someone found out. He was still trying to hide it, still pretending to be what he wasn't. For what? To please a prejudiced society and fit in their standards? It doesn't seems so fun. He standed up, and went toward the door. He knew that when they were out of college, it was always the best time of the day. The moment that Blaine isn't afraid of the others, the moment he doesn't live a lie. The moment when everything is real. He looked once more for that boy who needed to be his. What Kurt didn't know was that this boy was already his. A long time ago.
"Kurt?" A low voice calls him.
He turns to the door of one of the cabins of the bathroom, where only Blaine's head appears, making a quick gesture with his hand to call him.
"I told you, you don't need to talk to me if it will be like this." Kurt rolls his eyes.
"I understand." He just nods, checking once again the empty place before leaving completely. "But can you see my side too? This is a little too hard for me."
"Oh, sorry, I forgot how difficult it's to kiss someone when you're drunk, invite him to a meeting and then pretend not to know him at school. You're right, it's really hard."
"I wasn't drunk that day." He says, holding Kurt's arms to stop him from leaving. "I did that because I wanted to, but I can't just shout out to the world that i am-" He makes a break. "That i am."
"I didn't ask you it." Kurt mumbles, and Blaine can't know if he's angry or sad.
Blaine drops his hand to his wrist. It all happened so fast. He just felt at the moment he saw Kurt. And two days after it, happened. He had no idea how that kiss would mean so much to them. Or maybe, a small part of him knew, but he still wanted to risk. It may be worth.
And he risks himself even more, when he decides to wrap Kurt's waist and kiss him.
"Your phone." He mumbles and lets out a little sigh.
Kurt thinks for a moment.
"Why?"
"I need to have your phone number to call you." Blaine smiles.
13.30. Blaine didn't want to wait long. He dialed Kurt's number.
"Hello?" He immediately recognizes the voice.
"Kurt?"
"Sorry about this morning." He hastens to say. A brief moment of silence. "Are you free this afternoon?"
"It depends."
"Can I... see you?"
"Ok." He hadn't completly forgiven him, but he couldn’t deny: he liked him. Maybe even more than he should. And it can be terrible, somehow. But he couldn’t help a little smile. "The main square?"
"Sure." He realizes that he changed his tone. Good. "See you there”
Blaine put the phone on the bed, and with a satisfied smile on his face, went to the combined place.
"Hi"
"Hi..." Blaine looked admiring the beautifully dressed figure before him. "Sorry about this morning." He repeated, and looked away, but soon return to face him again. "You know I like you. I mean, i really like you."
"Then show it." He asked. "I don't know what you intend to do, but I think now it's a little too late to pretend that nothing happened. Do you think I feel comfortable being treated with indifference when people are around? "
"I didn't assume yet, you know it. But it's really bad for me too. Pretending to be someone I'm not, pretending to like people that i actually hate and pretend to ignore important people to me... Pretending to ignore you. It's horrible."
"I didn't go through this situation. But I know what is prejudice. "He looked into Blaine's eyes as he spoke. Kurt looked around quickly, and took one of his hands, hoping that he doesn't moves away. Great. "And that's why I'm not gonna stop talking to you, or kis- or anything, when you pretend not to care about me when people are around. But, please, don't let this continue for long... I wanna be by your side when you're ready. But I also want you to show, somehow... what I am to you. "
Blaine smiled gratefully, and at the same time felt an overwhelming need to fulfill his request. He was still holding his hand. And without looking to see how many people was around, just like he used to do - and just like how Kurt hated - he came slowly, and kissed him.
